The problem is... they know that you can't actually consume those refills. Are you going to take home cold movie theater popcorn or that drink with all the ice melted in it? If they refilled you on CANDY, ok, bring a bag and load up. But they know very well that 'free refills' is a scam, because most people are not going to eat 20$ worth of popcorn in a week, still less in a single sitting in a movie. Who would even want to eat more than one tub of popcorn? Just go and look at the cost of ordinary (non-microwave), plain popcorn in the supermarket. See how many servings you get from one bag or jar of popcorn, popped in an air popper. Then calculate how much you would earn if you sold that popcorn for 10 dollars or 6 dollars a person. I want in on that business.

So here's the thing: if your dog is only ever on a leash, what happens on the day he gets away? I'd rather have well behaved dogs off leash than dogs on leashes that you can't trust if someone opens the door. My 2¢

The only law here is 'law suit', and since my dogs don't bite, your fear is nobody's but your own (I hate text, that last bit sounds abrasive, but what I mean is in the most loving way possible: fear only holds you back, no one else). I would encourage you to overcome your fears by volunteering at a shelter, getting to know as many dogs as possible, even the aggressive ones (when experienced and with help of course), so you can understand the why and when and who and what, and maybe even socialize them.

@@wilfdarr I'm very well aware of dog's and socializing them. We do adoptions one of our groups stipulations in the contract is to never have your dog Unleashed outside of a fenced area. I am not scared of dogs. Much prefer them over people. I'm just aware that it is important to protect my dog. It's your business if you choose off leash. I don't let my dog socialize on the street. We go to other events. Odds are if you approach my dog on the street and your dog is not leashed, I'm going to tell you to get away from me and my dog. My dogs are not designed like most. They have very thin skin and one playful wrong nail placement could put my dogs needing stitches. So I don't want your friendly well-mannered angels annoying my unruly brats. Have a great day

@@roaddemon20011 my area has no leash laws and thus no 'off leash areas'. Where then is my dog supposed to get exercise? Edit: is this sarcasm? Why would a "reputable breeder" breed an animal with such skin problems, and why would you support this poor breeding?

I had a dog come at me barking and snarling. I'm shouting at him to back off but he keeps coming. I got my pepper spray out and was just about to douse him when the owner called him off saying "oh he doesn't bite!" I'm like yeah right

I don’t know if you’re serious about the shouting and pepper spray, but as someone who was raised with dogs-some nicer than others-I’ll share a few tips if you’re interested. First is that if a dog is charging at you, it’s either looking for love or a fight. If you’re not sure which, stay on the safe side and don’t make eye contact-they see it as a challenge. In fact, do whatever you can to avoid acknowledging the dog; it will only become more riled up. Also do not run-not only can you not outrun a pit or a shepherd, but they love to chase. Avoid acknowledging it and in most cases, the worst you’ll get is a nibble before it loses interest; if the dog jumps, simply raise your knee-it won’t seriously injure the dog, but will be uncomfortable enough for it to back off. Just keep walking and it will run off. Now, if none of these work and the dog is intent on attacking you, shouting and running won’t help-at that point, you absolutely want pepper spray; anything else will just add fuel to the fire.

Shouting (or showing any obvious signs of fear) is the opposite of what you want to do: that just makes the whole situation way more exciting. I wouldn't say don't make eye contact, as this can make you look like pray, but don't make sustained eye contact like you're staring the animal down (this is a good rule for all mammals). I had a shepherd and a Rottweiler come charging out of a yard at me, my little sister, and my retriever. They were bouncing (bluffing) and baking. I put my sister and my retriever behind me and just stood there at about a 45° angle to them, not challenging them but not ignoring them either: they knew that if they approached my dog or my sister they were getting a boot in the head. Once they realized I wasn't challenging them, they calmed down, and we mosied away.

Violamae I like the pepper spray reaction. If I'm in the street and a dog is charging me, hopefully, I have two pepper sprays or some sort of deterrent that is stopping the dog. Because I'm not invading the dog’s space and I believe we should respect one another boundaries.

The problem is that I walk my dogs on a leash but if one off the leash comes up to mine, then mine will defend the pack... other people need to put their dogs on a leash for their dogs' safety, not mine.

I've had someone shrieking their dog's name before as it was barreling toward me, clearly in a panic and then they say, "don't worry, he doesn't bite!" why do you sound so scared then? I had someone assure me their dog wouldn't bite me and then immediately the dog bit me. I like dogs, but I don't like other people's dogs, because they don't know how to control them.
