Planes at Heraklion Airport, HER - Crete! 23/08/20

A new island and a new airport for filming. Before leaving Crete I decided to have a wonder around the airport at Heraklion for the off chance of finding a good spot to get some footage of the planes. I wasn't holding out much luck, but I did find a pretty good vantage point for the departures. Unfortunately the touch downs were hidden behind some buildings, but departures came out pretty well!

If you’re ever back in Crete, there’s a town called Karteros just down the road from the airport, there’s a public beach with amazing views of the aircraft landing, and you can enjoy the beach at the same time!

Excellent vid!! It's one of my main goals as a an avgeek to do WK A340s HER-ZRH ! HER and RHO get a lot of WBs in the summer! Neos uses its 789s from Milan and Verona to HER and RHO with fantastic prices..TUI also flies 788s,789s and 763s to HER,RHO,CFU,KGS ..And Condor uses their 753s with that fantastic RB-211 screaming engine! Not to mention that pre-pandemic Nordwind used to send tis 777 to HER and Rossiya its 747s!
