Lots of books which use this premise, it can go either way, the minor sex becomes royalty or prisoners. As for Men, with artificial insemination I don't think they would become a crucial resource, and with modern technology there are many options to any strength based occupation or activity. Additionally with half the population gone, harvesting from nature for food which become very viable. In this scenario men could become toys used for recreation only.

Obviously the film's basic premise is ridiculous, but the reason life in it is easier is because of futuristic technology, so I doubt Bear Grylls is a good guide to that aspect.

I feel like it would more likely (due to the time periods view on women) that other countries and rulers would be very negative and possibly aggressive towards women in control of countries. Like does the study mention if the conflicts were responses to attacks or threat?

If someone is bullying you you have 2 options, 1- fight 2-walk away. Walking away doesnt make you a coward, it means youre still alive, and in the context of war then your entire country doesnt suffer. If walking away doesnt work then you could try talking to the bully or getting help from someone else which shouldnt count as the queen being aggressive since they delegated that job. Though her more relevant position is as Gwyneth Paltrow the CEO of Goop(is a wellness and lifestyle brand and company that pretty much scams people by selling absurd and unrealistic products for a high price, Snake oil).
