Works, but if you put too much voltage charge leaks to the internal bottle wall and stays there. The leaves then may not close for long time. Add two paper disks glued to the internal wall, in front of the two leaves, and connected to ground (outer bottom of the bottle), and this does not occur anymore.

what happens if, instead of using glass jar if we use any plastic related things.... whether works or not?....plz any one rply

@@peasea9394 they don't have lead they have graphite.. Graphite is a good conductor of electricity.

I had made an electroscope. I had made it all out of conductor material but it was not working. Can anybody tell me why?
