Hi Frederico, this model can be connected to an external SWC interface so I suggest speaking with your nearest authorised car audio dealer to see what additional interface you would require.

Everything "sounds" good and I like Pioneer too but audio performances wise how does this unit compare with Kenwood or Alpine? Also Kenwood specify 5V pre amp output which is a very valuable information for people who want to expand the system so what about Pioneer?

This SPH-DA160DAB unit is not a budget one for sure but it should be OK for people who will only use the integrated amplifier and 1-2 pair of efficient coaxial speakers. But consumers are becoming more and more DIY to save money so I believe that it would be wise to show more information on the web site, look for example at the Chinese brands, they tell every specification so a DIY person knows what to do. But again, for a common client who knows nothing and lets an installer do a standard job, it should be fine. Bare in mind that a third party "standard" installation (stereo, 1 pair of speakers and a set of a car's personalized accessories) will cost around $600 (excluding stereo and speakers) so you can see why people like me prefer to do the DIY way.

So you have to use a usb lead to use Apple CarPlay ?

Yes, this model requires a USB connection for Apple CarPlay.
