That variegated ginger with the New Guineas 16:32 is such an advanced level of creative elements working together in so many ways it's sublime. Shape, size, color, weight, height, contrast, white space...it's a meditative moment of flora. This channel is so refreshing and educational for people who want much more than a brand name pushed on us or someone else's agenda. Thank you tremendously for your dedication and effort and kudos to the backend editing. We're not drowning in music, excess fast-forwards and dizzying flashes here and there. The mind rests when the eyes rest. 🙏 Gorgeous Gardens-Meditative Moments of Flora Maybe that can be useful someday for you as a title of a video 😉
These gardens that are open to the public like the Raulston Arboretum, Bellingrath Gardens and others are so wonderful to see. I could watch much longer videos to see more of the gardens. They are fabulous and most of them are long established gardens. Gardening is a series of long term projects. Most beautiful gardens are built in layers over time. Thanks for sharing these wonderful people and places with us.
Thank you Jim! This series make me want to visit all the beautiful gardens this vast country has to offer.
Loving the virtual plant/garden tours. Thanks for sharing.
This is by far the prettiest destination that you visited in this series! 😍 Makes me want to go see it. So many gardens within a garden..... gorgeous!
How wonderful that your bridge was rebuilt by students. I am sure in years to come many will bring their children & grandchildren to see what they built.
Beautiful thank you for this tour!
Absolutely beautiful gardens!!
Beautiful peaceful place and so many stunning trees & plants 💕
Thanks for taking us on this journey with you to this stunning garden. Now it's on my list of gardens to see.
Thanks so much for sharing such fabulous gardens with your viewers. I also really enjoy the gardeners and their histories and knowledge. For me, in suburban Philadelphia, great locations to add to my garden travel “bucket list”.
"Fabulous Plants Across America"
love these. I especially liked the red bridge and the way its refection in the water completed the circle.
Loved the tour ! Please return for more.
I’ve never been to Bellingrath Gardens, but always heard about it. Thank you! It is on my to-visit list. Love these visits with experts and favorite plants!!
Thank you for this lovely video...I just wish it was a full hour long. I visited Bellingrath Gardens many years ago, waddling 9 months pregnant. This show reminded me how much I miss the great garden shows with Kathy Renwald, Erica Glasner, Peter Seabrook, etc. Bravo!
Wow! I definitely need to add this to my list of places to visit.
❤❤❤ great video. Your channel is something you should be extremely proud of. I am thoroughly enjoying your content.
Hi Jim! So glad you gave a quick peek at Bellingrath! I am taking my 78 year old parents there this spring for all of our first time! Now I REALLY can’t wait to go! :)
Yes, PLEASE go back. I enjoy leaning about gardens and specific plants but I'd also ❤️ a full tour to appreciate the design and flow of the garden space. Beautiful!

I agree! It could also be a neat "teaching" style video, as in "this works here because....."
Great video. Love to see gardens from all over.
Beautiful Gardens would be a nice name for your playlist 🥰
Live 30-40 min away from bellinggrath and need to go back for tour!! Thanks Jim inspiring to see more plants I can grow here in pensacola fl.. Yes Hurricane Sally did a number on us here last September.. but with all our rain we have so so recovered!!! Judy
What a beautiful place! Adding it to my list of must see gardens.
Great Gardens you need to visit!
My wife and I visited Bellingrath in the early '80's and I don't remember a lot. It was summertime and hot, but we enjoyed it. I was not the gardener I am now and wouldn't have been able to recognize the plants and appreciate them near like I could today. Today, I live in Lake Charles, LA, so still on the Gulf Coast and our outdoor foliage it similar to yours in Mobile. Like you, we can get by with a lot of tropicals that can withstand light freezes and such. The only thing we can't grow outside are tender tropicals and succulents. We grow them in pots for 95% of the year and just scoot them inside until it warms up, and back outside on the patio they go. I have a potted Traveler's Palm (Ravanala Madagascariensis) that is my pride and joy. I got it from Amazon last month and it's around 5-6' tall. WIth it's large banana-like foliage, it certainly generates controversy. I enjoyed the video and have subscribed to your channel. Keep the great videos coming! 🌱🪴🌴
Gorgeous garden. Adding to my retirement garden tour trip for 2022!
Thank you, Jim for having these plant tours with the experts in the field. I always learn something new. For the title, my suggestion is “Plant Chat with the Experts.”
I was visiting my sister this weekend in Diamondhead from Ohio and happened to stop at this garden on a road trip. What a neat place and so interesting to see things we don't have in zone 6. Thanks for the video.
When I was married back in the early '80's, my wife and I visited this beautiful place and were just stunned. What I like is that the gardeners and landscapers can take advantage of the subtropical climate. Almost anything but the most tender plants can and do survive there on the Gulf coast. All sorts of tropicals like ginger and Hibiscus planted in the ground give it a lush, tropical vibe. Keep up the good work, guys. I'm in Lake Charles, LA, about a 5 or 6 hour drive away, so it's within reach. Happy gardening! 🪴🌴

I'm from Mobile, living in Virginia. Thank you soooo much for this piece of home today! Mobile is so special and Bellingrath is beautiful!
Love, love, love this episode! Such gorgeous gardens and paths. Really loved seeing the planting design in connection with that beautiful home. More please!
Yes! Wonderful. Make these longer with more detail.
Call it 'The Experts Favorite Plants!' 😊❤
Ahh!! My home town!! So glad you covered This garden! It’s truly a beautiful garden. A special place in the hearts people from Baldwin county and Mobile county 💕 yessssss
How cool to see this video, bc My husband is a distant relative of the founder!
This has been my favorite of the series. Absolutely beautiful
I so love these videos. As a resent retiree, I see so many wonderful trip opportunities. ‘Southern Traveling Plant Man’ is my vote!
I'm in zone 9, south Louisiana and got lots of inspiration from this. Can't wait to visit Bellingrath & see Part 2.
I’ll add this to my “Must visit someday” list
Perfect Friday video. The mass planting of variegated new guinea inpatients is an impressive sight and those large oaks with Spanish moss screams "the south" to me, me living in NJ! Awesome!
This is a true paradise. I have thought other gardens you have visited were my favorites but this is my new favorite. Please do visit it again and do more videos. 79 inches of rain-I am so jealous.
Another amazing place to visit!
We live in milton Florida and visit this place every Christmas for the light show!
Beautiful 🌸☀️🐝
I am loving these experienced gardeners ~ as well as their gardens! The Bellingrath Gardens are a Southern gardener’s dream ~ this one, anyway:)
Loved this tour. More like our temperatures in Sydney Australia. 🇦🇺
A beautiful garden for sure !!! Mobile is on my bucket list of places to visit on my Garden Tour of America !!! So many great plants & plantsmen from the area - plus a couple of days at the beach wouldn't be too bad either - haha !!! Thanks again for taking us around the South with ya to introduce us to these fabulous gardens and gardeners ...

Oh , I forgot another question . When I saw their water feature and how good it looked. I wondered what do they use to clean fountain, etc . We have s water feature with a spilling vase to an upright vase in a small area of rocks for the recirculating pump and it gets gross if I don’t treat it every few weeks. We have used every product out there. Any one best in his opinion? Thank you🌿

@@stephaniesharkey3538 I have a similar fountain and I’m in GA too. It’s hard to keep on top of the algae for sure. I get worms in mine as well.
Beautiful place
Haven’t been there in over a decade. Some of it looked familiar. Will have to go back again sometime. Thanks for the visit!
Grew up going to Bellingrath! Loved it.
Seems like Alabama is a great place for gardens. Love the rockery
You must see the Christmas lights at Bellingrath at least once! They're absolutely magical!
Amazing gardens and it's very interesting to see tropicals mixed in to the other plants. Nice.
Love Jim!
Great video! I live in Florida zone 8b so it's nice to look at a garden in zone 9 for inspiration.
Loved so much about their gardens, but the Rockery spoke to my soul😍

It is definitely worth a stop!! Thanks for watching!
That was a great one! The gardens are incredible, diverse spaces and seemingly effortless blending of species and styles. Just got back from Myrtle Beach and noticed the shell ginger for the first time - I've got to try it, if only as a houseplant.
Love the selagina wow very pretty
Thank you for all your wonderful videos. They are truly inspiring and wonderful to view. How about "Gardens Across America" as a title.
Thanks for showing these spectacular gardens. Always wanted to visit them but travel right now is hard for many of us. Have you done any filming at Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina?
Thank you very much Jim for sharing this beautiful garden the plants with white flowers in your intro, what’s the name please. ❤️❤️❤️
How about “Exploring American Horticulture” as a playlist title? Great videos; thank you for sharing!
I really enjoy these garden tours, please do more!

Does anyone know what is that purple plant on the left of the fountain at the start of the video?

I'm pretty sure it is Strobilanthes dyeriana (common name is Purple Shield plant). Has beautiful iridescent leaves and is grown as an annual in most climates but can also be grown as a house plant.
