Pixar ain’t what they used to be
Фильм және анимация
Pixar movies haven't been the same in a very long time. I wanted to take a quick look on what the reason could be. And then, because I was bored, I decided to do a Pixar Tier List.

I’m torn on this. Because I think perception is everything. Movies like Soul, Luca and turning red got a bad rap because it was perceived as straight to home video. I think if the pandemic never happened, and these films got their normal theater release, they would have gotten much more praise.

I think Soul especially would’ve done very well in theaters
Like the tier list format and agree with most except Up is def S tier for me, Wall E is an easy A. Also I finally watched Finding Dory for the first time last month and I thought it was super funny. Great vid, i liked lightyear dont hate me
While I will admit Elemental was a fun time, I couldn't help but feel just how conflicted the movie was about its own message. The ideas are there, but it really doesn't work in a lot of aspects, like the world building being so... uninteresting? Like take thw fence joke, for example; in a world made by water people, its obvious why a simple femce wouldn't work, and yet it's there. Itd be different if the complex was in, say, the wood people, but then again, admitting both water and steam communities inside it makes you wonder why they decided to forfeit the world building just for a joke, and this makes you notice all the other areas the world doesn't work. The main conflict was "resolved" early, but when focusing on the characters for the rest of tye second act we spend time with them, and anything besides the romance falls flat on the third act, the biggest offender is with Amber's goals that flip from inheriting the store to create glass vessels seemingly because her boyfriend's family complimented her skills, which at least were introduced early, but more as a "neat" thing that just so happens fire folks can do, like the steam people's flight or the wood people flowers, etc.

All very good points! I enjoyed the movie, but definitely felt areas it was lacking in.
Good to see your vids
continuing ya tangent lol i was too hooked, the main thing i didn't like about elemental was how it seemed to have a clear director difference about half way through. the first half it teases a conspiracy with the gate to get rid of the fire people, clear segregation and seeming to be a fight kinda movie with plot twists and heavy plot focus, like a classic story with a scheming antagonist and a goal to achieve to do that, and with a great underlining message of racism. but then it kinda seems to give up on this in response for romance and following your dreams, as if there were 2 creative ideas going on the whole time or a change of main idea half way through production
I have just one word.... ka-chow :)

Whats wrong with sequels everybody went crazy for a toy story 4 and incredibles 2😂 we waited on that for like 14 years. I agree with everything else but theres nothing wrong with sequels

I do agree that there's nothing wrong with sequels. I was just personally disappointed with Incredibles 2 (especially after waiting 14 years) and felt that Toy Story 4 was unnecessary.
How could u put Elemental in C tier?! 😭
