PIRANHA 190CC FULL Engine Tear Down | Diagnosing what Broke in Transmission!

Today we diagnosed Peters Piranha 190cc from when we broke it on the pit bike rope swing.
One thing led to another and we end up with the whole engine torn down. Our issue was found in the transmission.

    You need to order a what’s called an up dated selector pawl it is a factory fault witch they all suffer from it’s when the gear shit gets jammed when going between 1st & second gear

    Hi slavsquad i have some question , i have a 125cc pit bike but i wanna instal a 160 cylinder on it but it doesnt fit ,I have to dig the engine a little bit so that it will fit

    you should do the shift star mod on all zs190's it's on youtube I think it was just a washer, the newer zs190's have them, I think ur friend bought a old stock

    @@slavsquad it just depends on the year it was bought the number on the block will tell you and the size of that trans shaft will also be a good indacater on the year of the engine

    @@josephsaucedo8691 I know the shaft won’t be gears in it was a bit thinner then the shaft that tbolt sent me. I had to swap over all The gears to the stock shaft. Idk if that helps determine the year

    @@slavsquad no measure the shaft diameter depending on the size of it will more or less indacate the year there different sizes for different years. 👍🛠️ I also have a complete gear set that just needs the shaft swapped out. It out of a racing model 190 Daytona engine and selecter drum matching set that I swapped out. Bailey luntsford 190cc look for his video on KZread it might help you. He works at a motorcycle shop as well.

    @@josephsaucedo8691 yeah I did. My oem one reads 15mm New one is 16mm So I have it apart again. It almost looks like the shift shaft isn’t letting it shift all the way into gear starting 3rd-5th If I move the sprocket it will snap into gear

    DNM shocks 1000lb or 800lb and find the size you need in mm it’s fully adjustable and mx ready

    Went to school over the last day and came to the conclusion...maybe I should put non-chinese parts on the Chinese bike 😂

    When you put it back together make sure you put the washer and indacater back with the shift drum if not you will distroy the gears. The rod that was bent should of just cut it off they say to not try and hit it through but you did it fyi. Ya I figured that the gear cluster less than 60$ if you would of e mail me I could of told you what to get to upgrade your engine for cheap and wear to find the parts for the lowest cost. If I would of none the upgrade would of been part of the rebuild and not much more or less than what you probably payed. Just because the parts for these engine are usually way over priced because of over seas sells.👍👌✌️💯🥂🏍️🛠️

    What washer and indicator? Where the neutral wire is? I actually have the whole engine back together but it’s not shifting to well. Kinda lost as to what it is. Any ideas? I feel like I put everything on right. I did the star thing you told me about with the washers for the shift drum. But idk it will go to 1st and neutral. Maybe second but won’t shift up after that. Now I know to reach out to you!

    Yes it's part of the shift drum assembly. It's could be the drum assembly to tight when assembling put the washer and indacater back and tighten first it hold it all in place the shift star mod should be done after it's almost all assembled I'm thinking it's in a bind 🛠️🏍️💯

    @@josephsaucedo8691 yeah I put the washer and all on the shift drum after I put the transmission back in the engine. Then I put the other case on. Everything spins freely on other transmission components. Is it possible that the shift drum has to be put in a certain way?

    @@slavsquad not really but the gear placement and shimming placement have to be done just right for it to shift smooth. Look up ooracingtube video on the 190cc there very good video should help out a lot.🏍️💯🛠️👍🥂

    Remove all the bolts and I barely tapped it with a rubber mallet and it split. If it won’t split then you can use a case splitter tool. Just make sure your removed all the bolts before you force it. I know the video doesn’t show a few bolts that were removed. Look carefully

    @@DanielGutierrez-gk3qo it was really easy. You don’t need to remove the Phillips on the fly wheel. I didn’t need to remove the fly wheel at all. Just depends if you’re replacing a crank or not. Your crank bearings may be tighter on the other side not letting the clutch side come out first. So you may need to remove the fly wheel to split the cases. There’s a few bolts I believe close to the flywheel. Should only need to remove the 8mm bolts all around that flywheel side of the engine
