Thank you for always being so honest with your reviews. It helps with purchasing decisions.

The hardware on the Mate X3 is ridiculously good. They sort of tapered the hinge area. It makes it almost look like a composition notebook which gives it a more streamline unibody appearance. By comparison, the Z and Pixel look more like a textbook. The Z in particular still looks like two phones stacked on top of each other. Anyhow, awesome review as always Ben. No one is going to argue you have the most experience with foldables, especially when it comes to comparisons.

Great video as always Ben! Great seeing someone with a ton of foldable experience share thoughts about the newcomer.

Bought HW Mate 3 back in May, using it for a month now. Love it! Just wish it has the flagship camera. Otherwise, am very happy with this foldable phone 😄

I really like my mate x3! I have been using over 1 month, there is no complaint, even though it has no google service and 5G. Generally speaking, some argued that it is ridiculous problem not supporting 5G in this modern city, but mate x3 has better signal connecting to internet. For instance, my spare iphone 14 pro was revealing the connection linking with 5G, but it could not be perfectly browsed website. On the other hand, mate x3 was perfectly playing video using 4G connectivity. Pretty love mate x3!!!

My BIL just got his today also and yeah it's super nice... That short stubby front screen is a bit too stubby... And the inside screen seem s a bit smaller than the fold ones, but I have faith in this one. We will see in the next few weeks.

Also Flossy Carter do foldables too. Google 's first foldable is good but I will wait for next year. Great job Ben✌🏿👍🏿💯

Yeah the screen material seems more reflective than others so under harsh uncovered sun the screen could be hard to see

Recently I got a replacement Pixel 7 Pro and since having it I cannot get below 8 hours SOT with my usage, i.e. 2 days at 4 hours SOT per day! So I am assuming that the chip used has been improved over the last 9 months. This is standard; TSMC states that improvement is ongoing per cycle, ergo 5% better yield per quarter. So I would not worry about battery life.

"OH!! SHIT!!!" these are the impressions I was waiting for. The Truth.

You mean Z Fold rectangular? I am saying this because almost nobody is aware of the fact that Pixel Fold's inner screen has exactly the same size as Z Fold's. Samsung actually nailed it from the beginning.

I assume "any other foldable" includes also Z Fold, right? But the Z Fold has an internal screen with exactly the same format (6:5) and exactly the same length and with. This is 100% true. I am not telling you anything wrong. It is literally the same panel. I have no idea how Google managed in their presentation to make everyone believe they had a unique display format.

Hello Ben, you nailed that comparison. Competition is becoming very though on foldable aspect and Chinese manufacturers are making it very competitive. Well lets see if Apple could get into that though competition 😅😅 Although it's difficult now that foldable has gone way better than the first samples of years ago.

Last time I checked, the latest Samsung fold demo unit in the store still have my finger nail mark on it. Whatever way better, it still way way way far from being basic durable

Ive been trying to use the Pixel Fold for a day now and even though the hardware is okay, it has first gen software issues that I don't appreciate for a 1799 USD device. Using the Pixel fold and Z Fold side by side, it's really clear the Samsung fold is superior. Even the software optimizations made by Vivo and Xiaomi, both of which I used, are better than what the Pixel offers

The Oppo Fold and Pixel seem like the most comparable. Be interesting to see the Gen2 Oppo Fold compared to Tensor Pixel fold since form factor are most alike. Peace

My preference is the Samsung because of its tall screen format when closed. The same way I prefer Sony's Xperia 1 and 5. It's because I'm disabled, I only have full use of my right hand. It hasn't stopped me from being a tech addict and I currently have a Z Fold 3. I'll be upgrading soon because I find the new hinge to be a big feature. So it depends on your preferences, which in my case is based on my physical limitations.

Wow, imagine if Google could collaborate with Huawei to make the next Fold hardware like back in the Nexus days with the latest snapdragon chip inside as opposed to Tensor.

I have been holding off on the Huawei Mate X3 because I heard the banking apps don't really work on it.I am in the USA.Am I correct that I could use Gbox,GSpace,and Lighthouse,for banking apps and everything Google related?Also,since you are very familiar with the Xiaomi phones,do you feel the Mix Fold 3 would be better for the banking/Google issues?Thanks.

Banking apps do not work in Britain or States, only Curve can be used for NFC also

Man the Huawei Mate X3 looks best to me but Im too reliant on google stuff so the google services thing kills it for me, huge disappointment and total bullshit how US tries to take its ball and go home regarding Huawei competition. That said pixel fold seems a little rough, think Ill wait for the Oneplus to come out....or maybe Honor foldable?
