Basically the reasons you told that google is shifting it's manufacturing could be very solid but there's one huge aspect to it. India has become a business hub. A lot of companies are now having indian CEOs as well and since it's very cheap for a US based company to manufacture something in India that's why a lot of brands moved their manufacturing plants there. So Google's CEO is also an Indian, meanwhile the labor and cost is pretty cheap in India that's why they're probably moving there. Now you know!

It's not much cheaper than Vietnam. I lived in Vietnam and normal salary is $1.50/hr

Google is playing safe when it comes to sizing. Because pixel 8 is not so big and it's pretty handy meanwhile if you see other smaller brands like Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Nothing etc they all are making bigger phones. So Pixel is the only phone that's pretty handy, then the base variant of iPhone and Samsung. So that's why Google's trying to shrink down the pro phone into a smaller size to target those who want a pro phone but smaller in size. Remember the time when google launched various models of pixel 3 and pixel 4 series. I can't remember them all lol 🤣 so yeah there's repeating it all again. My 1 single concern is that they should not increase the price on the A series and give similar years of update for the whole lineup. For example 7 years for Pixel 8a as well. That way in the smaller used phone market, these phones would still be holding some value. So yeah! 🔥
