Nice video, John. It's a tough call which is better, but Japan certainly makes getting around easy for us! See you soon for another adventure 😁

I can't wait for another Dean and John adventure too!
I remember that book about the Peach boy. My American mother read that to me when I was little. I was adopted and still remember that book. I hope to go visit the City once I do come back to Japan John. Stay Safe over there in Japan
When my family flew back from Kurashiki we took the bus (IIRC it was 250 yen) to Okayama Airport, which then flew to Haneda, then to Osaka Kansai before finally to LAX. Okayama claims that Momotaro was born there that's why there's Momotaro everywhere. When we left Tokyo to Okayama we took the shinkansen because we were staying at the ANA hotel next to the hotel. Plus we had the rail pass so we used that.
Big fan of driving you just get to see so much more. thanks for the share! stay awesome !
Great video! Loved it♥💝
Hi John. This airport is cool! Love how small and quaint it is. And omg! Haven't heard the name Momotaro in decades. I read that story when I was in elementary school. Very nostalgic for me. Always love when you're visiting cool new places. Thank you for sharing this. Me personally, I'd still probably take the Shinkansen because I really enjoy riding on them. 😀

Me too! But there’s a point where it’s just too long to sit on a train going that fast. For me, it’s 2.5 hours. Okayama is over 3 hours. Flying is more fun for me now. I’m only on it for 55 min.

@@onlyinjapanGO I can see your point. Shorter traveling time is always a plus. What are the cost differences between flying and taking the train?

@@onlyinjapanGO I prefer the Skinkansen because when you arrive in Okayama on train you're already in the city, and the airport is quite far away, if you come by plane, you still have to take a bus to go Okayama... And I just love the Shinkansen!!!
Definitely looking forward to this one!
Cool! Thanks for sharing it ✌️
Interesting premiere , Toby won lol😎🤫Thank you John 🙂👍!!!
Thank you for doing these videos. I found your Narita Express video super helpful when we visited some years ago!
Have to miss this one. GAH! Can't wait to watch it later. ❤
Awesome John.
Fan of your work keep going
Thank you for sharing ❤
They allow water bottles through security? I can't tell you how many times I've had to chug a bottle of water before flying.

They have a machine that checks drinks. I think they don’t do it in the US because it would take too much time.

Here in Australia there’s no restrictions on liquids in your carryon, on domestic flights.
Hi John, the best way to make a comparison between airline and train travel to a destination is to calculate from your door to your destination. I doubt when you add all the time from your home to your destination wouldn't be much different in this case especially if you include traveling from the airport to downtown Okayama.
Hi John amazing mind blown 🤯
Thanks for your sharing👍👍
That's the airport I use when visiting my son and family in Kamogata. Not 24 hours which can be tricky if trying to get the link bus into Okayama. Miss it and you're on a taxi.
thank you John
Glad to hear that your favorite is 浅草. Just traveled to Tokyo and stayed two nights at APA 雷門. Good experience there especially during the nights. Went to 隅田川 park for a quiet walk with beautiful river views, and seeing nightly Sky Tree tower was just great. Morning time before leaving for Narita airport we visited 仲見世 and ate at 一蘭ラメン. So much fun. By the way 浅草 is very accessible not only to other main attractions in the city but to the airport. No need to rush to 上野駅 for trains. Anyway, multiple good reasons to stay hotel in 浅草!
Amazing 😻
Nice video sir. I have never flown domestically in Japan. I should look into it more.

@@onlyinjapanGO next time I get a chance to travel I will look at it. However I normally only travel with my family so with 5 people we tend to drive even if it takes longer
The observation deck floor looks like a hospital rather than an airport lol.
missed live got message it'd be live 10:00am est was over I'll watch replay love the trains my grandfather was one of the first workers on the Boston Subway system in 1898 was just 18 after returning home from Spanish American war. when he retired he was 72 over 50+ years on the job n now I'm retired from Boston transit system buses and train and I turn 72 on March 14th.
I always take the Shinkansen when traveling distance within JP. No better way to travel.
What is your camera setup? The picture in picture is cool!
we missed you
The courts of Japan involve Summary Courts for the merit of the court. Receipts and "money" are always a question of commercial laws and conduct with the customary civil code of contract construction. The United States involve the Uniform Commerical Code and in Japan the customary civil code. Airports, train stations, and seaports have precedence of commercial laws involved with cargo separate from passenger itinerary travel plans. The use of the contracts for the separation of cargo and passenger legal rights are important with the travel conditions. This news report of travel and tourism policy has a lot to involve the travel plan and passenger conditions expectations. Another great job by John Duab Only in Japan! Anywhere within the main island and have good Shinkansen connection, I prefer shinkansen. If anywhere that has no shinkansen like Sapporo, I prefer flight
that fact that you can get miles from purchases is convenient..:)
John, first time Japan traveler here. I will be in Tokyo in October. My idea is to travel by Shinkansen down to Nagasaki, then work my way back up by train stopping at Hiroshima and Kyoto. What are you thoughts on this plan? Thanks.....
Train is propably faster than plane. How many hours do you have to be in airport for the check in?

Convenience is important - I have to be honest, I rode so many long Shinkansen trips last year, I prefer flying. It’s nice to change, shuttle - and it is faster. And I get miles. But the train works out more for places 600km or less.

@@onlyinjapanGO Hey John, I see your point.. I do love travelling by Train It's exciting!!You travel by Train more than most..I can see your point.Too bad you don't miles on the Train!!
they say high speed railways like the Shinkansen are best suited for routes which are "too long to drive and too short to fly".....these routes are those which takes less than two hours by flying and at least five hours by driving....I think the Tokyo-Okayama route falls in this category.....so for me it's better to take the Shinkansen on this route.

My destination is closer to the airport which is 40 min away. The flight got was also cheaper. Okayama is on the fringe. Anything over 500km away, I think flying is better. Sitting in one spot for 4+ hours is more tiring than a 55min flight. And domestic check in is only 45 min before a flight 😉
And a pheasant. Don’t forget the pheasant.
Did they check your passport for domestic flight?

No, never. Not even my drivers license 🤷🏻♂️ it’s always been kind of weird like that. You can also bring in liquids, they have a machine to test it. Amazing!
Dude don't do this again. So anxious thinking you're about to miss that flight. Forget the curry man!

I like trains better. Becuase i get a lot of stres from airplanes. And every thing around it.
