From Pastor K in The States, so good to hear your report! I've been fascinated w/Pitcairn for some time and am very familiar with how the Lord turned around the early population from mutiny & murder to faith in Christ thru Brother Adams. I know he was Church of England, then the SDA mailed materials to the island in the mid-1800s and most there changed to Adventism. While I'm not SDA, we share most doctrines in common, of greatest import the need for salvation by God thru Christ. Wonderful to hear you witnessed much to those on Pitcairn! May the Lord bless you to return if possible.

That island has been plagued by religion in its past, it's only just broken free getting rid of some archaic laws, only to have you two try to infect them with christianity once again. Just leave them alone please.

Without it everyone would have been killed in that bloodshed that was going on between the mutineers and the tahitians

It's religion that kills people, see Northern Ireland. Religion is when people say they religious but don't live their Christianity. Actually most Christians give God and Jesus a bad name. This pastor and his wife were there to tell the people about Jesus and God and not about dumb religion!

Chris is right. The mutineers and Tahitian men murdered so many, there was only one man left - Brother Adams - within just 10 years of their settling on Pitcairn. However, Adams read the ship's Bible and converted to Christianity. His leading the islanders in faith and hard work turned around the community from near extinction to flourishing when the first visitors came a few years later. Most Pitcairners are Seventh-day Adventists now, but originally it was Church of England.
