I think one of the smaller islands would look cool with some props, maybe a castle or a small park. Maybe even luxurious housing (low density).

I was thinking it might make more sense to relocate the campus to the series of smaller islands. It would look cool, be easier to access from the big train station, and have lower traffic compared to residences or offices

A time lapse for the buildings is probably best, I’d like to see you build more small towns on different parts of the map x

In Helsinki downtown archipelago, small islands are very high end rich mansions. Great to get a new episode. Had to wait too long for it.

I think the issue is that you have imported the lv 1 buildings into RICO therefore they aren't available as a growable

Check out Geze on the workshop. He makes the most gorgeous european high density buildings and other Paris inspired buildings

If you look on the workshop for UK rural roads, they have an old brick bridge for the elevated version

You should look up Toronto’s city plan when it comes to planning out some of these islands. Although it’s not Europe, the city has a massive island in front of it’s downtown seafront which they turned into a giant public park which has scenic views of the entire skyline and allows residents of the crowded downtown to have a little place to escape the noise. I think it would be interesting if each island offered a different recreational activity.

Bro, you need to do some small houses on islands around, check out the Gothenburg skärgård (for eg Marstand) for some amazing inspiration, connect the island with the ferry and make the houses center the marina.. you wouldn’t have a Swedish coastal city without this :)

The Buildings doesn't work because you have set them all to be RICO Buildings. By doing that, you make them available in the RICO mod, but not as growables

the left lane on the small road that everyone is going on can only turn left, and after that intersection the can't change lanes so the small road is the only possible way.

You should absolutely turn that little road next to the highway into a bike road 👌

Use some cool custom historic bridges- if you look at London or Amsterdam most of the bridges date prior to 1900

Don't forget the railway lines, you gotta plan them too. You could connect the university with another rail line that comes around near-ish the new road you laid out and crosses under the existing one.

You should make an airport in the sea, it would look really cool.

you're going to have to build the stupid disaster response system. I noticed last month that the game was updated so buildings placed on paths but not on roads, like parklife and campus buildings, will now catch fire and the only way to respond to them is with fire helicopters.

These lvl 1 buildings aren't a problem. This kind of buildings exist in European cities, they are post WWII, 50's building for the expansion if cities. In France they are known as HLM. Also, for your old town part, you need way more cobblestone roads. In Medieval towns roads are very often in cobblestone.

Get some actually old/historical buildings (plop the growables) by Titan Download some Renaissance and Baroque buildings(also get some Churches by him) and look at google earth how the road layouts in European old towns actually look like

@@juliuserikbunda3946 He did say he was taking inspiration from Cologne though which has a central railway station right in the middle of the old town. I agree with the ringroad, but he would basically need to rebuild that entire section, so I don't think it'll happen

Do some public transportation in your new area

You should continue the tram road to the island and the old part of the town and even following/under the highway. A quick line to conect those places could help a lot Also the miami island could be a good place to entretainment

Would love to see the old bridge road swapped into a pedestrian and cycle path. We already have seen how much Cims love walking and cycling; and that'll help keep the traffic on the highway. Definitely looking forward to what you fill out the old factory district; could be an interesting farmer's market area, office buildings, or even an amusement zone?

I actually really enjoy the manual placing of buildings. Not all the time but I think you’re in there it’s good.

I like the idea of the old road turned into a bike path! I think placing buildings should be done in time lapses. At the end I think the problem with the lanes is only the right lane can continue straight through the roundabout, and there is no chance for traffic in the left lane to switch to the right lane before the roundabout, so the left lane traffic has to go around the block.

Use the old town road for a bus line and connect the school district and the central station in a loop with the small district on the other side

About turning those factories into an industrial area: at Birmingham, UK there’s an area called the Custard Factory, which (as the name suggests) is a repurposed factory, subdivided up into bars, cafés, clubs, a cinema, as well as some shops and offices, so maybe instead of industrial you could RICO/No Collision in some commercial buildings into those factories and have it as a Leisure area!

I'd really love to see some modern downtown area, maybe with some custom, smaller skyscrapers. Maybe you should download the Turning Torso from Malmö. It's very Swedish, and I think it would fit the modern part of the city.

I love the exclamation marks at the end of each video title. "Placing 500 roads in 3 minutes!" All seriousness, I've been watching regularly since IC. I love watching the places evolve and grow.

Make this roundabout in the city a 4 lane roundabout for good messure and put something like a fountain and some green stuff in the middle. Put also a big square on the corner,and make it a little touristic! 😀

I actually kind of like the look of the lvl 1 buildings being in the International style, looks kind of realistic as in most old european cities there's random areas and spots throughout with small modern buildings in between the old ones, usually on spots where old ones have been demolished or burned down

28:50 you need to enable lane switching on the junctions in the roundabout with TM:PE , that will fix it

i really love seeing you make the road network but i'm not that big of a fan of the individual building placement

For the high density residential theming, check what the European theme that comes standard includes for level 1

You should do a large rural area where houses are on like acres of land and there’s a school nearby but essentially in the middle of nowhere, with farmland and stuff

There is a highway on top of concrete on workshop in multiple different lane configurations not sure on brick though.

Maybe have one of the islands as a "Financial Island" with modern offices etc

At least the gazebos fit in with the ruins now 😂

I think maybe the highway need to be extend over to the port soon, or there might be too much traffic going right through the heart of the city. The best way would probably be to have the highway bypass the central/station area to not disturb the existing development Also, literally name a street Old Town Road for the memes

As someone who's elementary school was next to the high school i can tell you that that placement is a baaaaaad idea.

The reason they are going around the laneeay at the end is that they cant change lanes because you have so many intersections! You should use traffic manager and enable switching lanes in intersections

Personally think it might be cool to use the cable cars to connect the city Center to the older part of the city.

Your highway looks great at all, but we here in Europe almost never bring highways or highway looking roads inside our most populous areas. If they do come up, they're only a bypass around the whole city or just a city center (old town, mostly in the place of old city walls, or next to them, if they still exist). Sometimes you can see on the map that the marked highway cuts through the city, but mostly it's a normal avenue road marked as a highway. Highways just take to much space, which is too valuable. as the European cities are very densely packed

The problem you're having with the roundabout at the end might be because the cars have no way of changing lanes and are stuck if they want to continue forward. You might have to allow them to change lanes in the intersections with Traffic Manager.

You should do your plan for the rail link to the university and industrial area. Then use traffic manager and ban cargo trains from using it.

I like this type of building but for the building plopping a timelapse would be nice as it's not as interesting to watch as roads, transport, balancing, services, planning, etc

Sometimes the AI is confused by the speed limits. It believes that a road with a higher speed limit is the main road and tries to make the cars go on that road. Check if the long way has higher speed and if it does lower it to the same or lower than the roundabout. Also, use the give way signs and see if that makes a difference, perhaps the AI is smart enough to realize that roads that have priority are the main roads...

Once I made all my roads toll roads, there even wasn't a reason for it because I played with unlimited money

I would suggest to take a closer look to some european urban plans of cities. Because although you do want to use European buildings and stuff..the urban planning does not say European to me... (Take Paris which is really a great example...or Amsterdam or...etc) Also just because you put different European buildings next to each other does not mean that all of these buildings normally stand next to each other... You just use to much different styles out of different countries next to each other.. So it would be great if you would give a bit more attention to this. But okay.. It does not have to be perfect or anything..but now it does not really make sense. I do like the game though and you are doing a nice job/try ;-)

Please double the amount of train lines on the main line toward and out of the city and main station before it gets too busy and causes a back log of trains. Make use of having a local and express line. Using the local line for trains that stop everywhere and the express for trains travelling further away making it so not all passages and trains have to stop at every station and can get where they are going quicker and as they are not stuck behind stoping trains. The bypass you have on the stations is good for now but a complete separate system would be so much better as at the moment 16 tracks go into two but with two more tracks they can be more spaced out and merge into four and I know trains don't break down in city skylines but in real life if one were to breakdown on the two tracks you have it would hold up all traffic going into and out of the main station. More tracks would ideally be better (two (one in each direction)for each branch heading out the city))but you have built too much already meaning to much would have to be destroyed to make that happen.
