30:32 Bc5 then maybe Rxb5 is playable after axb5, a6, Ra2, a7 and then march your king to the center.

h2-h3 play was very fun, seeing the machine learn and beat the trolls

I voted against chat during the points prediction, got scared when chat got good, then got annoyed when they offered M1. I would really love to see the analysis on this one! (The second one, obviously, not the hot garbo from the Bongcloud) All in all, really pogged content!

I'm pretty sure some members of chat weren't coming up with those moves themselves, I suspect engine analysis will say they made the most accurate move most of the time. and not because chat is filled with grandmasters.

dude friggin chat throwing the second game was so frustrating, chat's very own pot play.

That was a lot of fun, hopefully we see it or something similar again. I didn't analyze that full second game, but I think that bishop move at 29:48 is what ended up securing the draw, instead of going Rd1#, Kf2, Rf1# (protected by the bishop) and then trying to find some play with white's king in the middle of the board. Assuming we ignore the Kh1 shenanigans, at least.

twitch chat is a very interesting opponent actually. its not like a 1500 or a ‘1500’ rated bot. its a hivemind of 700s. It’s like an 800 except they dont hang their pieces. Very unique

except that file was never going to open without an egregious blunder from white, there was no way to undraw that game without a major blunder.

I know this is 6 months old but I'm very proud I found the winning line for black at 29:23. 1. Rd1+ Kf2, 2. Rf1+ Ke3, 3. f4+ e4, 4. Bc6+ d5, 5. Re1+ Kd4, 6. Rd1+ Kc5, 7. Bxd5 ... and then prepare for a very long and tough endgame eking out that advantage. I had to finish it out with the computer's help.

Chat needs to play lines anyone can see at the cost of being obvious to NL. It lead to chat doing what they need for chat to be safe rather than having the freedom to play something risky. Like the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise, they could save chat from death but at the cost of themselves.

For every chess video, the comments section should get 24 hours to vote on a move and play out a game one move per day against you

NL, did you watch Levy's video with Hikaru on gambits. They talk about the Englund Gambit and how no one would fall for it. It's literally the gambit that won your queen in the blitz video

I think the notation is O-O or O-O-O depending on short or long castle. Or you might just say e1-g1 and it'll recognize castling as a legal move

I think I've seen Eric Rosen play chess against viewers on lichess, so maybe there's options there if you want to do the postgame analysis.

You should play against subscribers. Eric Rosen tried and found that playing against subs there is no bongcloud. Also he played on lichess with normal bot where you could enter "Ba1"

@@Droid15243Z There is just no way to actually take any pawn unless the opponent goes crazy. The king guards the base pawn on the kingside, the bishop guards both pawns on the queenside, and the bishop is guarded by one of those pawns. Everything is on dark squares against a light square bishop. You can play a million moves and nothing is getting captured or promoted.
