Watch the 7 pro review. It came out first. This review was about the differences between the 2 more than it being a stand alone review. Ultimately he said get the pro over this. But he didn't say this was a bad phone.
Have to say I think the Pixel 7 is an upgrade in every area over the Pixel 6. As someone who owned both, the fingerprint sensor is better, screen has higher peak brightness, ai processing is faster across the board. Little to no bugs on Pixel 7. Taking pictures is faster, video recording is better on both front and back cameras. Battery life is better too from my experience I'm a moderate to heavy user and it gets me through the day just fine. Design is the only area where I think people would argue its not an upgrade. I prefer the design of the Pixel 7 feels and looks more premium. As far as haptics the same if not better than the Pixel 6. Overall would recommend the Pixel 7 to anyone looking to buy.

I just got the 7 recently and it has been a real treat so far. I've absolutely loved the phone and especially the pixel exclusive features that has been packed into it. This video, as lovely as it is, in my personal opinion wouldn't really give you the reviews you need as Sam has only been focusing on comparing the 7 to the 7 Pro rather than actually telling us about the 7 in itself.

your video is getting more aesthetically pleasing I love it
I think the 7 was decent upgrade over the 6 but from a purely design perspective both were actually a step backward from pixel 5 imo. The pixel 5 was literally the perfect size smartphone for any person with normal size hands who doesn't want to carry a huge slab around. The ergonomics were amazing and so easy to use 1 handed. It also had perfectly rounded corners and symmetrical bezels all the way round and the battery life was great. While I like the 7 rear camera bar, the front with the asymmetrical bezels and generic Sony like overly accutely rounded corners does not look good imo. I would have kept the sizing and bezel style of the pixel 5, gone with an in button finger print sensor and put a proper ultrawide on it.

Agreed. Plus pixels have always been utilitarian, functional and a nice user experience, an understated ,yet attractive design. The pixel 7/pro looks like an over dressed Christmas tree and it's way too big- all that shiny rubbish attached to it , I don't like the pixel 7 at all . I hope they tone down the pixel 8 and bring back the pixel feel and experience!😊 I don't recall my previous pixels having as many niggles.
I'm still trying to find scenarios to use a macro lens lol. Reviewers act like features they like are useful. But many ppl don't even care.

Nice review man, I really appreciate the effort you put into the visual and sound pleasantness of your videos 👍
I wasn't expecting a comparison review based on the title but this was a good one. The Pro is too big and that's the end of the discussion for me but Google have priced them both well IMO as it will give some people a tough choice.

Nice review, I've got the Pixel 7 and it is so beautiful love the phone's design! I like the phone's interface and the google cam which gives really great pictures. Third party launchers are so much slower than the stock pixel launcher. Maybe that's why you feel the phone is so slow. I installed microsoft launcher on my pixel 7 and i immediately noticed that it looks like the display is 60hz even tho i turned on smooth display. Sam do you notice a white boarder around the text on the pixel 7? Most noticeable when reading black on white, there’s a halo around the text (I don’t have the contrast boosted). It’s mega irritating.

love ya videos, good .😁
Honestly this year the 7 and the Pro are both EXCELLENT for their price. Got the normal version but very happy already.
The only thing I noticed was a few tiny scratches on the screen, which was odd since I never dropped it or even put it screen faced down. I returned it and waiting for a new one. Other than that I'm very very happy with it, it's a smart smartphone so to speak and you have to be a bit nerdy to really enjoy it.
very good review !
I came from the iphone 13 pro max to the regular Pixel 7. After much hesitation in the beginning, I can say that I love the Pixel 7. For a regular non pro model, I feel it performs just as good or better than the iphone 13 pro max in a lot of areas. Now yes I do miss a couple small features from an iphone but they're nothing deal breaking and the Pixel 7 makes up for it by having other better features.

Amazing Review 🔥
The title should've been PIXEL 7 vs PIXEL 7 PRO. I recently upgraded to Pixel 7 and I feel like you were nit picking throughout. Because I'm not coming from 7pro to 7. I'm upgrading from a 4 year old device and 7 is just amazing.
Personally, I feel the Pro is too big. It wasn't that long ago that we were trying to have smaller phones and now the flagship models are two handed devices that don't fit in your pocket. The P6 is stretching it for me (went from P2 to the P6), so the slightly smaller size is a plus for me.
Pixel 7 pro is on sale for £799 on Amazon in the UK atm very tempting
The intro is 🔥
Did the October update ruin the haptics on the Pixel 7 like it did for the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6A??
2:19 If you watch PBKreview teardown videos (pixel 7 pro video at 1min 25, pixel 7 video at 1 min 49), the haptic engine look exactly the same in both phones.
Hope I've make a great choice buying the Pixel 7 (It arrives this week), I was thinking to get an iPhone since I'm tired of Android due to the social media apps and its bugs, but decided to give the last chance and now I'm switching from my Note 10+ to the Pixel 7 (also I was tired of big phones and curved displays)

Hi Sam How can I disable the quick settings panel on the lock screen? ( on Google Pixel phones) . I have changed the settings on the power button to turn on Google Assistant so nobody can press it and turn off the phone . But anyone can easily just drag down the quick settings from the lockscreen and power off .
Is the camera on the regular 7 better than the 6 pro? I really want to make the right choice for my New phone and cant decide between those two.
The only annoying thing about my pixel 7 pro is that when I am on call or taking through discord while connected to Bluetooth headphones the game sound is muted and i can't hear any game sound..
how do you get these micro small icons on home screen ?
best review on youtube, thanks
I think it would be nice for the fingerprint scanner to be on the power button, like in Zenfone 9. Apart from that, this is the phone of the year
Can you share link how you customize this setup on you pixel? Thank you.
Whta icon pack is this? I mean those white icons because there are others for what I can see ;)
I'm just not loving the design, I don't like all the shine and sparkles . I took a look at one in store and decided against trading my pixel 6 in . I was disappointed with the pixels manual standard brightness too ( not HDR or auto peak brightness, but it's normal brightness) didn't seem as bright as the pixel 6a parked next to it . Personally speaking, I prefer the design and display on my pixel 6 and I agree with you re your comment on the displays.
Went with the Pixel 7 and it's the best phone I've owned. Love the look of it in Lemongrass but it's too slippery so a case must be used.
Mr beckman can you please have a video on how to turn off shortcut notifications on IPad I tried following the one you already did but had no success after switching the notifications off and all the other stuff
I love my 7. I had the 6 and kind of didn't care much for it. the new size, weight and FPS alone makes it worthy upgrade. throw in the low price and it's a steal. yes, of course the pro model is better. you have to give people reasons to spend $300 more when the 7 is so damn good.
Nice video. But is this pixel 7 review video or pixel 7 vs 7pro video
I wish the bezels are symmetrical. Would be the best mid-range pixel phone to date.
I'm currently using a iPhone 12 and just want a change of ecosystem. Because of a big sale on here with my carrier until Dec 31 I could play it safe and go with the iPhone 14 but like I said .. kinda tired of them. Looking at either the Galaxy S22 or Pixle 7. However I've heard of the following issues with the Pixle 7 and just wondering if they are valid concerns? 1. Green and red rainbow effect on white screens? 2. Bugginess? (freezing, hang ups etc) 3. Finger sensor issues? I also love Carplay so any issues with this phone and Android Auto? The other thing I'm hoping to find in an Android phone if I can is a cool feature all my iPhones have had and that "repeat alerts" for my messages. Iphone users know what I'm talking about ... you can set your phone to AUDIBLY alert you to a text message for up to ten times ... at 2 minute intervals. So after a message comes in ... it'll alert you immediately (like any other phone) but then every two minutes it sound another audible alert ... and it'll do this for up to ten times (depending on how you set it) So basically you can have an audible alert periodically happening for twenty minutes after the message first came in. I love that feature because my phone is not always on my person ... so this makes sure I don't miss a message if I'm in the vicinity but not with my phone. Thanks in advance for any responses to my questions/concerns ... it'll help me greatly to make this decision! 🙏🏿
I bought a Pixel 7 and returned it. The display wasn't smooth, battery life was bad, fingerprint sensor was a problem, constantly and it was very buggy. Then I bought another Pixel 7 in white. It has none of those problems. It's a completely different phone. I get great battery and the screen and opening work consistently. It's hard to read a review without wondering which of these phones are being reviewed. But your review makes that mostly clear by comparing the two Pixels.
Why compare it with pixel 7 pro only?

Upgraded from 4a5g to 7. I like my 7... but god DAYUM the under-screen fingerprint scanner and face recognition unlock sucks arse. I missed the finger scanner behind the phone. Just went to check both 7 and 7pro and came back with my 4a 5g, to be honest there's not much of a difference in fact I like the flat and wider screen on my 4a 5g and of course it is much much lighter, cameras in that shop setting weren't too far apart either, in someone photos I preferred 4a5g.
