I shot this in late September. There are two other videos from that visit. Thanks for watching.

Next time you come down to Georgia you need to visit Gibbs gardens. Preferably during fall, they have over 1200 japanese maples.

Jim, your videos with Dr. Armitage are always something to look forward to. The passion you both have for growing and propagating plants is fantastic! Please thank Dr. A for sharing his time and talents with all of us! I hope you're having a wonderful week! ~Margie
I am officially green with envy over the time you get to spend with Dr. Armitage, but thank you for sharing it with us too! He is fascinating! Please take us along next chance you get to visit him!
Two of my favorite guys. Thanks.
Just a joy to watch you both sharing your favourite plants. Got me so excited for next spring to try some of the suggested plants.
Another winner with you and Dr. Armitage. I love to hear that man speak on plants. And so many of the plants you highlighted I grew this spring and summer. Sunpatiens, plectranthus, lantana, and the coleus that grew like trees! Can't wait to hear more from you and Dr. Armitage!
Love it when you get together with Dr. A!
Dr. A has got to be one of my favorite people. He has a passion for plants, and certainly isn't afraid to show it.
I teach at UGA and have been following you for 18 months. Never knew this existed!! 🤔 I will have to check it out! Thanks for highlighting Athens!
Great to get a sneak peek of potential new plants and always a treat to see Dr. A. 👍
Where has Dr Armitage been all my life? This video was such a joy to watch, loved how you two tried to outdo each other 😆. Deuce!
It's exciting to see such knowledgeable plant enthusiasts. Developing and trialing new plant varieties provides gardeners everywhere new opportunities to create beautiful landscapes, whether the garden grows on a great estate or on an apartment balcony. Even Chelsea had balcony gardens this year.
Love this video!! The excitement is palpable! Glad to know I’m not alone in geeking out on flowers. Such a fun video, thanks!!
Enjoyed this and your other videos with him in his garden seems like a lovely man🌸
Dr. A is certainly a character 🐱
Fantastic tour! Absolutely beautiful choice of plants. Thank you Jim & Dr. A!
I love this format and all the info for next year's summer! I’m lucky to live in Atlanta. These beauties will work for me! Thanks, Jim!
Dr A is the best!
The Tilley twins! You two make a great team. 😎
LOVE these videos! Dr. A is phenomenal and a bit of a horticultural idol of mine. I love seeing these and learned so so much! As always top tier content!
He's such a hoot.
Wow! Absolutely stunning. Thank you for this video
Very enjoyable video. Also love to see dr A. Yes more please.
Another great tour. I really do enjoy these.
Only 12 minutes with Dr. A?? I am so glad there are two more videos, but next time how about 12 videos? Both your enthusiasm for plants is infectious. Thank you for this wonderful video Jim!!!

Thank you. I'm heading back down there soon!
I love Dr. A and his books!! He’s so relatable.
Immediately drools over concrete containers… 😂💖
what a fun video and seeing some plants that were new to me.
I really enjoy your videos and have been introduced to new plants not commonly found in Utah where I live! I like your focus on the plants themselves!
Great video! I wish that it was longer!
Oh how exciting! I work in the white building next to the Trial Gardens…such a treat being next to this gorgeous garden year round! Ive learned a lot about how to garden in clay in the southeast from watching your videos Jim, thank you!
Oh that alternanthera!! Swoon!
Beautiful purple flowers :)
Love the coleus!
I really like your interviews and garden tours, both for education and the pleasure of seeing new gardens.
This was so much fun 🤩 Thanks!

Thank for watching!
Amazing plants and Thank You Jim for sharing this with us 💕
It always strikes me how easygoing and ur fussy Dr. A is (on these videos lol) I bet his students loved him. Great videos Jim.
How amazing! It's such a joy to watch. Beautiful plants.
Oh, that burgundy coleus is gorgeous ❣️
So so love you guys you both are such fun! Wish I was there ! One plant for me on gulf coast now that’s so striking in my beds is BRAZILIAN RED HOT ALTERNANTHERA... hope it will survive winter!!😄🌺👍
I was pretty disappointed when I accompanied my grandson to Midfest 2 years ago, the weather didn't cooperate enough for me to tour the trial garden. It takes a frigid downpour to keep me out of gardens 😂 The landscaping between buildings was still a joy to see. Thank you for making UGA campus so nice! Thanks Jim & Dr. A for all you do!
OH WOW I love all the plants! Amazing place
Thanks for the tour with some great suggestions. What about the columnar butterfly bush? Will we see it this coming spring?
one of these days - yes - one of these days I'm gonna take the trip down the road to Athens (from N. Atlanta) to visit not only the trial gardens, but the State Botanical Garden as well. Thanks to both of you for this fabulous tour and the great suggestions for my garden ... even though its November and the temps are a wee bit cooler I'm already looking forward to next Spring - yee haw !!!!
This was great fun Jim! Thanks.

Thanks for watching!!
Dr. A is the best. I would love spending a semester in one of his classes. Jim do you do milk jug winter sewing? I had reasonable success with it last year. I am looking for a good list of what annuals to choose.
Man it’s freezing in NY. I really wish I could have shorts weather right now!!!
Watching the pollinators fly past the camera.... 🐝
Can plants be overwintered in egress window wells to protect them from wind? My basement bedroom well would be convenient for winter monitoring. If I kept a plant there all year, would a grow light attached to the blinds transfer enough light to the outside of the window to help the plant grow? There is no direct sunlight during the day. I live along the front range zone 5b. Thank you. I appreciate your channel.
What's the yellow flower in the hanging basket right when you sign off?
Is it hard to grow Sunpatiens from seed for the average gardener?
👋😃
I worry that when they “breed” plants for show that we aren’t doing this at the expense of our essential pollinators or organisms we can’t see. It’s good to see this as a priority. We don’t really know what the long term consequences are.
First!
