The fact that the Fandom has Madeline and Peppino having friendship in memes is just wholesome.

A really nice detail i realized while playing Pizza Tower is that, if you play in the Windowed mode, you can see how the taskbar name changes everytime you enter a new room or stage Devs clearly have putten a lot passion to this game and i love it!

One thing I REALLY like about P-ranking is that it doesn't DEMAND true perfection. I love Celeste but I don't think I'd have the time on my hands to go through some of the letter levels without dying for those goldens. In Pizza Tower though, the game is forgiving enough that you can still make mistakes and get a P-rank. You can get hit, retry a jump, etc etc but as long as you recover fast enough your combo is safe. It's such a nice design that makes me feel like it's actually possible compared to other games' "perfect rank." I've already P ranked the first floor and a few other levels and I'm only excited and motivated to try out P-ranking the rest of the levels too!

This ^^^ . One of the most satisfying parts of a P rank run isn't actually doing everything 100% perfectly, but somehow recovering after you made a mistake/get hit by an enemy. It makes the game so much more interesting than just "oh no I got hit time to restart"

Just having a missed hitbox detection when pizzaface is just right at pepinno's feet as you leave the pizzascape level and get the P rank is an feeling I WILL TREASURE on my first P rank. Its frustrating to fail but its worth every effort you put into, and you dont have to do them TAS moves or be perfect. Its worth having to P Rank these stages. If all else fails, you do get to enjoy the osts over and over again.

Wow... am I really that bad at the game? I can only manage a S rank on one level and boss, other than that I just get an A rank on average. I'm guessing it's better to use a keyboard rather than a controller?

True. Like you said, if you get hit, you can still recover from a P rank, which I really like since... i get hit a lot Also if you DO get hit, unless you go into a new room transition or something, you can still probably do a Super Taunt to get back at whoever hit you and recover your combo.

I remember seeing pizza tower in 2019, and I’m so proud to see the game getting all the praise now and is having a good community

Same here, saw it through Vinny streaming one of the demos and now nearly five years later it's out! Also as a GameMaker enjoyer Pizza Tower's inner working sound SUPER interesting

I know he says more but hearing "His moveset is wild!" And immediately, "You can jump-" It made me chuckle

Pizza tower has bounced around in my mind and I gaslit myself into thinking it didn’t exist until I realized I had been following the entire production since the beginning.

I can't wait for the devs to add The Noise as a playable character so I have yet another reason to replay Pizza Tower

It already was made, but got scrapped due to making him a boss, there's already a mod with his move-set, and another with the vigilante's move-set which are both just ports of the original version.

@@xanderharding6660 Actually, I don't think the full reason WAS making him a boss, the noise being a boss was planned as early as XMas Break (2019), while the latest playable appearance was the April 2021 build. I'm fairly certain that the noise was just cut because they...Wanted to actually RELEASE the game, making the noise would've probably required new levels to accomodate for his slightly altered playstyle. Maybe we'll get noise DLC one day, I'm not counting on it personally, but it's definitely possible, especially seeing the popularity Pizza Tower has aquired.

It really hit me on that outro just HOW smooth the spritework is. Every single pixel matters, they've got Disney-level buttery smoothness! McPig you are a legend for multiple reasons, I adore seeing such a fun new style of spriting take the world by storm! Pixel art has tons of variety if you really go nuts.

I remember when Pizza Tower was in development ever since 2017 (I think that's when the proof of concept build came out) and played through all of the demos I could get my hands on multiple times and always had fun trying to beat my best time over and over again. The movement in this game is so fluid and enjoyable to perfect that it gives official Sonic games a run for their money SEGA, eat your heart out

A great video to sum up my fave indie game of 2023 so far. I love that this game now is here and also in the 4:30 zone, it's funny you mention "Sugar Rush" because there is an AU version of Pizza Tower being made (with love) called Sugary Spire and that's what they're calling "It's Pizza Time". What a time to be a Wario Land fan

The moveset is so insane, you even missed the unique groundpound out of a dive

It’s a single-player game what are you talking about

Pizza tower has unique things like its ost and its levels that make you feel cheerful and have more desire to find out what this game can have the most.

what i like the most when p ranking is the fact that you can get hit or fall into a pit and still recover from it, that makes the whole thing a blast from start to finish

My favourite part of this game by far is the last level before you fight Pizzaface. (Spoilers be upon ye who press read more) War is literally the Pizza Tower using Peppino's PTSD against him, intentional or not. The level design, the music, the bomb timer and the fact of that Peppino has a goddamn shotgun, it's all taken much more seriously than the rest of the game. It genuinely feels like the tower is throwing everything it has at you, and Peppino's just powering through it out of sheer rage. Also, Thousand March uses a Waters of Nazareth motif and is named after an actual Italian military campaign which is based as hell, definitely my favourite level soundtrack.

Pizza tower is a straight up masterpiece no doubt. It is nice to see such quality product with an intresting humor and artstyle from an indie studio. reminds me a lot of Cuphead.

Awesome video your points are very well said. Also your presentation style and editing is amazing well done!

It's good that leaning tower of pizza finally gets recognition. Gotta be one of my favorite manmade monuments.

I saw this game in 2019 and thought it was an okay indie game. Couple years later I tried the sage demo and fell in love. I’m happy this game is getting the attention it deserves.

As someone who has played Wario land 4, I see this as an absolute win.

It always has been, ever since sage 2019 I saw so much potential in the game, it's wario land on steroids.

They say that nobody out-pizzas the hut. *_I think Peppino proves otherwise._*

I love how each level has a bunch of mechanics that never come back, just so much going on

I've been loving this game for a long time just for the art alone

I've been hearing quite a lot about Pizza Tower, and it gotten me interested. And I feel like your video did a great job as well of conceiving me that this game is GOATed. I understand now why people love the gameplay, animation, references, zany humour, music; it's so much fun. I gotta check this game out, and I couldn't thank you enough! Also Ik a lot of people have said this about your thumbnails; but they are REALLY good, trust me. Your art genuinely had a glow up overtime. Keep being awesome

This game is like playing Wario Land 4 with a Sonic mod in a sugar rush and i fucking love it

Finished this game today, and while I got really frustrated with certain parts of this game, I enjoyed it. The art direction, gameplay, level design, goofy story, and chaotic boss fights all make for a satisfying ending. W game.

Because of the comment, j really love to think that Pizza time is you running from a certain death, and Lap 2 is you daring for Death to catch you. Also the chaos that me and my friends had when i just first got into second lap asking "what is this"

Definitely right there about the p rank, it hits different in pizza tower than in any other game.

I love how well Foekoe goes over everything you need to know and some detail about the game! 100/100! Absolute masterpiece just like the game!

Wario Land Shake It doesn't get enough credit for existing. I can see a lot of inspiration coming from there for sure.

i remember watching a video on why those old wario games were genius for using that "run back to the start after activating the thing, but slightly different and on a time limit" and I'm so happy something recent is able to use it effectively after it was kinda forgotten about. it has such a loud and chaotic presence that it's afraid to go off the rails and you gotta praise it for that

I love how this Game doesn't have any complex lore,it's just so fun

I think what makes Pizza Tower so good apart from the art, music, humor, and... honestly, everything else is the fact it took wildly different mechanics from wildly different platformers, put them all in the same game... and made it WORK.

Pizza Tower also probably has the most public versions of it out there. There's like. More than 4!

I remember somewhere in 2020 when I found this game in its early development phase, I’m glad to see it finally become fully released and came out good

1:41 Oh, you like Sonic but actually good? May I interest you in a little game called "Spark the Electric Jester 3"? It's like if Sega stuck with the gameplay formula they had back in Sonic Adventure 2 (the speed stages anyway) and refined the sh!t out of the physics and controls while realizing taking control from the player for "epic set pieces" is stupid.
