#4 was given an intentional foul for wrapping the leg, which is the right call. Fighting foul was for the kick, I’m not too familiar with that so I’m not sure if it was appropriate or not based on the rules.

She literally kicked her in the crotch, look at the last replay; it shows it clearly. That’s why she got the fighting foul call. I was on your side too until I saw that last replay. But I think both girls should’ve been tossed because #4 tried to wrap her legs up as well as trip her. It was a tough but fair screen and #4 got upset and threw some serious acting (they both kinda did), but the real work came after that screen.

Within one small period of time, FSU 4 demonstrates three things that make me dislike a sportsperson. First, there's cheating, cynically holding the other player, then there's a big overreaction, pretending to be hurt to get someone else in trouble, and finally the obnoxious taunting send-off at the end. I realise this is just one moment in a game, and I've seen a lot worse on each count, but this sort of behaviour is probably quite telling of a person's true character.

@@2LKY your second point lacks logic. if a male basketball player got knocked down from the impact of bumping into that Virginia player and then tightened his legs' grip of her ankles in an attempt to trip her, he would, without a doubt, trip her, which could ultimately cause a potential injury since the bone of a male is much longer, stronger, and heavier than that of a female. so your claim there that "there is enough force in anyone's legs to cause serious injury" is wrong. same could be said if the situation was reversed - a girl got knocked down and tried to trip a guy with her much weaker legs. hah. i almost laugh at the thought. the attempt would almost certainly be utterly unsuccessful.

When you have no earthly idea of what the written rules are that were recommended and approved by the governing board of the NCAA which is made up of coaches and NCAA administrators and not officials then these are the ignorant responses you get. The game officials here who by the way do not write the rules but only enforce, adjudicate or implement them made exactly the correct adjudication of the written rules although they may not seem fair unfortunately they are the rules. In this case the squeezing/clamping of the legs from the player on the ground to the player that did the kicking by rules is an intentional foul and the retaliation of the kicking by rules is a fighting foul such as a punch, slap, push from any part of the body and results in an ejection! Know the rules and you would and will understand in the future when the whistle blows.

Amazing how people only see what they want, when its clear what happened, even and especially the refs. The girl in purple ran into a screen and fell down. She then grabbed ahold of the girl in whites leg, and when the girl in white tried to go and get in on the play, she couldnt go anywhere because her leg was being held by the other player, which caused her to partially lose her footing and thats why her foot came down the way it did. The only person that intentionally fouled was the girl in purple, and what do you know, she fully got away with it. People will get tired of the shit calls in all levels of sports, and then the sports machine will die, as it should. Sports are a good thing, but we are far too invested in them. Nobody should make the money they do for what they do. A quote comes to mind when i think about sports. It was by a roman emperor i believe, or it was in a movie. Doesnt matter, the meaning is still the same. The quote goes like this: "are you not entertained!?" Meaning the end of our society is near, and this is how they keep us distracted from it. If you dont like what i say, move on, dont read it again, complain to someone who cares, i dont.

I don't think 90% of this chat watched the full video, Or don't understand the deference between holding/tripping, and hitting/kicking... All 33 had to do was not kick her in the groin. If you think holding someone's leg/tripping is as bad or worse than kicking someone there, you're just plain wrong. That was a pretty light taunt, too, and not ejection-worthy. 33 did a hockey cross check out there and then kicked the "victim" while the victim held her leg a bit and waved bye. The league should review this. This was called incorrectly and #4 should be disqualified for the next 3 games she was screened properly and fell down after running into a wall of a correct screen position by the offence player. Then she hooked her legs around the taller player trying to possibly injure her, tripping her almost and she tried to pull her leg free the action caused the impact. She was incorrectly being restrained by the #4. There should have been a foul on # 4 and a technical foul on #4 and number four faked like she was hurt. She should have been immediately ejected from this game and then she did the unsportsmanlike wave due to the incorrect call by the officials of ejecting the wrong player. #4 is a hot mess of a player who plays dirty and got away with it. The officials should be reviewed and reprimanded as it looks like it was a rush to judgement call. I have no dog in the fight. But it sure looks like the officials really blew this sequence and did an injustice.
