I agree. I always thought of Shannon Sharpe as the slightly lesser brother. I've always felt that Sterling should be in for sure, and Shannon sort of a "No Objections" type pick for HOF.

@@trevorvogel8132 I don't know about that, I mean we are talking about Shannon being a top-5 TE of all time so he's more than deserving. But he himself said in his Hall speech that Sterling needed to be in, and that the selection committee needed to look into it. That was almost 15 years ago, and nothing. It's getting frustrating watching other players with similar or lesser impact on the game and with even SHORTER careers getting in (looking at you, Tony Boselli and Terrell Davis)... I've actually done research on this topic and have verifiable stats and facts to back this up, it is a TRAVESTY he's not in yet. I will not rest until he is.

Thanks for spotlighting Charlie Garner. Such an underrated career. He suffered through some nasty injuries, but when he was in the lineup he was a great weapon that could be utilized in so many ways.

Levon Kirkland was a freaking monster. The dude was basically a D-lineman playing middle linebacker.

Brian Westbrook will always be loved in Philly

This is the greatest series NFL throwback has ever come up with, there are so many great players that don't get the recognition they deserve and this channel does them justice. Thank you from one NFL to another

Cris Dishman was super underrated. He is known for giving up the HE DID WHAT play on Monday Night in 2000. But before that he was a solid corner. He played 12 years in the NFL and in 7 of them, he had over 4 interceptions. He was also very durable as well as he played in 170 career games which is a lot for a cornerback. He had 43 Career interceptions and brought a fierce edge early in his career with the Oilers and brought veteran leadership later in his career with the Vikings, Chiefs, and Redskins. Despite all of this, he only made two pro bowls and two all pro teams and in my opinion he deserved more accomplishments than that.

I love this series, I’ve been waiting since episode 3.

Simeon Rice was such an important piece on that 2002 Bucs defense. He didn't get there until 2001. As good as those Bucs defenses were before Rice, he gave them a legitimate pass rushing threat on the edge. His presence made an elite defense into one of the best defenses of all time. Simeon Rice should be in the hall of fame and i'll always stand by that.

I don't think Hines Ward was either of those things. Ward was and is regarded as a tough as nails, elite player. He's correctly rated and well appreciated.

Hines Ward is a great receiver. I forgot how much of a contribution he was with the Steelers. And I'm a Giants fan.

@@LiamDeege Like I said, my opinion. However, take away his 4 rings, and he's got average stats for a WR of his era. Harold Carmichael and Cliff Branch both had longer careers and put up better numbers. Yet; look how long it took for them to get into Canton.

I love that these videos are made and find it disgusting how true it is that these LEGENDS might be forgotten.

Hines and Clay both lead their franchises' top categories for their position rooms. Clay was just DOMINANT under Shottenheimer, and Hines took a little bit to blossom during the Kordell Stewart years, but there was no stopping him once he got going. At least 5 TDs with Kordell, Ben, Charlie Batch, Kent Graham, and Tommy Maddox all in single seasons. He's also the only 1k reception WR from the AFC in the Super Bowl era not in the Hall.

Met Brian Cox when he was on the Patriots in 2001 when I was a kid…he was a great player on that team…and despite his on-field attitude, was a super nice guy! Big fan ever since!

Westbrook was such a joy to watch during his Philly days. He’d be such a weapon in todays wide open offenses.

Leslie O'Neal had 130 some odd sacks but still can't get into the Hall ? The hell, man ?

I think the main reason for that is because there are so many good pass rushers during O’Neal’s era, but exactly he should be a HOFer

I was so little when Westbrook was playing but it’s kinda cool how he laid the blueprint for HB’s today they all can catch outta the backfield now

That's the story of TONS of RBs. Reminds me of Priest Holmes, Micheal Turner, Larry Johnson, Deshaun Foster, Eddie Lacy, Beanie Wells, David Johnson... Not many of those guys burned as bright as Arian Foster though.

This compilation shows just how much greatness on sundays gets overlooked, mostly because of short careers. A great player has 4 years of dominance, 2 decent years, a year marred by injury, and a decline year. A HOF player does more. I still think Terrel Davis deserved HOF because his 3 year peak is absurd. His running won 97 SB w 157 yards vs 123 passing by elway. Then he dominated 1998 with 2K yards and ran over the postseason. We never see a single RB power a SB run, rushing more then passing in multiple postseason wins. Even in the 70's the peak run to win superbowls era....its committees. Dont say emmit, look it up, Aikman passed for more then he ran in the postseason games and reg season.

@@jessecolvett6391 The only difference with Garner vs Dorsett is NEXT GEAR Olympic speed plus the thing when Tony sees nothing but open field he'd tend to hold the ball in one hand ala Walter Payton in his prime. That must've been a thing back then when those two badasses played in the pros.

Splendid Simeon Rice was a FREAK of nature in his PRIME in the NFL without question he's a 1st Round draft choice out of the University of Illinois from 1996 to 2007 but he did won a Super Bowl Ring with the Buccaneers in the 2002 year I haven't forgotten about this special player I really hope he'll get his DUE for the Hall Of Fame he is underrated that's for sure 15:45

Just to add onto how great of a player James Wilder was, when he retired he was Tampa's all time franchise leader in receptions AND receiving yards. Both of those records stood for decades until Mike Evans came to town.

These were some great selections. I can't remember who was profiled in the previous episodes, but these are the guys I thought I'd shout out. Don't think they were previously mentioned: LB Marvcus Patton: Excellent inside LB that played great for the Bills, Chiefs, and Redskins. LB Al Smith: One of the many talented players Houston had during the late 80's/early 90's. Fierce hitter that made plays. C Doug Smith: Played for the Rams through the 80's. Great C that should probably be in the HOF. C Tom Nalen: I know this guy should be in the HOF. Fabulous C that executed Shanahan's ZBS flawlessly. FB Tom Rathman: The 49ers cheat code on offense in the backfield was Tom Rathman, and Roger Craig in the mid to late 80's. Great FB. TE Frank Wycheck: Titans TE who was a load, but made his fair share of plays in the passing game. Awesome blocker. S Mike Minter: Quality enforcer that played his entire career with the Panthers. Great tackler for his size. LB Keith Bullock: Titans linebacker that was stellar in coverage. C Ray Donaldson: Longtime Colts C who was a mammoth gatekeeper. Played his final two years in Dallas where he won a SB.

You got some studs on there. I havent finished this video, but if Randall Godfrey isn't on there, he's another absolute STUD Titans LB along with Keith Bullock. And so long as we're mentioning TEs of a certain era, Ben Coates from the Pats was an absolute unit with reliable hands, that was hard to bring down. He was a 5x pro bowler and 3x all pro, not under rated in his day, but not well enough remembered since.

And man oh man I loved Trent Green. From 2002 to 2005 he was a top 5 QB. If he was put in better situations earlier, and didn't get hurt he could have thrived for a while longer. At least folks got to see could do in 2000 when he filled in for Warner, and later with the Chiefs. Sure they stacked a bunch of talent there. Regardless he was very productive.

Driver was so underrated. When receivers like Owens, Ochocinco, Moss, Smith and Ward were making a lot of noise and Harrison, Wayne, Bruce, Holt, Johnson (Calvin and Andre) and Fitzgerald were staring members of prolific and explosive offenses, Driver was just a constant contributor to a bunch of Packers teams that kind of faded into the background. I'm glad he won a Super Bowl eventually.

He isn't a HOF'ER and Mushin Muhammad was a more physically dominant WR and a better blocker.

Hines Ward was a menace as a college quarterback turned wideout at Georgia, so he became a Steelers legend. Charlie Garner was a beast as a powerful back with different teams. We almost forgot about Stephen Davis when he played for the Redskins. We all loved Keenan McCardell in a Jaguars uniform dominating the wideout position with Jimmy Smith and played along with Mark Brunell. Earnest Byner was a great player during his era as a pure running back who loved to run the ball. We didn’t know about Anthony Carter with the Vikings. Keith Jackson was a pass-catching machine as a Philadelphia Eagles. James Wilder was an all-time leading rushing as a Buccaneers, so nobody could really tackle him. We forgot how dominant Patrick Kerney was as a pass rusher machine and a sack machine. Donald Driver was a dominant wideout who came out of Alcorn State and played his whole career with the Packers, so he won a Super Bowl with the team. Clay Matthews has a bloodline of brothers and his son who also played in the league. Derrick Mason was a very successful wideout as a pass-catching machine. Shaun Alexander was a very talented running back who can’t nobody wanna tackle because of how good he was as a player. Trent Green played with Dick Vermeil as a Chiefs and Rams, so he got hurt by injuries and Kurt Warner took over from there. Ed McCaffrey has a bloodline of his sons becoming football players in their own right. Bryan Cox Sr. was a dominant linebacker in his own right as a tackling machine. Brian Westbrook is beloved in Philadelphia for his skills as a receiving back and running the ball as well, so he was an outstanding player during his time with the Eagles.🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

I think he would have top 10 career receiving stats, if not, top 3. Having Brett Favre helps significantly. Sterling would definitely have a Super Bowl ring and could have given the Packers a shot at a 90s dynasty. I also think we would not have seen the ridiculous Antonio Freeman catch since he was drafted to replace Sterling.

Mr.McCaffrey is one of the most underrated as well as Best WR to ever grace the football field IMO 25:22

A more recent player that I feel like has already been forgotten is Eric Decker. Dude was highly underrated in that Manning era for Denver.
