Planting Up The Chicken Coop
By accident, I found myself in the right place at the right time. Home Depot has trees and shrubs on a 50% reduction. Watch as we take advantage of the sale and bring to life the front side of our chicken coop before its move in ready. With Hydrangeas, Monkey Grass, Boxwood and Ajuga, we give this little coop a lot of charm in just a few hours.

I’ve probably made this comment before but thanks for not using music and letting us enjoy the ASMR of shovels in the dirt, pots getting tossed to the side, robins singing and all the other garden sounds. 😊
"I love the story behind a bike being left for the last time." That's poetry. As if your beautiful garden wasn't proof enough, you've got an artist's soul.
As a gardener myself, I can appreciate the grunts and sighs you include in the footage! 😂😂😂 Your garden is an oasis, beautiful! ❤ from South Africa 🇿🇦
"It is spilling over with love". Your description is absolutely accurate and just wonderfully said. Love following your garden story 😊
Garden rooms!! My favorite and makes me jealous!! You obviously have an amazing talent/eye for composition, color, and texture. Love this channel so much. Thank you for sharing your hard work with us.

I couldn't agree more. Your eye is very creative and it shows in your garden. I love how the large rocks make such a statement and rest the eye even though it's a rock. LOL
I can’t wait to watch you and your garden every time!!! I look forward to every post. I’m a 60 year old gardener in Texas. I dream of being able to accomplish what you have in your garden it takes me years. lol you are my super hero gardener.

So sweet!!!
Just wanted to add that there are a lot if KZreadrs out there just showing themselves planting this or that. While there is nothing wrong with that, what you do in creating a story is so much more entertaining and enjoyable to watch! Thanks so much for sharing it all with us.
I really love watching a man make his wife's dreams come true
I love it Mike! Your imagination has no bounds...lol. Turned out lovely, wish I could see it in person.
Looks great! The plants are beautiful & the large size stones add so much interest. I agree a few more sprigs of liriope would look good. Can’t wait to watch the honeysuckle vine take off. Thanks for sharing your talent & your garden!!
How magical, I could spend all day in your garden ❤
I always watch your videos several times. Trying to instill some of your creativity into my brain. lol Your garden is so beautiful and such an inspiration to your viewers! 🥰
I love it! I am slowly adding garden rooms as I have to acclimate my husband to each creation. He always loves what I have done, however I cannot tell him my plan ahead of time because he just doesn’t get my visions lol 😂.
Love Love Love your style of gardening...Gorgeous!
I love everything about it.wonderful job well done
As always, Mike - so inspired by you. Now I have some ideas to work on outside today. Thank you!
Living in Lawrence and seeing how you’re creating a beautiful garden locally your channel brings me hope that I can do something with my boring yard. Thank you so much!
Hi Mike, I have to say that I also stop and pick up rocks, boulders and wood pieces.Since I have been visiting your garden i have changed my whole landscaping because of the ideas, and plants. You always inspire me doing your own creative thing. Those hydrangeas are beautiful!I noticed the red globes how magnificent are those! Everything is just beautiful, as always!🕊️💚🇺🇲
Wow I love this! Just beautiful!
You knocked it out of the park again Mike! I love the charm you have created, kind of like a fairy tale 🌺
Thank you for taking us along with your creative process in this area! It is totally charming. 😊❤
It's so beautiful I love it.😊
Absolutely gorgeous! Kudos.
It look so beautiful! Your garden is stunning!
Awesome! Thank you for sharing. It's beautiful!
Love, love, love. ❤
Beautiful ❤
Beautiful as always! I think your next project should be some rainwater barrels attached to all of your structures. We are like you, collecting things everywhere, so we ended up with HUGE containers that our water company was replacing. Also a 100 gallon stock tank and 50 gallon barrel from a car wash. I think we have 1000 gallons total around our acre garden. We have built our garden up from a bare canvas over 52 years.
Turned out really pretty! Those boulders and stones were cumbersome but add so much character to the bed! Another great project❤❤❤
Love it
Love it!!❤❤
Just amazing! Your garden is so unique and inspiring. Thank you for making it yours and not like everyone else’s Gardens. It’s perfect.
Incredible! As a garden design student i appreciate all yhe texture and plants spilling into ome another seamlessly from the get go! And yhe variation in the heights, its just incredible! 👏🏾
Magical and inspirational😍
Turned out beautiful ❤.
Dang, no sales at my HD in Chesapeake, VA. Looks so natural....love all the huge rocks too.
Love all the plants! I think I need ajuga in my garden now😂 . The stones, the driftwood and all the beautiful plants are truly enhancing the chicken castle. Thank you for sharing
This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the combination of all the plants and it looks so lush and filled in. I think I need to head over to Home Depot!
So beautiful 😊
I am LOVING this! And your choice of plants! Beautiful!!
I love it! Looks like it's been there for years. everythig all tucked in together, all the rock and the wood setting. Perfect scene! I love your ideas. Yes i think also you need to put some more liriope along the sides, and maybe down a few feet another little bunch of it,, thanks for sharing Genie : )
Install gratification with plants while gardening equals instant satisfaction… patience is gardening is not realistic 😂
Your creativity is unreal. Hello from NY. You offer great advice about zoning for plants and trees.
Every time I watch your videos I’m truly impressed❤️❤️❤️
I also just added some lirope to my front yard garden space. Love too that it's evergreen. Your new plantings look really great!
Love the Liriope along the front walk to the door!
Oh you are so strong, but please 🙏 take care of your back and knees!!! But it is so beautiful, I just love it!!!!!!!
Great selections💕💕💕
So much fun for us to watch what you are doing!!
Mike. I had to take a Tylenol just watching your back breaking work. Absolutely awesome. Should be an air bib, or very spoiled chickens. Tfs cheers
Love it all. Yes to the window boxes.
I absolutely love it!!! I could spend some good reading time in your space.
loveeeeee your design eye. so wonderful to see your projects come to life. Would be awesome to see you incorporate more native plants!
Whoa! When did I miss you putting in the red gazing balls? So cool! Yes this speaks to me. I love monkey grass so much and pretty sedge. I love all the different colors and textures. You really did it again with the new plantings and of course the rocks. I could just sit in a rock pile and play all day. Off to Home Depot tomorrow and hope I find bargains but if not I’m still getting my monkey grass. Lol
The liriope is a clump form and is going to increase in size to double what it is now, so you really don’t need to pack it in so tight. I totally understand the instant gratification, but I learned the hard way! As a woman with physical limitations it’s even harder digging things out when it gets too crowded than putting them in 😂. Love the results so far 💕!
I love all your outdoor living rooms... Beautiful!!!
That Home Depot 50% off sale must be regional or on a store by store basis. I've been to two of them the last couple of days, and neither had a 50% off sale or trees or shrubs. Bummer.
It is completely charming and whimsical. It softens the red and yellow wood scape of this creative chicken coop. When do the chickens show up? Also love the red gazing balls sprinkled throughout the greenery. Always a joy Mike!
Ok I love it but most of all what draws me into your viedos is your imagination it’s like no others on you tube keep them videos coming thank you 🦋
Your word, "Charming", captures the essence of your garden and all it's glory!! You have the best garden channel and I always look forward to another video!! Fan for a few years, SE Pennsylvania
Gorgeous!!! Love it all!!
Wow. This took my breath away. I thought to myself at first what's wrong with the look? Nothing was wrong with it, but you just leveled the space up and made it better. This is the first video of yours I have watched and the thumbnail is what got me to click on the video. It was inspirational.
Love your foresight!! Very interesting!!!
Hi Mike! I just want to say that the garden is so beautiful, your inmagination and creativity is incredible, your wife is probably so happy with the garden. Keep doing a very good job, I just love it ☺️⚘️🌺
Your whimsical design style reminds me of the detailed vignettes Disney creates at its parks along the ride queues. ✨
You’ve created such an enchanting garden and your whimsical designs align with mine. I’m in the finishing process of my she shed which is a part of my secret garden. I’m running out to HD to purchase some more hydrangeas as I have them everywhere in my more cultivated garden. Can’t wait for your next video! Happy gardening everyone❤️TYFS
Just beautiful 👍💕
Great job! I love it👍😎❤️
I love your garden!!
I want a chicken coop ❤😂❤😂❤😂love it!!
Love the rooms AND the hallways. Beautiful 🌸
Just fabulous 💕
At 24:09 I see the Cheshire Cat face carved on that flat rock sitting between two Hydrangeas! Don't even have to squint😅.
I LOVE your gardening style, so magnificent, whimsical and just simply stunning! Great job! I love the touch the rocks adds. If I was close I would love to tour it in person to experience the beauty in real life. You're such an inspiration, I pray God blesses me with a husband as amazing like you to bring my garden imagination to life...lol Until then, I am doing what I can to create a life I love...and a garden that brings me joy😊 Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it tremendously!
I’m new to your channel and love it!!!I absolutely love everything you have done with your garden ❤… looking forward to watching more of your beautiful garden!!!!😍👍
I get such inspiration from your garden. Thanks so much for sharing. Love it! PS I ran to the 50% off sale and just planted my purchases yesterday. Keep motivating me please. Ha ha 😊
I'm a fan of ajuga as well. I'm working on ground covers for my gardens and picked some up for my shade garden. Can't wait to see it bloom next spring. 😊
So jealous of your Home Depot sales… I’m in Southern CA and they never have sales on plants as we can plant year round…
Its wonderful ❤
Absolutely beautiful!!!
Lovely
It all looks amazing 🥰
I love it. Looks awesome ❤😊
Hello! I’m in Northern CA and HD never discounts plants. I wish! I SO enjoy watching you design your garden!
Hello yes looks very charming great job
You did such a great job!
Look gorgeous!
Beautiful 🌼🌸
LOVE YOUR CONTENT!!! 10 all across the board!
Love trumpet vine but you never get rid of it and it spreads to all the neighbors.
You won’t need more lirope! They are very invasive here in my garden in Kentucky remember first year sleep second creep then leap!
You are a very talented gardener. I love the new plantings around the chicken coop. Question: are you planning to use the door on the front of the coop or is that for decoration only? You and your wife need to give tours! Beautiful!!
Wisteria is Beautiful BUT it ALWAYS BOLTS and takes over as much territory as it wants too. Even the “non invasive” newer ones ARE invasive!
Ahhh this is icing on this already charming cake! So inspirational😎😎
So very excellent! SUGGESTION: You may want to provide the honeysuckle vine with something to grow up on...strings, wire mesh, etc. You could paint it the same color as the chicken coupe. Love your channel! 💚😊💚
Beautiful! I love your hobbit doors😍😍😍l’m building a secret garden, that door will look beautiful, thank you for sharing your beautiful garden with us😍😍😍😍
Wow its all awesome
First time seeing this channel, watched 3 videos in a row. You need a turquoise chicken on front of yellow door for a pop of color. Giving me a lot of ideas for my garden 😁 add a rusty bob wire on little fence,😊
Lov the fence as is
Just wow
