YES!The first music video I ever saw was „Slave to the wage“ - I think seeing him shaped my taste in men profoundly. Also have you seen the actor Jaye Davidson? Sweet Jesus...HE is HOT omg. Especially in Stargate , the movie from 1994... he is not active as an actor anymore.

Such a blast from the past watching this video - been a huge Placebo fan since 97. I watched this video many times a day when it was first released. Most of my friends thought Brian was the most beautiful man that ever existed but this video was just something else. He was most definitely my taste in men. Some of the boys at school used to bully me calling me a Lesbian because of all the “hot women” on my art file, they were a bit upset when they found out the women they were attracted to were men. 😂 Hopefully they questioned their life choices.

I've never liked when CI was labelled as teen flick. Yes, I know it was meant to be one. But I've read Choderlos de Lacloses book Dangerous Liaisons and seen all adaptations and I still think Cruel Intentions is the best one. Yes, Close&Malkovich&Pfeiffer are phenomenal and objectively, Frears version is the best. And it's true that, compared to dark, cold, cynical and brutally uncompromising original, those little manipulation games of the modern day spoiled brats are truly just children's play. But I've always found every film with original 18th century settings to some extent boring and unintentionally funny. The whole 18th pre-revolution century is. Men with more makeup than their ladies, fake freckles, never washed funny wigs made from goat hairs, bitched around theatrically like drama drag queens... Every adaptation, even great one always imitated the speech conventions of this period so they always told so many words but with the content missing. *yeah, Vicomte, you have money and all the time in the world but goddamit, spit it out already!* Modern CI was able to get the message of original across even though it wasn't actually "cruel", just cynical and nihilistic enough to be relatable to many young people in 90s. And since this message is timeless, film cynical and nihilistic enough to successfully tell the story is at least for me more than just another stupid and awkward teen film with good soundtrack. And... yeah, sociopathic dark haired Buffy on coke was always kinda... my weak spot. :D
