Love a good planning video! It wasn’t until I started watching you (several years ago) that I ever considered planning my projects. I was getting overwhelmed with too many unconsidered projects on the go! I know consider each purchase and project and give myself time! It works for me and it’s down to your inspiration, so thank you Natalie x

I’m spitballing here, but if the snaps idea for your bra cups doesn’t work, maybe you could knit a rectangle to go inside the tank and hold the cups? Something like how swimsuit tops are made? You could leave the sides open for easy cup removal

I always enjoy your planning videos! I never plan using a timeline, but so far always by what I need in my wardrobe. I'm now knitting my Sophisticate cardigan by Linden Down. We haven't been having much of a summer here in The Netherlands, so it looks like it's going to be useful right away!🌧🥶 I usually only wash my knits to store them for the season I'm not wearing them, unless I drop something on them. In between, I hang them out to air.

I know this may seem really random, but I have found that with summer tops that I struggle to find the right bra for, my Cakes (that's the brand) are the best option. You can even wear them in your bathing suit!! Once you warm up, they stick really well and they feel like you're not even wearing them. They're not sticky like other similar items (which irritate my skin after a little while) so they're the perfect option for me. Obviously they're not going to give you any support, but even as large as my, um, girls are, these do fine for me in summer dresses and such. Perhaps it would be a good item for you to have?

I really love your planning videos. I plan in my head but I realise I would be better getting it down on paper. I’m currently finishing up charity and gift knitting. While I’ve a lot of babies I would like to knit gifts for I’m ready to knit something for me. So I sat and planned out my makes starting next Sunday 17th I started a Feldspar tee last year so I’m going to start with working on that. I’ve several blankets on the go so while it’s still cool I’m going to work on my temperature blanket. If we ever get something resembling a summer I can switch to crochet granny squares. I always have socks so I’ll wind up my next 2 yarns. For the summer that seems manageable for me as I knit a bit less and garden lots more.

Hi Natalie, I love these kind of video’s. Nice to see how this kind of planning works for you. I just started a summer sorrel. My third one, I love this pattern. And after that I want to knit the Umbria summer top from Cookie the knitter. I normally don’t plan to far ahead. I just try to always have a simple project on the needles and one more interesting and challenging. I don’t have too much knitting time and after two or three months I usually have seen something else I want to make. It is nice to see you make more garments. I personally find that more inspiring then making blankets, socks and hats. Thank you

I'm a pretty loose planner. I'm working on finishing up a Niki sweater. I've done the body, and I'm working on the hem. Then it just needs sleeves and the collar before it's ready to go. No pressure on finishing that at a particular time. I have a friend headed to Paris for the Olympics this summer, and I want to send him off with two pairs of socks. One will be vanilla and the other will probably include a pattern of some kind. That's probably my summer knitting, especially since the socks have a deadline.

I love your planning and have learned to keep a notebook handy while I watch. This summer I have 2 kids sweaters , monthly socks, monthly gift cowl and a surprising 3 shawls on the needles. I hope to finish one of the shawls. Plus I knit Christmas in July (my birthday month) so I hope to knit myself a Christmas sweater, the socks will be gingerbread and I’d like to make a Christmas quilt. If it’s really hot or there is wildfire smoke, I shelter in my basement sewing room.

it will be interesting to see how you attach the cups to the tank top. I like the snap idea but I immediately thought to sew the cups on a simple stretch tanktop and cut the section out and the sew snaps to that piece and the knit top. It would allow the piece to move with you instead of feeling the cups won't move or pull on the knit fabric. I see the design in my head so this may just be the most confusing comment you read. lol!! 😂

I enjoy your planning videos though I am not so organized. This summer I want to make socks - finishing up 1 DRK knee high sock before starting on ones from Summer Lee's Sock Project. Like another viewer, I am making a ranunculus with Berrocco Remix light - in swatching stage. Plan on making a baby sweater, hat and booties for my neighbor's granddaughter due in fall. And I want to make a Traveler hoodie too - stymied on the yarn decision. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Hi Natalie, My BIG ongoing project for this year is socks. 1. So that I can see how many pairs I can randomly do in a year, as I am a new sock knitter. So far I'm on pair #5 of short/ankle socks, using various patterns and worked to a woman's size 9. And, I am on pair #8, of 3-6 months sized socks, using the "Celer" Baby Socks pattern by Kristina Tyla. 2. I'm knitting shorter socks to use up those lone, 50g and now discontinued skeins of sock yarns from my stash that I originally purchased to knit fingerless mitts. I'm using #3, baby sport weight yarn remnants for the baby socks. Baby socks and other baby items are great to have on hand for donating, "surprise" baby showers or for selling at crafts fairs. They're fun to knit because they work up fast (for some instant gratification) and there's an amazing amount of baby patterns available. I've been eyeing a tank top pattern, recently posted by "So Wooly" here on KZread. It has a beautiful lace panel on the front, for which Carolina also posted a tutorial. Since I've never knit an adult garment (other than a vest that ended up being way too big for the recipient) I think I need the hands on instruction/guidance that she provides. Lol! I also have some UFO's hanging around that I would like to finish or frog. I've already repurposed cotton worsted weight yarn from a couple of shoppers that I crocheted a while ago and wasn't happy with the narrow opening the bag ended up having. Although I did love the stitch pattern, the practicality wasn't there. I had some circle bag handles in my craft supplies so, I frogged two shoppers, and was able to crochet two new project bags within a week. 😊 That's just some of what has been keeping me busy and what I'd like to cast in the future. I don't want to take up too much of your time. Lol! Here are the links to Carolina's tank and the lace panel tutorial so you can see it and/or make one for yourself if you're so inclined. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oGdqzbOTiprRpNo.htmlsi=XkkAd41hr_iwoShA kzread.info/dash/bejne/g2trqpmqdMioqdI.htmlsi=ucC1EO9S0z9a3k-v

I’m going on vacation in two weeks and wanted something new. Started in a tank but it quickly got technical so I put that on hold and went stash diving and started a ranunculus with berocco light remix. This is my third ranunculus and this yarn is made for this pattern! I also started a tolsta tee but I think I went wrong in the short rows somewhere and need to take it to my LYS for some troubleshooting. I also have at least 3 pairs of socks in mind this summer. And a couple hand towels I want to Tunisian crochet. If I have time I’m going to come back to the tank. I think I actually knit larger projects in the summer. I’ll make a couple tee shirts and not just socks or one sweater over the winter. And I think it might be because the sleeve situation is so much better and over all there’s less knitting and I can go up needle sizes for a more gauzy look with fingering or dk yarn so it’s def faster than say a sweater where you want a much tighter gauge. I didn’t realize until I typed this all out that I even had summer plans. This video def got me thinking and might need to go plan things out myself so I don’t find I’m just adding more WIPS to the parade. Great video as always! Can’t wait till the next one!

Love your videos. And I love love, love your idea of finding a way to incorporate bra cups into your sleeveless knits. There are so many cute non-bra friendly patterns that I would love to make, but I find strapless bras uncomfortable as well. If you figure out how to do this, it would be awesome if you could do a video about it, especially if it’s something that you don’t need to have sewing experience to pull it off :-).

I was feeling a little stressed this afternoon, so was super happy to sit down and knit along with your podcast for half an hour :) Regarding hand-washing my garments - all my sweaters are worn on top of a tee (so they are not next to skin) - and they each get washed once a year, in spring, then are packed away until autumn when the temperature drops and I want to wear them again.

As for the bra situation and needing coverage more than you need support, you might like silicone nipple covers! The ones from NIPPPY have lasted me a really long time. As a very big chested girlie, I prefer them to the cheaper ones I found at Target. Another brand I want to try is CAKES Body’s “grippy, not sticky” nipple covers, they’re a bit larger and non adhesive, and stick to your body thanks to body warmth, so when you pull it off it’s not like pulling off a band-aid. I like that I know the NIPPPY covers are adhesive and long lasting, but a fresh pair stick VERY WELL… sometimes a little too well and it can hurt a little bit to peel off. The adhesive is very long lasting though and I can just rinse them with soapy water if I need to wash them, and they go right back to being very sticky. Anyway, if those snap in foam pads bother you and you don’t like them, maybe try the CAKES ones if you aren’t sure about adhesive nipple covers. I can’t believe how much I love them. I wear them all the time now instead of bras because my bras dig into my back and cause me some back pain and even heartburn sometimes, and I’m not a fan of the tight feeling around my rib cage anymore

One thing to consider when knitting with the single-ply, non-superwash yarn is to ensure there is enough ease in the armpit. I've used a similar yarn and you can felt the armpit area very easily if there isn't enough ease. The arm can get a little tight if that area does felt since felting shrinks the fabric. I'm sure your project will be beautiful!
