In Part 1 ( • Plastics and Ceramics ... ) Andrew showed us some very simple plastic laminates and then ceramic/plastic laminates to look at some principles of how these materials work in a ballistics setting.
In this part, Andrew cuts into the ceramic/plastic samples to have a look inside at what sort of damage takes place within them and how they work.
Please DO NOT experiment with this sort of thing, it could lead to serious injury during testing. This was mentioned in video 1 and is repeated here.
