Love that Jason said how happy he was just being there working on the project and listening to the birds! Also loved and agreed with Casey liking her neighbors yet loving having a private sanctuary 😊
“Are we getting a pool?” 🙈❤️ No, just trees! 😆 I am shocked they grow that much each season! They are going to look awesome!
Thank you for tip of using the leg with the auger! 😎👍 Yeah...my wrist has had a few unexpected jolts. Beautiful gardens and beautiful family! 😊 Thanks for sharing.
Exciting! Love that they grow so big so fast. Impressive.
Thanks for the tip Jason! I haven't started using an auger yet but now I know what to do!
You are truly blessed, gorgeous area, way to go!! ♥️
Great informative video Jason. The natural sanctuary and wildflowers behind the greenhouse are beautiful.
What a lovely family 🙏
Best auger tip I've ever heard!
Very cool idea for some quick privacy 😁 Thanks for sharing... really had Casey going there in the beginning 🤣🤣🤣
I didn't know that, about the pineapple salvia, with the flowers! I have one I just planted this year and it is such a healthy and growing bush on its own, with no maintenance! Can't wait to see the flowers!
Who knew growing willows was that easy, or fast. I have a pond so maybe I'll have to try it! Thanks
Thanks for the video Jason really enjoyed it those willows are amazing the property is beautiful and the girls are growing so fast they are so cute
We planted these for a quick barrier between our house and our 1200 head hog nursery. They worked beautifully and we took many cuttings from them. Unfortunately an ice storm several years ago damaged them and they never were the same again. They got very twiggy and dropped a lot of small branches whenever the wind would blow. We left some by a grove of established trees, and are replacing others in our house yard with Colorado Spruce. I love your garden space, and hope you have good luck with your willows.
You have such a beautiful place to call home! The fields are a pretty view too. We had three Dappled Willow shrubs that we loved but they got way too huge for the spot so eventually had to remove them after years of pruning seasonally. I miss them though!
Hello my friend. This is more than just a video, you put love and passion into it. Great job! New power for your channel. Good luck 👍
That is cool idea my friends.👍🙏🇺🇸
My neighbor gave me some Willow cuttings. I cant wait to plant them!
Just found your channel- wow I love your ZEN garden. I’m a healer and can feel the energy trough your videos and the grounding, I love it ❤ So beautiful- and your house, wow ❤

Great video
After watching the previous video of you starting those whips, we had a wind storm and the neighbors globe willow dropped some branches, so i took one of those and stuck it in a bucket of water, it took a bit but it did sprout roots and now its in a 2 gal bucket, I just have to figure out where its gonna live👍🏼😉
Good job
That’ll prove great for wind breaking too 😀
😅🤣😂 We Love you guys!!
Agree with Casey! Privacy is a big deal. Have fun guys. I would love a to. If willow whips
Those golden raspberries are the best! Nature’s candy!!
Jason and Casey, I love having privacy around my yard, especially since I live in town. I'm curious, have you ever planted curly willow branches that you can purchase from the floral department? They root just as easily and are great to use indoors for decor or floral arrangements. If you haven't, why not try a few stems (they're inexpensive), it might be a fun thing to do. Have a fun week ahead! ~Margie🌞🌿🦋

We have! It’s funny you say that we have a couple that are huge that we planted up a few years ago they look amazing!
I'm going to try to create a willow tree too :)
on some drills you can set the clutch too
❤
You saw ruts, I saw roots. 😁
Wow thank you for the information on how fast the willow grows, do you think I can plant willows In my small yard and very close neighbors that I also want to feel private in my small space.
@TheLawrenceGardenFarm

Yes you can, they don’t get very wide, and you can prune/cut branches every spring to shape them the way you want
2:29. "This is where... I cut a branch..." I thought for sure he was about to say "This is where I cut a bitch."
I would mulch around those trees to smother the grass surrounding them. They will steal water and nutrients from those tiny trees and they won't do as well...
👍😊🌳🌳🌳
thank you for your video. What is the hardiness zone for the Willow whips?? I live in zone 5b. thanks

We are in zone five a they have done fine here for the past couple Winters, you should be good
We are in desperate need of privacy from our neighbors! We need something fast growing (trees or shrubs). We live in NE FL. We have sweet vibernum along back fence and they are great but very wide and take up a lot of yard space. We want something not as wide. Please help! 😊
So we just bought 36 acres, and I want to plant a privacy screen along a county road so the neighbors aren't tempted to hunt our land. 🙂 But we'll only be going out there every couple of weeks. So we can't water daily. Is this possible for them to grow only being watered at this frequency?
Thank you for the video!! Could you suggest where someone could buy hybrid willows whips? Since we had a tree fall in our backyard a few years ago, we now need a new privacy barrier again. For reference, I live very close to you. Thanks!!!

Can hybrid willow cuttings be planted 10-12 inches apart? It's hard to get a consistent answer on this. Some say close together is best for a tall "fedge", while others say they should only be planted 3-5ft apart.

closer keeps them as a nice fence, but one of our favorite areas is where we have them spaced 4-6 feet. the reason for this is because of how we started the tree cuttings. we put 3-4 cuttings together, and they got huge! space allows the tree to bush out more rather than just go straight up and narrow. you can trim them like a bush too. anywhere you cut they keep growing from. A great idea is to plant a row where they are 2-4 feet apart, but then doing a row behind staggered. This will give you more winter coverage. Because in winter, when they have no leaves, one row is easy to see through. I hope this helps. They’re like weeds, so there’s really no right or wrong way. the best coverage over all though is the staggered double row
Do the trees affect the light in the garden?
I really appreciate learning about these fast growing trees - is it a specific willow or will this work with all willows?

@@TheLawrenceGardenFarm how tall and wide do they get?
What kind of willows ? I have corkscrew willows , although they’re pretty, they don’t grow that fast
Would love to buy a bunch of those tree sprouts off you. I'm north of Winnipeg. How do we meet. If don't live crazy far away?
Cool! What kind of willows? How big do they get?
@TheLawrenceGardenFarm

Hybrid Willows, they grow 6 to 8 feet per year and they get to be 30 to 40 feet
I have a French drain 20 feet away from where I'd like to plant these hybrid willows. Do you think the roots would travel that far? I know I wouldn't want to plant a willow tree that close to the French drain, but I don't know about the roots of these hybrid willows.

It’s a willow, so if you are questioning the location, then I wouldn’t.

Beautiful. It's a shame mangaves are monocarpic. I have had to say goodbye to so many since they die after they bloom. Our neighbor had a bloom 20 feet high
Is a willow tree different from a willow whip? I know the whips are just cuttings but is the actual tree just a plain willow tree?
@TheLawrenceGardenFarm

Whips are just baby trees, and willows are the easiest to root🌿🌿
Hi Casey and Jason. Where do I go to purchase your eucalyptus plants? Thanks

Hi there, We have been selling them locally, I could check and see if we have some that would still be able to be shipped, how many would you want? Can you email me jason@josephscotthomes.com
Tell me more about which other trees are fastest growing.
Are these just plain old fashioned willow trees? The kind you see by ponds that have down facing branches?
@TheLawrenceGardenFarm
Жыл бұрын
They are called hybrid willows, the willow you are referring to is called a weeping willow, the hybrid willows look more like a normal deciduous tree, the branches do not weep down

Aren’t those planted too close together?🌸💚🙃

It’s OK we want them to form almost like a solid while we did that with the other ones that we planted. They can easily be pruned and if need be I could take one down here and there once they get bigger
Only downside. As a screening plant. They lose leaves in winter
💧💦get that pool🌴🌴🌞
Does anyone know if deer enjoy willows as a food source? ☹️
@TheLawrenceGardenFarm
2 ай бұрын
yes they do, when the trees are small, we wrap them before winter, that’s when they enjoy them most, after that there aren’t many problems. 👍
Update.
Kansas?????
I’ll take 20.
How are they doing now?
