I'm not a Russian, and I can't speak Russian but saying 'hello' and 'goodbye', and I still have to admit, that Radio Tapok's version might be better than Sabaton's. There's so much intensity when he sings the Attack of the Dead Men, and even if I don't understand the language, I can still feel the emotion and the determination that the song carries - To Fight Beyond The Death.

There is a fan made video that uses footage from the movie "Zulu" and they did a great job. Speaking of fan and other videos, there are at least two videos for this song "Attack of the Dead Men" that use movie and/or documentary clips that were either about this action or one very similar.

" there was only 100 of them ?!?" Well, then you should listen to "Sabaton - Resist and Bite" about the "Chasseurs Ardennais". They were only 40 :) From Sabaton: "They fought so bravely and on such a large front, that they tricked the axis into believing that they were facing a force much larger than 40 rifles strong. When finally they were captured and their captors asked them -”where are the others?” they simply laughed and answered. -”There are no others, we are all!”. The song gets its title from their motto Resiste Et Mords, in English, Resist and Bite" From Wikipedia: "They fought so bravely that German general Erwin Rommel said, "They are not men, they are green wolves." A unit of only 40 men held off the combined arms of the German forces, including General Rommel's famed armored "Ghost Division" for 18 days and only surrendered after running out of ammunition."

Oh yes, the Polish uprising in Warsaw, which in fact was not an uprising, the Germans didn’t use equipment against the Poles, and in fact didn’t touch them for a while, and only then they began to clear the neighborhoods that the Poles held ... Belarusians smoke bamboo aside, from such partisan activities! And one more thing - there was a battle, I don’t remember the details, but the Soviet troops used tactics - they scattered rifles, aiming them with a muzzle at the side of the German troops in order to create the feeling that there were more than battalion ... there seemed to be around 20 people, and they crawled from one rifle to another and shot to create the appearance of a large compound.

You didn't understood what was really amazing about it. The fact that they were 100 is not what maked this amazing. I'll explain the story since the beginning. Osowiec was mass attacked 3 times: the 2 first charges, did with a mix of infantry and artillery, didn't worked. So as the russians didn't had gas masks, for the 3rd offensive they used gas. Almost everybody were killed and only 100 remained thanks to rags they used as gas masks. BUT (and this is the whole thing) they still were affected by the gas and were all dying inside, they were at a state looking and being more like zombies than anything else. Then with most organs already destroyed, blood runing throw their holes, eyes plenty of blood, they fixed their bayonets on their rifles as 7000 germans were advancing and charged. This is not how good they were that maked them win the battle unlike usual. What maked them win is the horrific vision they offered to the germans. In fact, The 7000 germans seeing 100 dead bodies (well almost) charging them was the most terrifying thing they ever saw (and I think it would be the same for everybody). And seeing that, they ran, being bayoneted at their back and being killed by their own barble wires at their front. Everybody died at the end, the 100 men died killing the last germans they could, before dying by the gas effect. This is what maked this massacre one of the most epic and horrific battle ever in world wars.

If you would like another awesome Sabaton song, try out The Lost Battalion. It's about a battalion that got cut off in the Argonne forest in 1918, and only about 40% of the soldiers made it out alive. They also made the drum beat entirely out of weapons (bayonet stabbing for cymbals and various explosions for the bass and snare). Absolute banger of a song as well!

The real horror of this battle wasn’t really mentioned😂 the german troops were marching onto a fortress, all live in front of them was gone dead birds lying around. The gas cloud was around 30 meters high (as I think) and out of this „No men’s land“ Russian soldiers attacked without order spitting blood and even parts of their lungs out...

Sabaton - En Livstid i Krig (live in Sweden is a must) is the swedish version of A lifetime at war, and it's magical when preformed in Sweden. Since you liked 82nd and screaming eagles for their depiction of American units, I'm suprised you havn't done "Devil Dogs" yet.

Imagine being a German soldier, thinking you just killed your foe, only to then find them standing up, *literally* coughing up their own lungs, blood pouring out of every orifice and stumbling towards you with a bone-chilling stare. No wonder they bailed, only to then be killed by their own traps, barb wire, and possibly even friendlfy fire.

I read a comment on the original video here on youtube made by someone called "sir alcatraz"... and they wrote like this: Imagine, for a second, that you are a German soldier, freshly drafted and sent to the Eastern Front. Imagine your first real combat experience is to take a fort from a bunch of outnumbered Russians, who defend themselves ferociously. Imagine seeing the gas streaming into the fort, knowing that the enemy has no gas-masks available to them and that nothing will survive in there. Imagine advancing with your comrades after a while, certain of victory and prepared to take the now defenseless fort. And then...you hear a cry of war. Out of the fort, a wave of soldiers in Russian uniforms charges your way, rifles and bayonets raised. You feel shocked and confused at first: Did enemy reinforcements arrive? Did the defenders have gas-masks after all? But as they draw closer, your confusion gives way to horror. For the soldier's faces are marred with chemical burns, their eyes bloodshot and red, glistening with rage and hatred. Blood pours out of their mouths in crimson red streams, as their throats release a cry of the damned. And with mind-numbing terror you realize: These aren't reinforcements. These are the fort's defenders, horribly killed by the gas your army launched. And still, their corpses charge on, dead and yet not, ready to wreak vengeance upon their killers. Upon you. Run, while you still can. For the Dead Men will have no mercy...
