take a look at XandoFootball...the videos are long but trust me you will learn to play the game in a way different way. He was 100 W 16L in Regulars months ago. Now he transitioned to MUT.

@@naz3388yeah I was trying to figure out why my curl flats and seam flats arent guarding where they’re supposed to. Like for example they never guard corner routes when they should. And now I found out I have to call all these adjustments just so my zones do what they should already be doing without the adjustments.

There’s really not much more you can do with madden. So you have to make the play style almost like chest. 2k too I remember nba live then once they switched to the 2k the hardest part is shooting styles

Hi I’m new to your channel, and madden in general. What does match do on your defense? I’ve been keeping it off because the EBook I have said to keep it off I saw you have it on and would be nice to know what it does so I can turn it off and on to adjust to how my opponent is playing. Thank you for this video tho I’ve been struggling with check routes and those instant snap seam passes.

I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong but I believe it plays a man like coverage but in a zone, so if your slot corner is in a matched curl flat or seam flat and someone ran a streak that went through that zone it will run with the streak until another route enters the zone/area the slot corner is supposed to be playing. The E-book you have may have had it off if they used all 3 zone drops because match doesn't activate on anything you put a zone drop on. So if you drop your blue flats to 30 and your purple flats to 5 (like in the vid), the only thing that will play match (if you have it on) are the hook curls/vert hooks etc. I'm pretty sure this is correct, but I may be wrong. Hope this helps.

Match is like zone but since it’s a video game and they can’t seem to put common sense in players match basically lets a defender play zone and break off into man coverage. In older maddens you could play zone and someone get open under or over the zone but the player won’t be smart enough to just go with it like a real life player actually would. Let’s say you are running cover 3 corner routes technically can still get open If you know what you are doing. But in match it’s much harder to get open because the player doesn’t just play the zone they will play the corner as well. The outside third being the zone that’s played but switches off to man how it actually should be played. Not AI being dumb and sitting in the zone and then playing the ball once it’s thrown. In match you basically play the zone and once you hit your zone it basically just switches to man coverage. It’s not 100% man coverage so don’t ever think of it that way. But it sort of goes to man coverage. Best way I can explain it is let’s say zone gets you 10 yards reach to the receiver but match with get you is interception or pass break up range every time if you are in the right zone coverage and have the right zone drops. You also need to know how to shade inside or outside and to play under the route or over the route cover 4 for example you have a deep cloud. Not a cloud flag but a deep cloud and 4 deep zones. You would want your deep clouds to play underneath because you already have 4 deep zones over top. This squeezes the target area to drop the ball in much tighter. You can get a pass break up from underneath or over top OR A INTERCEPRION FROM EITHER OR RESPECTIVELY. Madden itself isn’t hard. Just gotta learn the coverages, what they do and don’t do and simplify it for yourself. Don’t make it hard. Defense is about limiting space without compromise pass or run defense so balance. Offense is about creating space and exploiting it. I know I veered off topic and went in circles a few times but hope this helps.

Shading technically only works in man. You dont actually shade zones. Now you can come out in man and individually shade then adjust a zone assignment if thats what you want to do.

Zan were you aware of bracket coverage is in madden? Real life defenses are in madden . Push defenses as well

@@Javen2600 bracket coverage is real simple for a man to explain. Just go to cover one Robber of some sort and understand the concepts. The outside cornerback who's going to play the outside receiver to the outside and if there is a slot that slot nickel is going to play the receiver to the inside to bake into the robber for post routes which causes the blanket. You got the Deep safety over top to help out and you have man routes that push into each other so the robber is in play

Push calls involve matching. So no, you would not want to shade your match coverage. It would not impact very much.

i believe you can still shade with push calls. in normal 3x2 sets im not sure if it would work cause i only utilize push with 4x1, but in 4x1 when you man the weakside backer/nickle/dime corner, you can still shade a cover 2 to have hard flats and push works fine
