Burger Queen lyrics:
Slightly bemused by his lack of direction
Hey you, hey you
Came to this world by caesarean section
Hey you, hey you
Chooses his clothes to match his pallid complexion
Hey you, hey you
Now it takes him all day just to get an erection
Hey you
Things aren't what they seem
Makes no sense at all
Things aren't what they seem
Makes no sense at all
Goes out to cruise and to meet his connection
Hey you, hey you
He never scores he just gets an infection
Hey you, hey you
Dreams of a place with a better selection
Hey you, hey you
Still it takes him all day just to get an erection
Hey you
Things aren't what they seem
Makes no sense at all
Things aren't what they seem
Makes no sense at all
Things aren't what they seem
Makes no sense at all
Things aren't what they seem
Luxemburger queen
He's a burger queen
Slightly bemused by the total rejection
Hey you, hey you
Came to this world by caesarean section
Hey you, hey you
Dreams of a place with a better selection
Hey you, hey you
Dreams of a face that is pure perfection
Hey you
Things aren't what they seem
Luxemburger queen
Luxemburger queen
Luxemburger queen
He's a burger queen

Molko is so good at writing lyrics that are poignant and beautiful, but at the same time vague. Like, you're never sure _exactly_ what he's singing about, but the vagueness works like a horoscope in that people listen and fill in their own meaning, which is why Placebo's songs are so relatable.

Oooofff, this song, I would play this on repeat throughout the whole day at college, about 22yrs ago; this song was the only thing that helped me get through the day, the only voice I belived wouldn't hate me if said I wasn't straight. Weird, bringing back a lot of painful feelings but also like being wrapped in a warm, friendly hug. I miss those days, when discovering yourself was exciting; geez this song gets the tears falling.

I listened to this album loads in the year after my uncle died, 1998. Moved in with my aunt so we could try and deal with our grief together, which didn't work. Her CD player was on a rack behind the sofa and I sat there into the early hours and listened to this and Mezzanine by Massive Attack, both classic albums. I would chill out and drift off to this and then be awoken by Evil Dildo like a kick in the head, never forget that.

The first time I encountered Evil Dildo was in my car during a traffic jam. My drive to and from work wasn't long enough for me to ever finish the CD, but that day.... I was considering the lyrics from Burger Queen when it finished, since it was the first time I'd properly heard it, and it didn't click that there shouldn't be silence and that the disc should have started over. Scared the absolute fuck out of me when Evil Dildo started.

@@mozquiff1155 female.. yeah, I've had enough of talking to myself , answering myself , laughing at my jokes I tell myself .. it's been a couple of years .. I'm just different than those I've been in close contact with and my refusal to be fake nice or just fake friends just so I wouldn't seem so arrogant or weird I can't , I have my pride for one and for two I have an honesty problem so it never turns out good when others have had people they know who are empty, empty of meanings to understanding ,the one tone rainbow types right in front of me as a way of gaslighting me they've learned to not do that because well.. I will sit there and say absolutely nothing or I will say exactly to the point of what it is .. and the truth it shocks them . . And in these past couple of years I've discovered that my so called best friend( since like 1990-ish until recent-ish .. well it was a deception ai didn't keep many close to me in my circle ) while she really did like me and enjoy me she still was going to screw me over with others that we got along with her cousins and their cousins ... one of them who was a freaking nightmare that I had only met a couple of times came over to me and whispered that she was going to be me , ( horrifying I know)she was drunk/ tipsy and it unnerved me , I said nope I'm me, no one else can be me ever, you can't handle my shoes.. ( jokingly but seriously no .) she kept on to that effect .. When I was about to literally give her a taste of my shoe her cousin snatched her up and away .. her name was Jennifer .. and I listen to a Jennifer's Body , and I think of her, she is / was ( I don't know ) a horrible psycho type person I was told later .. the thing is they know more about me and what is rightfully mine that I earned , that I am of a natural type in who and what I am I never had it in me to be petty hateful or jealous .. I did/do think , and think of solution to problems on so many levels of such more important things that has allowed for their families selves comforts and safety all the while besties was info collecting my life .. no close family, a husband that has turned into the type of person I wouldn't talk to , three missing adult children ( 19-23 one is my niece but she introduced as her mom and I claimed her as a daughter ) we talked all the time and then nothing two of them it's been almost a year and half I've called and asked about them and nobody will acknowledge my questions of them one of them it's not been quiet as long and when I started asking about him ignored .. so trying to stay positive and not wish that they all the worst of the worst to suffer slowly and not die all the way quickly ... or say out loud or think it .. because I was told to not when I was very young .. so I didn't .. ( maybe once or twice .. when I was a kid ..) so.. yay me .. I'm not codependent , I'm not a push over ... I did have a point of loosing it, having just enough of all the ugly on this planet and I really really tried to just not be here anymore ... because damn for all the good I have of myself because it was what was right and just that the one time I asked for help ( not easy for me to ever do ) I was to deal and figure it out on my own.. just a totally cold metal door slammed in front of out of nowhere and my life my world was just flipped .. well I'm usually good at anything I try but I obviously failed woke up three days later in a psych ward , ... total 7 days and then the abuses started .. because of my one mental slip and my refusal to comply and conform and well it's hasn't gotten any better at all .. .. it kind of phuks with you when the ones you protected cared for did everything for never cared anything for you at all.. that's the cherry on top ..

I think in this song, Brian and Stefan tried to express the loneliness and boredom they felt while living in Luxembourg as schoolboys in the 80s. Luxembourger Queen may be referring to the unpleasant time they had there. 30 years later, Luxembourg has definitely become a much less boring place. The cover picture of the album may also be a reference to that boring part of their lives with the 2 girls (because Placebo aren't "straight") sitting face to face looking so bored.
