Planting "Cut and Come Again" Greens on Elevated Beds | HOSS GARDEN SEEDER
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Densely-planted greens beds are a significant food source for any homestead, backyard garden or market garden. These beds will produce a harvest in just a few weeks and will continue to produce throughout the winter months for 4-6 cuttings.

Tiger is trying to steal the show! So cute!

Can't wait for them to come up. Once these beds get filled, it will be a beautiful site.
You have a beautiful clean planting field. I could only be so fortunate. I planted my Brussels in my strawberry field which is under my hoops that I don't cover. I have also been dumping leaves, rabbit manure, and coffee grounds in this field. Up north we have a lot of time (winter) to fortify our fields:-) "It's always good to be back":-)

Hoss Tools you’re welcome Travis 😊
I am gonna have to get Tiger to have a talk with Peaches about pulling your own weight around the farm.
@gardeningwithhoss

Haha. Odds say Peaches is set in her ways and will not likely be receptive to any life coaching that young Tiger might offer.
How about a row by row showing the seed room and warehouse love to see how your operation works.

Not a bad idea at all!
Fussing at my Tiger lol He or she was learning all about how to use that seeder, annoying for u but cute for us. I've never tried turnip tops, may have to give it a go. Happy Gardening!

Hi Travis a couple rows of sandbags should divert some of that run off

That's just real nice! I'll be doing some of that soon! Good job!

It's nice when a plan comes together.
What an excellent video, Travis! I just might get some of those All Top Turnip greens and put some in where I'm pulling things out. 'Might even get enough to can. I just pulled the green beans and "aggravating" the soil one last time today. 'Should be ready to plant my Fall/Winter crops this week and next!

Would highly recommend the All Top Turnips!
That's how I do it as well, been doing it that way for years... but after I go up and visit Richard after January, and I enlarge my garden a bit... I'm gonna be doing the other way... at least that's the plan. When you get old like me, that sweat equity isn't what it used to be. :)

Haha. Those bed shapers do look quite nice!
Slow the work with the plow down!...it's why we watch the show!
Glad to see you using the seeder. Think you need to add the off set handle brackets, won't have to walk down the row like a duck. Jealous about your year round gardening. Thank for all the good information you provide.

If we were planting a larger area, probably would want to add those offset brackets. But for this small area, wasn't worth the time to change it out.
I want to plant greens to sell! But I would have to buy a greens harvested that cut the greens fast! They sell really good! Great job Travis! Been ordering seeds from Boss tools ! Love all the videos! Thanks ! Farmer from Fair Play SC! Marlene

Thanks Austin. Wishing you well
If you were to have planted purple top turnips now, would they produce like the all tops? BTW, Tiger is looking real healthy now and just as cute as a button - almost acts like a dog?!?!? the way he watches every move you make. Love you guys and have learned soooo much.
@gardeningwithhoss

He does follow me around like a dog. Purple tops probably wouldn't do as well planted this thick, especially if you were wanting roots.

Travis yall have so many plots why dont you and Greg get yall a small tractor and a 5ft. tiller?
@gardeningwithhoss
4 жыл бұрын
We used to have one. But then we decided to go with smaller plots that didn't require the tractor. If we used a tractor in these plots, it would make more of a mess than it would help.
Do you guys get frost? I'm just south of Dallas TX and we have had two frosts that killed everything.
@gardeningwithhoss
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, but not many. Haven't had one yet. Our average first frost date is the end of November, but sometimes we don't get a frost until mid-January.
Hello ! Great tool ! Can you seeder work through a ground cover ? Will the disk cut it ?
@gardeningwithhoss
4 жыл бұрын
No it wouldn't cut through ground cover. Would likely just roll over it. Not enough weight -- even though it weighs 35 lbs.

Great. Already harvested twice. Third harvest will be next week.
that's pelleted seed, correct?
I have two hoss seeders on a toolbar and pull behind our BCS two wheel tractor. We bought this seeder setup this way, I can't find on ur website this setup. Do you know anything about this
@gardeningwithhoss

We don't sell that setup and never have. That was a custom setup made by the guys at BCS and Earth Tools.

How do you deal with weeds in your beds?
@gardeningwithhoss
Жыл бұрын
We use drip irrigation which put the water directly on the plant and not in the middles. The decreases weed pressure. We also are diligent about running the wheel hoe through the middles, 1-2 times a week.
Hi is all your seeds pellets? From UK subscriber
@gardeningwithhoss

We have raw seeds and pelleted seed for some crops including carrots, lettuce, beets, leeks and onions.
