Pit Bulls Attack a Man & Seriously Injures Him
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 6-18-24 9:07 pm
LOCATION: Vista Santo Domingo
AREA/CITY: San Diego
DETAILS:
A man visited his friend living in an RV in a vacant lot at the south end of Vista Santo Domingo.
As the man entered the RV, the friends’ Pit Bulls attacked the male.
The male was attacked by possibly up to 5 Pit Bulls.
The dogs even bit their owner, who was trying to stop the attack on his friend.
SDPD was notified, and upon their arrival, they found the victim lying unconscious in front of the RV.
The dogs retreated into the RV, and the officers dragged the victim away to a safe distance.
The male suffered severe bite wounds to his head, arms, legs, and abdomen.
A tourniquet was applied to one of the male’s legs.
He was transported to Mercy Hospital, and his status is unknown.
Paramedics and officers were seen treating the dog’s owner for his bite wounds.
The San Diego Humane Society was brought in to take the dogs in quarantine.
At one point, the owner, who was trying to help gather the five dogs, allowed the adult male dog (who did most of the attacking) to escape his control, and the dog came after me but did not bite me.
The dogs were finally all taken away.
The SDPD stated that these same dogs attacked a man last week who was simply taking a walk, but was not seriously injured by the dogs..

I was just thinking about this yesterday, if a person is homeless or lives in some sort of vehicle what in the world makes them think that it's a good idea to own a pet especially a large breed dog. If I was a dog, and my human was homeless I'd be mad too. Your not in a position to take care of yourself much less a pet.

Dog was sick of being abused. Pet's don't attack their owners without good reason.

I've had pit bulls for 40 yrs but these owners are idiots! There is no excuse for your dog, of any breed to bite people!
Pit bulls and other large breeds MUST require a license to own. I am so sick of bad owners failing their dogs. What is he thinking having 5 dogs in an rv? they need to run,play,exercise for at least 2 hours daily. These mo-ron people think a walk counts as exercise. Please demand laws all large breed dogs must require a license, classes for the owner to know how to care for each breed, MANDATORY spay/neuter and current registered microchip. Nothing will change until we demand it.I have been rescuing pit bulls and other large breed dogs for 50 years and never had a single incident. I do a background check on adopters.Several home visits to ensure its a safe place, and follow up visits to make sure the dog is being properly cared for and fed decent dog food. It's really not that hard. Shelters adopting dogs out should be mandated by law to do the simple above things instead of just handing dogs over to whoever.It's unacceptable.

@@markat9576 I hear that a lot from dog owners my dog would never bite anybody, I've been bitten by a crazy dog once years ago the owner said right before the dog bit me he would never bite anybody the dog just ran up to me and bit me I sued that person nice and good maybe they learned something 🤪

why did the famous "Little Rascal" show use a pit bull around kids and got look- alikes after the original dog died? Because pit bulls are perfect dogs when not in the wrong hands.

Prayers for the friend who was attacked. 🙏🏻 not a good situation for the dogs or their owner. Its very sad and I hope people do not react to the extremes.

They flip out no matter what they're in. They go bonkers out of the blue. And it's so unpredictable that even the ones treated well have been known to suddenly snap although most of the public denies it. Why anyone needs such a powerful breed is beyond me.

Yeah okays. Some just like all large dominant breeds have issues. Also people breed for that aggressive size and attitude. Have been around them all my life including the one 6 inches from me not a problem because I don’t allow it to be.

I've seen homeless people mistreating their dogs however I hate seeing homeless people with dogs, regardless. I give them the benefit of the doubt when the dog looks like they don't miss a meal (coming from a 3rd world country I've seen what starving dogs look like). I don't think a homeless person has any business owning pets. Dogs, especially certain breeds, need a lot of enrichment in their lives. I really am sorry about what happened in this situation, but I feel worse for the dogs because that is no way of living and the biting dog will most probably be put down.
Don't shame the dog..shame the owner...hope the injured man is ok, but I assume now the dogs lose their life bc of a poor excuse for an owner!
So someone is keeping their dogs in an RV full of crap 💩? WTH? How about selling the Bmer & putting up a proper dog enclosure? That’s so wrong. 👎

@@lipstikknleathr i have a pit bull that is a big baby he loves everyone ive had a total of 7 and every one of them have been very loyal lovable dogs its how they are raised they are not born agresive they are trained to be that way and people need to stop blaming them and blame the stupid owners
Don't blame the breed of dog it comes down to the owner of the dogs no matter what they're dog breed is I've been around Pitbull breeds since I was about 7 or 8 and not one of them ever bit anybody they were all wonderful loving dogs because they were brought up correctly with good owners

Dogs were and are breed for certain traits. In some of these dogs the trait that was bred was strength, a fighting instinct and a determination to not give up. You can train a dog but they still have the instinct. Try to train a Terrier dog not to chase a rabbit or a rat.
pit bulls are amazing dog breeds but its the owner fault who treats them bad thats why they attack people
