Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Densely-planted greens beds are a significant food source for any homestead, backyard garden or market garden. These beds will produce a harvest in just a few weeks and will continue to produce throughout the winter months for 4-6 cuttings.

    You have a beautiful clean planting field. I could only be so fortunate. I planted my Brussels in my strawberry field which is under my hoops that I don't cover. I have also been dumping leaves, rabbit manure, and coffee grounds in this field. Up north we have a lot of time (winter) to fortify our fields:-) "It's always good to be back":-)

    What an excellent video, Travis! I just might get some of those All Top Turnip greens and put some in where I'm pulling things out. 'Might even get enough to can. I just pulled the green beans and "aggravating" the soil one last time today. 'Should be ready to plant my Fall/Winter crops this week and next!

    That's how I do it as well, been doing it that way for years... but after I go up and visit Richard after January, and I enlarge my garden a bit... I'm gonna be doing the other way... at least that's the plan. When you get old like me, that sweat equity isn't what it used to be. :)

    Glad to see you using the seeder. Think you need to add the off set handle brackets, won't have to walk down the row like a duck. Jealous about your year round gardening. Thank for all the good information you provide.

    If we were planting a larger area, probably would want to add those offset brackets. But for this small area, wasn't worth the time to change it out.

    If you were to have planted purple top turnips now, would they produce like the all tops? BTW, Tiger is looking real healthy now and just as cute as a button - almost acts like a dog?!?!? the way he watches every move you make. Love you guys and have learned soooo much.

  • @gardeningwithhoss

    He does follow me around like a dog. Purple tops probably wouldn't do as well planted this thick, especially if you were wanting roots.

    Travis yall have so many plots why dont you and Greg get yall a small tractor and a 5ft. tiller?

  • @gardeningwithhoss

    @gardeningwithhoss

    4 жыл бұрын

    We used to have one. But then we decided to go with smaller plots that didn't require the tractor. If we used a tractor in these plots, it would make more of a mess than it would help.

  • @gardeningwithhoss

    @gardeningwithhoss

    No it wouldn't cut through ground cover. Would likely just roll over it. Not enough weight -- even though it weighs 35 lbs.

    How do you deal with weeds in your beds?

  • @gardeningwithhoss

    @gardeningwithhoss

    Жыл бұрын

    We use drip irrigation which put the water directly on the plant and not in the middles. The decreases weed pressure. We also are diligent about running the wheel hoe through the middles, 1-2 times a week.
