Ойын-сауық
A plane is about to land on Hawai. However, The US government immediately denies their entry and sends them away. Left with no options, the flight returns back to Korea, but surprisingly, at the airport, thousands of people are protesting against their landing.

Commercial aircraft don't typically have full tanks either. They calculate the weight and distance plus average taxi time and put the necessary amount of fuel required to make it from Point A to Point B with maybe enough extra fuel to circle the Point B airport for a couple hours, which if the flight was 8 to 12 hours that's not enough to get you back from the starting point.

Yeah, that was pretty terrible. Kudos to your country, and it's understandable that you were afraid. Hopefully that changed your outlook. This however is a a lot different with a plane. They can't survive in the air that long (unlike ships that can be on the sea forever with re-supply), so in reality they would be allowed to land but quarantined on the tarmac. Now the sad and terrible would be is how long they would be quarantined there without much help (that I could believe). Then there stuck there essentially :(

The whole point of the movie that several countries deny the plane to land because of a desease that isn't even unknown is so stupid. They act like if they couldn't just tell the plane to land but order all the passangers to stay on baord & quarantine them there at the same time.
What year was this? After 9/11 if you walked into an airport in any country and asked which flight has the most passengers you would be detained
that last call scene from flight to everyone was amazing! such honour much wow!
I watched this movie initially thinking it would be nothing much. But it was extremely thrilling! I was on the edge the entire time in the cinema because the music and sound effects were so good!!! It was touching too towards the end. Most of the reactions in the movie felt really realistic like can you blame people when they became selfish and not want the plane to land? It depicted fear of unknown virus really well. I guess it felt even more relatable because of covid. Extremely long movie around 2hrs and i would say this video recap is good! But i highly recommend to watch the movie just to see how the scenes played out!!

Wow, that flight started with unlimited fuel
... wouldn't it be easier to let the plane land and isolate it somewhere on the runway? It'd be real easy to contain and monitor, the plane wouldn't need to crash when the worst case scenario happens, and it prevents the potential danger of the virus spreading in the air or water. I mean, it's sure it's a virus and not nuclear waste but you know, if something's deadly and contagious, you don't want the risk of having it spread via elements that are out of your control

If it was another plane, it's either all the passengers would die because no one would let them land, or they'd be able to land but there would be a possible virus outbreak since they still wouldn't know if the antivirus works.

Why is it that an international flight doesn't have a single foreigner on it. If I were the pilot, after the entire world denied us help, I would fly up to the North Korean border and radio "Hey, you guys want a super cool new bio-weapon?"

Wow.. so biggest gap in plot is that airplane had the fuel to return back to Korea and still remain airborn asking for help from other countries. In reality, planes only carry sufficient additional fuel to reach nearest alternate airports around the destination.
how much fuel did they have to not crash???
Mans eyeball bursts and he vomits blood then collapses: Physician: hmmm give me 20 minutes... he might still be alive...
in the real world, they crashed in the ocean when the pilot died, if you dive like that, there is no comming back from it, they would be directed to a very remote and isolated airport where a fully equiped team of biohazzard speciallists would meet them to handle the situation while surrounded by armed military, also in the real world, there is no way in hell he woudl be fired after landing a plane with a engine fire, you declare a emergency then you just focus on landing as soon as you can, after declaring a emergency essentially the entire airport is shut down, firetrucks will roll out and wait for you, and you can land where ever the hell you want on that airport in whichever way you want, if someones going to get fired over that incident, its the guy up in the tower, not him, the pilot.

I don't know why but you get a hint of current world politics. You see America refused landing of the plane but no criticism was there (since its a world power) but when Japan did it it got heavy criticism.

I like movies like that, also I would hope that Hawaii would have taken them in, somewhere away from other people. You dont send needy people away like that. Great movie, great ending.
Gonna nerd out on how I doubt that decent would be arrested without the breakage of one of the wings or such. If you look at the pfd during time 7:14. If you know anything about the visual components of the pfd you will notice how the attitude indicator is going about 20 degrees ND (Nose down), accompied by the V/S (Vertical Speed) in a caution yellow line (Vertical speed either direction greater than at least 10,000 feet per minute, not sure if the 777 is the same as the 737 so im just taking that as a base line). You also can notice how the speed is in the red speed tape (Overspeed, Vmo/Mmo). At a glance looking how far up it is I'd say the indicated speed would be about 390 to about 420 knots. You can also see the Speed trend increasing at a somewhat slower rate than it should be. With just this alone the plane would mostly likely be stressed past the point of limits. Looking at the pfd again you can tell the altitude of the plane is less than 2500 feet AGL. Proven by the top right of the pfd you can see the RA (Radio Altitmeter) is active (Actually altitude to the ground at or less than 2500 feet). Even if that wasn't enough evidencet for you, you can see on the bottom of the pfd the red "PULL UP" warning (Accompanied by an aural "SINK RATE" or "PULL UP"), which activates when you have an excessive decent rate below 2500 feet RA. With all of theses factors combined even with him pulling the speedbrake and closing the thrust levers the amount of force the plane went under would've most likely pushed it way past the G limit (iirc the wings are rated for 2.5 Gs). That would be if the plane even let you. And with that speed that they are at the plane would NOT become wings-level that fast and even if it did, it wouldn't do that without breakup of certain parts of the plane. And yes I know, its a movie, but other than that it seems good.
So nobody heard of quarantine?
Very good movie What is it name though? Can't find it in the description
Plane has no steering. But a yoke. Thanks for the recaps
i just watched this last night ! it sucks no country allowed them to land, essentially stranding them on air which is not their choice anyway
Bruh! I would never use a public toilet after this!
Made me tear up 🥹
Imagine them having to ditch the plane, only to get oceanic life infected and in turn killing all humanity. Instead, letting the plane land and make a quarantine zone on the airfield around it, seems like a more logical choice of action.
This is intense
There was a TV movie like this in the seventies (SST - Death Flight) that had a disease breaking out on board. No one in the world will let them land. At the end they decide the only thing they can do is divert to the country where the disease initially broke out, so they won't cause outbreaks anywhere else. Unfortunately they may not have enough fuel to make the trip. It had Peter Graves, Lorne Green, and Robert (Brady Bunch) Reed.
