Hamza Hamim ---- Got some bad news for you. Among all Pixel models Google just sells about 4 million phones in a 12 month period. About 2 months they got rid of 2 execs from the Pixel project, probably because sales are so lame. One of the guys they got rid of was the head of their camera project for Pixel. Good news, the guy already found a good job with Adobe. But my guess is their camera goes downhill. Just so we can put that 4 million phones in context, Apple does that amount in 3 days. There is nothing Google can do to make it "game over". Sorry I ruined your fantasy.

I'm more surprised with how good the microphone on the Pixel 4a is. Not just this review, but others. Pixel used to always have a bad mic, but this time they did it right!

As an artist, I photograph my artwork and post it on social media. That’s why I need the colours to be as accurate as possible just like in real life because my art won’t look the same if it shows up differently. So the pixel 4a has my vote.

Humans and night mode I give to the Pixel, nature and most other photos were a wash, video clearly to the iPhone. I'm surprised how much it tried to smooth out skin, even after they patched it out after the initial conversation about that, and the night mode shots were oddly warm compared to what you'd expect to see by eye. The other daytime shots, I'd be happy with either, they're both good in marginally different ways.

I've been watching lots of videoson Pixels, waiting for the Pixel 5 to be released in a few days ( in replacement of a S20 Ultra Exynos), and this has to be the sharpest of them all. We can really appreciate the strength of the phones thanks to the excellent definition. It's seriously good! It makes me wonder what you have used for filming yourself and how you edit and export the videos. I haven't watched it yet but your work deserves one more sub.

Hey, I have quite a few camera comparisons with the Pixel 5 that I'm working on...cant post them till Wednesday. So for filming myself I use a Sony A6400 and the Sigma 16mm F1.4 and I edit everything together with final cut pro x

You remind me of the captain on Metro Exodus. One of my fav. games btw.

The iPhone 11 video in low light didn't hunt for focus while panning. That's incredible. Apple about to hit us with night mode for the selfie camera, you know it 🤞🏽

@@Mistygio hey can you send me some samples if possible? of selfies with neural cam and seflies with the default? Want to see how much of difference is it. Currently using a different camera app and setting slow shutter speed to get better images. But wondering if the neuralcam would be better

A very useful (and telling!) video! I think the Pixel won the night-time video - it seemed to take in more light. I just pre-ordered my 4a for $300, and almost feel guilty for getting this camera at that price. Thank you for this review! It was really helpful.

I’m an iPhone user with no plans to move to Android but I’ve always been impressed with the cameras on the pixel. For the price, it’s incredible performance. Hopefully Apple will invest more into camera software improvements.

I remember years ago, comparing these two price points with phones wouldn't even come up. It's crazy that we're seeing so much improvement. Pretty soon phone manufacturers won't even need to put a flash on their phones.

Good test! I Changed from huawei P30 to the Pixel 4a, and never looked back.

Very good comparison , the best i watched so far! For me im going for the Pixel 4a, but i have to wait 1 1/2 month to get some.

You can edit the Pixel 4a camera portrait setting to make soft pictures. When first tried, i hate my pictures so much. It looks so real and original, luckily 2nd day, i found the setting, and it make my pictures so soft :) like edited.

You can actually take ultrawide photos with the pixel 4a using photosphere, it requires quite a bit of patience and I recommend doing this in landscape mode, not portrait.

Goggle camera tech is amazing - no quad camera set up needed, only processing to achieve multiple mode photo/video. At that price it is the winner. In a blind test the 4a would still come out well.

I actually prefer most of the 4a's video footage there, except for at night. But even at night, though it's brighter, it's also noisier, so there's not a lot in it. Sometimes the iPhone has the edge in colours for my liking, whilst the 4a has sharper detail and that's the thing reviewers miss - you can't add detail after the shot (at least, not without a lot of AI), but you can easily tweak colours.

I noticed with the pixel 4 there's more highlights and shadows when it came to the portrais

for everybody talking about pixels portrait croping. u could just take a normal photo and make it a portrait in google photos and i always do that so no croping ; come guys u know better . u can have control over the blur and portrait light is a good addition to.

Imagine what Pixel 4a would have done if they used an advanced camera hardware.

Hey, you are right, the videos that you post on Instagram stories look pretty bad if posted from an Android phone. It's the same with the Pixel 4a

You made a video titled "Pixel 4a vs Iphone 11 - camera comparison", but made this video by using DSLR, this proves the camera quality of both the so called flagship phones. Thanks bro, I will go and buy a DSLR....

Pixel 4a does a very good job there, especially night shot, and for only $350.... I very impressed.

I would recommend getting an external microphone for whatever phone you choose. Will make a big difference in my opinion

The pixel’s images are a hair sharper and more realistic in tone, but I’m a sucker for the warm photos of the iPhone.

I do believe the iPhone caught up to the pixel in photography with exception of portrait mode

You said that Pixel 4 nighttime video is too bright and noisy, but with a single touch in the viewfinder you will see brightness control, which you can even lock so it won't change while you move. But yes maybe the phone should have been smart enough to figure the brightness out on it's own.

Redskull so would you recommend to change from the 7 plus my needs is shooting video at night time especially for recording concert.. it is essential to me to know it o don’t need 4K but just 1080 60fps night time good video

I don't record videos with my phone anyway so that's not really a deal breaker for me but when it comes to photos there's no doubt that the Pixel 4a is overall the better option from these 2. For $350 it has one of the best if not the best camera on the market and Google will sell a lot of these phones.

TBH, the current gen phone cameras have lot of post processing but the images look real bad on big screen. If one of you still owns a Nokia 1020, it might be a good time to revisit and see image quality.

both phones are amazing but which hurts your pocket less you should go for it (repair cost included)

That moment when you can afford 3 Pixels for the price of 1 iPhone.

Whether you're in the Android or Apple camp I think things like this really show all of us that we should be questioning whether or not these $1,000 flagships are really worth it. Like if the pixel 4a had wireless charging, I FEEL LIKE for most people with a case on they wouldn't notice a difference between this and a flagship. Same really with the iPhone se, the build would feel premium, the internals would preform even closer to flagship level, except in that case you're going back to a really outdated front set up of the phone. Like one or two more budget generations and for like 90% of people the ""budget"" model will be completely acceptable

The thing that annoy me in the Pixel phones is narrow angle during recording video. How Google could state wide angle is redundant :(

Yeah, they do that so it can get better stabilization. Action Camera manufacturers do the same

If only pixel performance as good as IOS & refresh rate 90 or 120Hz it will be a bonus.

To me, the most important thing about a phone is the camera because the pictures you take with them last longer than the phones, so you want to a phone take takes pictures that looks great 10, 20 years from now!

In every single night mode picture the iphone 11 has a lot of noise. Pixel 4a though is really clear. Look at the sky. It almost looks like a painting in the iphone because of the amount of noise.
