Postman here. You would be surprised just how many dogs greet me that way. I know almost every one of them by name, I always have treats for them and unlimited pats and butt scratches. I also have that one dog, where I don't deliver post anymore, but I walk by on my way home, and even though she didn't see me for a year or so, she recognised me almost imidiatelly, grabbed my hand in her teeth and then walked me to her home :P I have many owners, that I am the only stranger their dogs like, because normally they are shy or skittish, but they are happy about me. This is the only thing I will miss about this job when I finally dump it. Edit: I seem to have befriended some crows as well. I give them some treats, and they call each other and land near me and follow me around. Though they don't let me touch them or come too close. One even scratches my bike with his talons to get to treats.

My dogs are still active ignoring our new Postman because they keep on waiting for our old postman (1 yr gone). Only the regular UPS driver and the trash pick up men are welcomed the old fashion way. Only the little furbaby will wag her tail at the new postman.

Once it happens the dog is no longer a kind dog if it was previously. A compassionate owner can only raise a compassionate Pitbull up until this occurs.

Yes, that’s true when they are treated well, but unfortunately there are still lots of people attracted to pit bulls precisely because of their ability to frighten people and kill other dogs, and train them to be weapons. Then there are owners who have no idea how to train or control dogs and let the dog walk all over them and everyone else. Assuming that all pit bulls are sweet and cuddly is just as foolish and unwarranted as assuming they’re all vicious. Dogs are a reflection of their owners; I generally don’t trust a pit bull or a dog from any fighting breed unless I’m cool with the owners first.

I love when dogs are friendly. I had a neighbor when I was growing up, his dogs always came over to the fence, if you were friendly. When one passed away, we'd grieve and tell the neighbor, how much his dog meant to us. Dogs and cats, do bring people together.

We shared our lives with a Dachshund for many, many years. She was & will always be Family. We used to say/still say; Technically she doesn't belong to us --- We belong to her. They are a gift. I once heard something that's so very true: Humans are born and then learn love, learn - to - love. So humans need many years to grasp that ability. But animals are born with love, ready TO love & RECEIVE love from the start. That's why they don't live as long. They don't need all those years to acquire the ability.

Dogs really do change your life. Its amazing how one animal can fill an entire house with their presence.

Years ago, while I was living in Florida, I walked by a yard sale and stopped to take a look. There were dogs walking around greeting people, but I noticed there was a pitbull leashed to a tree just sitting, ears down and looking sullen. I said, "A pitbull!" and walked over to it. He stood up and wagged his tail as I walked over and as soon as I got to him, he flopped onto his back and was all about the tummy scratches. He was really a sweet dog. When I asked the owner why the dog was leashed up I was told that when he was up and around, people were afraid to come to the sale and only started stopping to look when the dog was moved away and leashed. Poor doggie.

There is a statistical reason for this apprehension and the serious mayhem some of them can inflict. Many insurance companies will not take on the liability if your household harbors a pit bull. Obviously, A reason for this and it's not prejudice.

@h.l.b.6122 Not sure where you are, but here in the States, when a dog bite is reported by the media, the only time the breed is mentioned is when it's a pit bull of some kind. That is definitely prejudicial. Pit breeds, as in any dog have their own personalities that vary from dog to dog. Generally, pits that attack people have been mistreated, improperly trained, or improperly socialized. All three are human errors.

Tubs looks so girly-girl in her little beaded necklace/collar. She's a sweet, beautiful little princess. And an ambassador for her breed. Good girl, Tubs.💙💫💙

The way he was holding her in his lap and she just looked so calm and content was so sweet. I am so glad that the neighbors are petting her and saying hello, that they aren't afraid to pet her. Look up the article called 5 types of pit bull bog breeds, it’ll tell you some of the breeds that are considered pit bulls or bully breeds. It’s important to know because of the discrimination around these dog breeds, like at apartments and even vet offices.

That's a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Pit Bulls have a very deserved bad name. *All dogs* are amazing, friendly, loyal animals. Only a select few were selectively bred to mutilate other dogs in illegal pit fights. The Staffy was one of them, but fortunately due to mid-1800s laws in Great Britain, breeding for aggressive pitfighting traits was outlawed and the breeders had a century and a half to focus on temperament and game show qualities instead. I don't blame Pit Bulls for their existence. It's our fault that we created monsters. But we did, in fact, create monsters, and we can humanely phase them out by preventing additional breeding and focus on the other several hundred dog species that are just as amazing and friendly and loyal without the occasional side-effects of going apeshit and mauling a passerby's legs.

​@Sock_of_Bad_Karma Not all pitbulls are aggressive, though. People just utterly suck at raising dogs. They think a dog will magically be an angel without work put into it.

Most people keep dogs for safety from others and love for themselves but you keep your pup for all... Such selfless act is pure love. ❤❤❤

I’ve seen Tubs everywhere on the internet and I’m in love. Nothing like a happy puppy.

It's not a pitbull, it's a staffy. Best breed in my opinion.

i used to work on a building site and one of the houses was finished , the owner moved in (getting to the point lol) while the site was still a building site this house was occupied by the owner and the owner owned SIX huskies lol , every morning and every lunch time these huskies where let out to come greet all of us ....they would be all over the site saying hi to everyone and it simply made every ones day that much better it was amazing lol - and yes the site was clean and safe (my job) for them to to blitzing around , the huskies used to sit side by side in a line waiting every morning for people to turn up.

Omg, this is just the most precious thing I've seen! I luv this, Tubs has such a beautiful soul and I'm glad she has brought joy to u and the community 💗 ❤😊

Tubs's gentle love and joy is infectious. She's such a sweetheart. Kudos to Isabella and Connor for recognizing that, and letting her create and share happiness in their community as well as themselves. There's a reason this breed is called nanny dogs in some parts of the world.

The love of an animal is freely given with no expectation. It is truely beautiful.

If this pupper was in my neighbourhood it would make me go for walks all the time. I'd give all the pats! What a cutie pie.

If a doggie goes and gets their favorite toy to show you when you arrive, that's a sure-fire way to know that you're special to them. Daddy is definitely her favorite.
