Flambass, I’ll never forget your KOTS match on the Atlantic map where you went down through the A cap. No ships had been spotted yet on either side. As you passed around the end of the island, suddenly torps appeared from nowhere and sank you before the match had really even started. There were no words. OMNI was out of the competition. When I checked in later, you were streaming Subnautica, trying to forget about it, diving super deep in your new PRAWN suit. In chat I asked if you were “looking for your Gearing?” and got a good laugh from you. 😂 It’s been a long time, thanks for all the fun. I think I need to send you a lil $omething….

When I saw the video title the same memory came to my mind. Flambass + Gearing = tournament, torpedo hit, Subnautica, "are you looking for your Gearing?" I would not call it funny, it just burnt itself into memory. One of the best competitive DD players gets sunk early on in the finals. A combination of bad luck and that the other guys knew how to play, too.

I remember when the Gearing was an absolute terror as it could just stay at range and stealth fire as firing didn't increase detection range back then.

Yeah. Stealth firing was just broken. Glad they removed it. That, Yamato with superheal, 20km Shima torps being good, the grind being insane, etc. Early WoWs was crazy. Imo it peaked in quality after they fixed those childhood illnesses, added better eco bonuses and CVs were still RTS. Around 2017-2019.

He says he hasn't played it in a long time yet he STILL has the skill set to bag a much faster DD and not take a single torp ....pure skill set that many of us will never master 🤣😂 yes I replayed that in slow mo about a dozen times just to learn something.

I personally play the long range torps on Gearing because people just forget about the range and sit where they think they are safe.

Those old fire chance percentages on Gearing are brutal. 200+ shell hits in that game and three fires.

Especially with other people, the smoke and scouting ability are great, but that's generally not something you can really use with just randoms.

I often wonder if it worth getting back into this game and just focusing on playing a single ship and becoming completely specialized in it. Haven't convinced myself that it is worth it yet.

This CB season i´m back at the Gearing and surprised how good it still is.

Flambass never play Tarkov anymore? I really liked watching those videos as well.

At the end, the player suggesting rushing the GK just wasn't thinking (or didn't care) ... guns were pretty much ready for you.

Used to love this ship, used to love this game..Wish there was a way to roll back, and play the original version of the game..Same with tanks..Someone plz open a pirate server! ;)

How do you get less CV games? Just like right here... Take the AA mod in a strong AA ship and CV games will be few lol.
