I did my badges matte black in the white MUX and it looks great. I like the dark grey finish at the front of my MUX but want to do the black on the chrome strips. Will have to think about how I do this! Nice job as always!! Little tip is to keep the cab in warm water between coats and even after you shake it do a test spray prior to each coat to ensure you don’t get splatter

Glad they finally came out with a dedicated gloss finish vs using the glossifier . Much better results . Alot of people sometimes prefer the gloss look over matte for wheels , emblems , even interior accent trim

@@xH1TM4Nx707 Hi Sorry for the late reply. I just placed the can in warm water between coats. So for example i waited around 10mins between coats. During that time the plasti dip can was sat in warm water. Then take it out, shake it a little and continue spraying, then back in the warm water (obviously making sure the water is warm by running the warm water from the tap and not letting it cool down).

Hey mate! When I tried to do more door handle it just dropped like crazy and had a very faint look to it. Is it possible it wasn’t shaken enoigh, it’s not seeming to stick like yours did. Cheers

I used the Motip version on chrome trim around the grill. But it doesn’t get that flat and shiny. It is not matte but something in between.

I have some spots (I'm fl) from the sun on my trunk and couple maks on my bumper cause some A-hole rolled into me. Also my other car has a scratch on the good from someone sitting on it. Would this would to spot treat it or would I need to repaint the whole thing. If I can spot streat do you collor match. Thanks

Is it not like regular plastidip with the first coat? Usually only a very light base layer

Doing a chrome delete on my front grill tomorrow so watching this and hoping I have good results! Just picked up this Glossy one at Walmart for about $8 including tax. Can't beat the price.

I'm curious too. I have painted my chrome badges/trim on my black truck and they end up looking brownish against the black paint. Curious if anyone else has had this issue or if it is strictly because I painted over chrome.

Looks great, better than the chrome fangs for sure. Bigger Q is how sturdy it is for cleaning? If you can remove it so easy, what happens every time it gets a gurney? Why not just paint the thing?

hey mate the rear is up at the fuel filler and the front goes up into the engine bay behind the front driver headlight - so not bad at all front factory :) If you're doing deeper crossings then yeah one of those 4x kits right at the top of the engine bay would be the go.

Some says before you start , dip it in a warm water for 10 to 15 minutes, shake, test it, and then your good to go.

I used this and the nozzle dripped badly. Really annoying because when you spray it then shoots blobs on to the area you are spraying

Is there any difference in how to use the plastidip if using the glossy instead of the matte? I want to do my emblems in glossy to match other parts of the vehicle but don't want to make things more complicated.

Nope basically the same 👍 The good bit with the glossy is it's got the gloss already in where as the matte you needed to add glossifier as more coats over the top

I can stress enough by putting your Plastidip and Glossifier in a bucket of hot water for 20 minutes prior to using... Its a huge difference how it comes out smoothly and dries smoothly.

How durable is this coating on rims? Also can it resist winter conditions?

I've had this on rims before, on road it's not too bad, a quick touch up every few months was all that was needed

I just did my chrome badges with Plasti dip glossy and the finished product looks matte or satiny at best, definitely not glossy. Followed all the right steps as far as I know so not sure why.

Hey so i did the same thing, mine i did outside with very minimal wind and pretty low humidity and it ended up looking a little matte instead of glossy (i did use plastid glossy)

The ability to remove it seems good, but after the first stone chip, bug splat or high pressure car wash, you will probably end up popping down to bunnings for a can of kill rust gloss black or equivalent.

Have run the matte version of various parts of Jeeps in the past (even wheels) for years and held up fine. Just the odd spray for touch ups

Yeah probably, unless it was the bit that has the slide metal on metal when you open and close. Paint would be better for that kind of thing
