I watched at least 50+ videos on bleaching shortcuts, and yours was the simplest. Very nice! Moreover, I called barbers and beauticians for this look in my area (Charlotte, NC). They all quoted me $200.00 and up for this style! I asked why so much? I didn't receive a reasonable answer. I say hell to the no, no, no. I will do it myself! Thank you for the tutorial.

This only works if you have short hair to start with. Anything longer than an inch will NOT bleach properly ---- because of body heat.

It does take a lot of skill and training to do this correctly. If you have the right hair to start with, all will go well, and you can do it yourself (if your hair is short). But for all other cases, it is best to find a stylist you trust to do it for you, and to expect to pay for this service! If you have short hair, $200 may be a little too much.

I also have a question. The reason your hair looks so slick is because your hair is buzzed all the way down to the lowest it could possibly go correct? Because I just went to get my hair cut and dyed and I showed the stylist a picture of a girl with her hair just like yours and she was acting like she didn’t know to cut my hair shorter so it can look like yours

It is extremely important that you find a competent stylist that you feel comfortable with. Most shops will give you a free consultation, so you can get to know the stylist, and discuss what you want. When YOU are comfortable, then get it done; not before!

Heyy, and being that my hair was cut that low when I bleached it just made my hair straight and to style it I just used some mousse, brushed it, put a durag on and let it dry ❤️

I personally wouldn’t do 40 volume because it is very strong and bleaches really quickly so I would recommend a 20 volume or 30 volume

You can use 20, 40, 60 or more volume peroxide. But each higher volume is much stronger and, while faster, may dissolve your hair. So be careful!!

You CAN bleach it to the pale yellow stage, although most times you will want to tone down that yellow with another shade, such as purple to counteract the yellow (remember the solour wheel).

When you died your hair platinum blonde did it burn?

After that horrible bleaching session, your scalp may be a bit tender. Perhaps wait a day before doing the final colour. Usually, it will sting a little, but your scalp is tough! Protect the hairline (which is more sensitive). Try a small spot and see how it feels..... wait, if you can.

I cut my hair before the color and being that I cut my own hair , so I didn’t do any shape ups or anything between cuts I would just let my hair grow until it’s time to cut and bleach again

The new part of the hair that grows from the root will be as it always was! So it all depends on how fast your hair grows. On the average, it takes about 4 weeks to grow enough to show, and it's time. Some people actually like that two-tone look.... whatever turns your crank!! But remember to only bleach the new growth --- hair that has already been bleached light yellow cannot tolerate any more bleaching and will dissolve away! Great! Free haircut! then follow the same procedure as before! Good luck!

This all depends how dark and how strong your hair is. The best I can say is "when it is light enough" (wash a strand first to know for sure). After about an hour, remove it and apply a fresh mixture --- it will be stronger to bleach more!

The name is not that important.... as long as it does the job. Blue bleach may fool you into thinking it is light (the purple will counteract the yellow), so judge carefully.

It may start to look yellow over time, so counteract it with a purplish shampoo. Otherwise, anything mild will work.... your hair is now quite fragile! So be gentle!

A toner is a dye in that it adds some colour to your hair. Since you don't want a yellow, use something with purple in it to counteract the yellow, or you can use any other tone you wish. A toner is a very light, pastel shade of colour. Study the colour wheel.

Just a little correction. It is IMPOSSIBLE to dye your hair to platinum. IMPOSSIBLE!! "To dye" means to add colour, and since your hair is already so dark, you cannot make it lighter by adding more colour! That much is obvious! In order to get a lighter shade, you have to REMOVE the dark first! That's only logical! Removal of colour is bleaching, no matter if you like it or not! So after the colour is removed (and left in a yellowish stage), you CAN add a tone to camouflage that yellow by adding purple to make it grey, or platinum (same shade). THAT is how this works! You know that --- be honest in your videos!!!
