Love the plant chore videos. Enjoy seeing the real life. I was cracking up when the cats kept turning on the faucet. So funny. Just loving the marble queen on the poles. Just gorgeous.

haha Luna is the culprit! She does it at nighttime too she jumps up and turns it on. The marble queen is doing so well! The new leaf keeps growing too. Thank you! :)
I put a dusting of diatomaceous earth in the bottom of my cash pots, to get any bugs that may fall or crawl down there. Its actually worked as a warning sign on Calathea that was beginning to get infested. Thank you for the video!

For the philodendron Sodiroi I filmed the unboxing on my channel but if I shop again I’ll probably film it! I really like doing these!
When I have a Mealy bug problem, I pour rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle and spray my plant. it seems to get most of the cracks and crevices on the plant. And since alcohol kills the mealies right away, I will sometimes rinse the more tender plants with water after about 15 minutes. Then repeat in about a week. Sure is less time consuming!
Oh the purrs!! I’m doing plant chores while watching needed the motivation. 😂

Hi Melissa :)...I have been treating a couple hoya hanging baskets recently as well! My hoya compacta has mealy and it is a pain with all the curled leaves...I put it outside in the summer so the bugs can eat them or whatever they do and thought they were gone but nope they are back! I have leaves turn completely yellow too...all your plants look so so pretty! Love your frydeck! Mine has one leaf :(...I saved it in time though!....everything looks so happy and healthy and in place! Kitties too :) you are a wonderful plant mom! See you soon! Blizzard here in MN!

Hey! Next time you do a newly treatment do the bath method (warm water with Castile soap and dead bug - and put the whole entire plant in the water for about 30minutes , let sit for an hour or so then give it a rinse …) then of course follow up with systemic - it’s been a game changer
My Hoya Sunrise bloomed for me during the summer and I had the exact same reaction 😂

Thank you! I have some videos in my maranta playlist. I did one of my care but it was around 5-6 months ago. I honestly feel they like my environment here more than anything. I feel like I don't do anything special really besides watering and propagating them to fill them out. They love the humidity and they probably dry halfway or so :)
💚💚💚

mealy bugs suck but defintely take em over thrips! worst choice ever though lol 😘
Your plants and cats are so beautiful! I'm curious how you have so many plants and your cats don't seem to be bothering them. What is your secret? I'm just getting into plants again after so many years without any... I've been keeping them in rooms my cats aren't allowed in for fear they would bite into them and get sick. I've heard so much about plants being toxic to pets. Do you have any comments about this? Thanks for such a great video! Beautiful!

Thank you! I get asked this often because they’re always around my plants lol but I’m just lucky! They don’t seem to care too much. The boy is nosy and he did eat one of mine recently but for the most part they don’t bother them. I do try to keep them off the floor ☺️

I've been melting snow for my plants. But this spring, I'd like to start collecting rain water. Any suggestions on the best way? We do have gutters & downspouts.
Love your videos!- I have a question about the moss poles. I know you are getting rid of the green plastic ones and replacing with metal hardware cloth ones. So now I see these clear ones. Which is best?
@plantsbymelissa
Жыл бұрын
I've been using the Thiccly poles for a few months now the clear ones. I haven't used them long term yet so it's hard to say how the stability will be over time. I love the ease of watering them and they stay moist a couple days longer in my space than the wire ones which I love. The wire poles are definitely sturdy so I love them! I wanted to try the clear ones out and so far I like them but I guess time will tell :) The plastic mesh though wasn't sturdy after about 4-5 feet tall.

Hey Melissa , treating your hoya was really hard to watch . It is like with my Tradescantias and Thrips . There are just so many leaves , hideouts for These animals that it is nigh impossible to be ever free from them . So it is better to chill out and make your peace with it . Treat it but just always be ok and aware that with plants there come animals . Helpful and not so helpful ones . Have a relaxed pre Christmas time .

Hi, you must be new here just know it’s not okay to tell someone to chill out. To be blunt I know with plants there comes pests and I’ve been treating pests for a long time including mealies and thrips. I have successfully gotten rid of many pests and it’s not my first rodeo and I know what I’m doing :)

@@plantsbymelissa sorry if that came off wrong . English is not my native language. I am from Germany and maybe i got it wrong maybe with my words . Here in Germany chillout is sth very positive and when you chillout it practically means to have inner Balance. I just was a bit stressed to see you in this state . But you reacted as if i Was lecturing you and this is def not the case . From now on i will not comment anymore because Our ways of communicating seem to differ too much .
