"August" reminds me of the Civil Wars--for those who don't know, they were a real heartbreaker of a goth/folk duo who broke up some years ago, to the great sorrow of their fans. This is one of the biggest musical compliments I can make, too. This song is truly lovely.

So the reason Civil Wars broke up, no matter how talented they are, they screwed over a lot of the people on their management team and it was karma, apparently they're not really good people at all. I know they're old manager and she told me the whole story. And she thinks they're amazingly talented but horrible people. So in the end it's good to know that if you're a horrible person that things won't work out for you unless you change your ways.

@Adam Sommer you're so rude, they arent even on the same label lmao and miley is getting the worst treatment from her label, they didnt send her songs on radios, didnt give her any playlisting while noah is getting everything from her label, i see her songs in the biggest playlists on spotify, her label paid for this good. miley is more underrated, her live vocals, her stage presence, her lyrics on the album are unmatched. really hope she will make angels like you or high or never be me as a single, but label doesnt give her promotions so i doubt she will release a new single

This literally made me ball my eyes out, my dads dying of cancer, it’s riddle through his body and affecting his brain he’s in hospital as we can’t care for him at home anymore. My oldest brother lives about 20hour drive away, my other lives just over an hour away, it’s just me and mum together, and she’s always been the strongest in the family but today she can’t stop crying.. I’m trying to be strong for her but I’ve been incredibly depressed for many years and this past year has been extra hard.. we’re just hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel. We’re not religious but mum prayed today for help, for strength.. just thank you for distracting me, reading my mind, and waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel ❤️

I feel like this is kinda like the epilogue to July. After she leaves her unhealthy relationship, August comes and now she has to learn about being alone. After all love, even if toxic, is stripped away there's a bitterness left with no warmth or light. Whether or not this interpretation was right, I still loved the song and am so happy she's been releasing more music. There's something magical about her songs.
