Raised bed plastic layers are standard equipment on vegetable farms. This video shows set up, and use.

Excelente Mujeres Agropecuarias, muy buena la máquina
The farm I work at got the fertilizer pellet spread for the mulcher and we were told by the seller that it would fit with the drip tape spool on the machine. It does not fit it interferes with the spool and will not fit on

There are several benefits from using plastic. Weed barrier, warms soil in cooler weather, conserves water.
I hate how this simple stuff is just so expensive... there is zero reason these things should cost so much.
