Dude, Brazil is a hotspot for edible Myrtaceae species from the Eugenia, Campomanesia, Psidium, Myrciaria and Plinia genus, definitely recommend you to search for more species from here in Brazil, including Cambuci (ovni shaped fruit), multiple Guabiroba species (Campomanesia sp.), Araçás (Psidium sp, same genus as guava), Grumixamas (Eugenia brasiliensis, Eugenia itaguihiensis), Uvaia (Eugenia pyriformis), Cagaita, Ubajaí...... I could be listing species the whole day here :) Try searching for the Colecionando Frutas project by Helton Josué, one of the biggest fruit collectors in the world, on the site there's a list of all edible fruits from Brazil, and you can refine your search by plant families.

You can find them on the Beach in Búzios, Cabo Frio and Arrail beaches even bigger and sweet. If you get chance try Cambucá (Plinia Edulis) known as the most delicious fruit in South America. Harvest on December and January. all the best Eduardo

i first learned of it in this wonderful book, "Brazilian Fruits and Cultivated Exotics" by Harri Lorenzi, et al. I saw the pic and was fascinated by the description...so i asked around, and luck would have it, Chris Rollins, who was curating the fruit and spice park in homestead FL, happened to have a seedling, and he gave it to me as a gift, when i traveled down to homestead to take his grafting course. i think that was around 2011? then i ordered seeds from fruitlovers.com, and Oscar Jaitt sent me some amazing quality seeds, that were from improved varieties, much better than the ones we already had here, which were more sour, and less productive. And then, i started collecting as many seeds, and seedlings as i could from all sources in USA, and started to notice a lot of variation...now i have a few selected to graft!

Stevia is on the order of 500 times sweeter then sugar - the mind boggling part. It's a peptide - going directly to the brain receptors for sugar so similar to an opiate but not a drug. A benifitial plant like your review of miracle berries in that stevia has no glucose, sucrose, fructose sugar molecules. Doesn't affect blood sugar levels - good for diabetics.
