I've never gone over 100 gb on my phone. And as far as the games with 60hz. That has nothing to do with the phone. That's the game software. Some games are and some aren't other than that I see nothing wrong with the phone. It's new unique and simple

No review of the fingerprint sensor? Heard a lot of flak for that, but nothing in this "honest" review yet...

For main camera, Pixel 6 is capturing photo with 50 MP and then bring it down to 12.5 MP for better image quality. It averages out 4 pixels in one. It's called pixel binning. That way file size is lower too and 12.5 MP is more than enough for a 4K photoshoot. Great review by the way!!

This is the 1st time I have heard about this! Everything I've seen says 50mp camera. What about using the 50mp when you want to crop a "zoomed in" portion of a photo & maintain the sharpness? Or to enlarge an image? 🤔 There's going to be some furious people.

CNET article says: "The main camera on the Pixel 6 has a wide angle lens and a 50-megapixel sensor, which is the largest sensor ever in a Pixel camera. The camera uses pixel-binning to combine multiple pixels together to create a 12.5-megapixel photo." but nothing says it won't output a 50mp photo. Just says you can "pixel bin" to achieve a smaller & sharp photo.

Good summary, but you forgot to mention the price! That's the biggest pro of this phone. You get very close to top end flagship features for almost half the price

I believe that the 12MP limit using the 50MP sensor is caused by intentional "pixel binning" through the "develop" algorithms to improve noise ("grain") and whatnot. The 50MP is simply a way to create a better 12MP final image. The RAW files (in this case DNG) are the same size, which is the tip-off to what's going on here.

I think you're wrong. Google camera RAW's output is 50MP

I bought my Pixel 6 (amateur, not Pro ) on Oct. 30 and am generally quite happy with it. However, there are a couple of annoyances and one problem. The annoyances are a) it's way too slippery. If you're not careful where you put it down, you may find it on the floor. Also, sometimes it's hard to remove from my pocket, as my fingers slip. b) I don't like the removal of the 3 buttons at the bottom of the screen. Those buttons worked far better at things like switching open apps. The problem has to do with devices connected to the hotspot do not get an IPv6 address, though the phone gets one. My previous phone was a Pixel 2 and with the same SIM and APN, devices connected to the hotspot get an IPv6 address. I have filed reports with both my carrier (Rogers) and Google on this. Has anyone else noticed this issue? My phone was $574 (CDN) from Rogers.

My biggest con for my Pixel 6 would be that the big glass camera bar makes me super nervous i'll break it by accident otherwise I love the battery life, the screen size and speed of it. and the price haha

I have been a Google device fan since the Nexus One. I haven't been this excited about a Google phone since the Nexus 5. I just got my Pixel 6 yesterday and I am very impressed. It's good to see Google attempting a real flagship in earnest. Hardware always seemed like an afterthought and something simply just to showcase the newest version of Android. Overall digging it.

I got my 6 Pro and am pretty happy. Thankfully, I don't game and I usually charge my phone by plugging it into my laptop. The cons aren't anything for me to worry about.

I remember when i watched nearly every vid of a phone i wanted before buying it. Nowadays, I don't watch much about specs but i look for features. Glad you brought up important notes on like the adaptive display and camera. Nice feature that it lowers itself automatically rather than draining the whole phone. Other cons like storage for SD card aren't important much or gaming. i dont care much about those cons since I don't game and i use cloud storage more often for back up. I bought the pixel 6 cause of the color (Sorta seafoam) coming from the pixel 3. Great pros and cons video!

Best review I've ever seen. Keep up the great work man. Appreciate your efforts. You touched on the speaker quality a little bit. Just curious if you could compare the quality to the Nexus 6 or Pixel 3XL. Better or worse is all I'm looking for. Basically, the Nexus 6 had great speakers compared to the Pixel 3XL. I want the Pixel 6, but only if it's speakers are better than the Pixel 3XL's. And most importantly, are the top and bottom speakers equal in size and power? The Nexus 6 had twin speakers, but the Pixel 3XL had a larger top speaker than bottom, so it always sounded weird since one speaker was stronger than the other.

Great to see that nearly all the 'cons' are mostly personal preference stuff. Really stoked to get this device - been waiting to upgrade my phone for years

Thank you for no-BS review, this is what I was looking for. The only thing I'm interested in, how is the under-display fingerprint sensor? I had a few phones with that option, and most of the time when I needed unlocking there and now, it would failed to do that. I had to try it a few times until it unlocks it.

Well with my experience the fingerprint sensor is AWFUL and why I am returning the phone (one of the main of many reasons). I put the fingers I use each in multiple times and frankly it plain SUCKS! It's slow when it actually reads it and sometimes just won't read it at all. With the weather getting colder and peoples hands becoming drier- this will only get worst.

I love my pixel, had Pixel 3 and now a 5. A few things I found a little annoying 1- The fact that after typing the pin (when you need) you have to press "enter". I miss how on my HTC the phone would just unlock when you press the last number. 2- Not having the power button texturized. A little detail that was pretty good. Now, it seem like the Pixel 6 will not unlock if the screen is off, meaning you don't have the clock on for example. So you'd need to wake the phone, then unlock with your fingerprint. That being said, I like how the Pixel phones with fingerprint on the back of the device will just unlock even if the phone is "asleep". I hope this change in future updates.

Thanks chigz..one more cons with Google pixel is in this day an age external storage... But I love what google has done with it.. can't wait for the pro version video .😁😁😁👍👍👍

Can you clone over "photo bombers" by uploading old picture taken on a DSLR camera to your phone? Is the software as good as Photoshop?

Had it for a day and I like it, but there is a big jump in features and behaviors for me. The biggest thing I'm working on adapting to from Pixel 2 is the lack of navigation buttons. I'm starting to get the hang of swipe control navigation, but it's extremely different. P6 is also WAY taller and heavier than Pixel 2.

I'm not a big gestures person either. I switch back to the nav buttons. 2. Once you get to Settings, navigate down the list and then select the System option. 3. After getting to the System menu, tap the Gestures option. 4. Inside the Gestures menu, tap the System navigation option from the list. 5. In the System navigation, tap the 3-button navigation option. This setting will replace the swipe actions with three buttons on the bottom of the screen.

bro i just wanted to ask if we play pubg on this device for more than 1-2 hrs does we see frame drops or overheating issues?

Camera bump is what gives you this great camera.. and we all use a case so that gets rid of it and protects the camera

Great review, I have just bought the Pixel 6 and am extremely happy with it, already had a wireless charger so no charger is no deal breaker. When compared with my old Samsung S9 this phone is leaps and bounds ahead of that in terms of resolution and build quality. You get a lot of phone for your money.

LOVE THIS COMMENT.... my S9 screen cracked... I was going to replace the screen but Rogers offered the Google Pixel 6. It just arrived and now I have cold feet thinking I did the wrong thing buying a $1000 phone when it would have only cost me $50-100 for a new screen. But the S9 camera sucks so badly so I'm happy to see someone happy with the switch

Excellent concise review, no male cow excrement. I particularly like the way you kept your bullet points on screen whilst continuing talking, very helpful.

The Tensor chip is a semi custom Exynos copy with off shelf cores. Was hoping google went all out but I guess they needed to undercut the other flagship in price. Not a bad budget flagship none the less. 2 X1 core setup was interesting, yet performance wise is unseen. The rear camera bump is going to be loved or hated, I could live with it only because I put bulky cases on all my phones. AI seems to be in a league of its own from my research. Pricewise the many flaws of this phone are worth the budget price.

You didn't mention the fingerprint sensor which is a big gripe for many owners? and what about it feeling top heavy in hand, because of the bulky camera?

If I had to choose between them, I’m picking the Pixel 6. More power and better cameras and software.

Developer options should have an option to set refresh?

You can force 90Hz under developer options. I'm not sure but I think the slow framerates on games are just the developers not supporting the phone/chip yet

So far the only legit con that would apply to me is the "Might Overheat" one which from my usage may not be an an issue at all. Great Video though.

My most used feature of a phone is the phone. I would like to hear more about that. How long it will last without charging is also important. A phone with an expensive camera that is not supported is a lost feature. Give me a good camera and drop the price $100 and it is a far better choice. I presume the pro version of this phone will pick up where this phone leaves off. Of course, I'm a senior and my use may be different than others.

Personal preference. But I love the camera bar. Perfect fit for index finger the way I hold the phone. Ensures phone lays on a table without wobbles as well.

Excellent review. Also worth noting that this will receive software updates in until 2024 and security updates until 2026

Cons-so far the difference between charge rates with google pixel 18 watt charger and the 30 watt is 10-11 minutes for a full charge,android authority did a great article on this,max charge was 22 watts,then goes into same algorithm as 18watt charger after 50pc

Reviews have mentioned this as a con (you didn't though), and I hated the in display reader on my old S10, the one on my P5 has been great. 2. How does the size feel to the P5 for 1 handed use? The in-display fingerprint sensor on the pixel 6 is much better than the pixel 5. One handed operation is not possible for me personally. As pixel 6 is much wider and taller than the pixel 5.

Regarding charging speed. How much time it takes to fully charge the Pixel 6 ? Because i saw slow charging results even though it supports up to 30W !!

Is there no option to force 90Hz in Developer Settings? This was possible on the Pixel 5 through developer settings?

You missed the very poor "audio adjustment" setting with the "Accessibility" menu. You can NOT centre balance the left/right audio output channels at all! It's either a tad to the left or the right. Or mono?!?! Why?!?! This also applies to any headphone connection via cable and all bluetooth devices. I really hope this get's fixed.

Hi, I've just got the Google Pixel 6 Pro. Was loving playing around with it at first - but then I found it just won't charge from any cable - not even the one supplied with the phone! I've had my pixel 6 for a few weeks and love it. The biggest drawback to this phone is the authentication methods. It would be great if it used face ID to unlock as the fingerprint scanner is pretty hit and miss. Great video! Thank you very much.

ensure you have the correct type of screen protector, i ordered the wrong one and for days i was thinking "the fingerprint is rubbish" then i replaced the protector and it works fine now, google has recomended ones which are best for the phone
