Pioneer PL-12D Turntable Maintenance. Belt and Cartridge replacement.

Attention Audiophiles: I already know. I did everything wrong, I have no business pretending I know anything about vinyl, turntables, or stereo equipment in general. You are all much better than I could ever even hope to be, I am but a lowly philistine.
Now that we got that out of the way...
Coming to you once again from the isolation chamber/fallout shelter/dungeon of doom, we are back with another repair video? This time we have something completely different. I decide to finally get around to fixing my Pioneer PL-12D Turntable. I clean it up a bit, throw on a new belt, and a new Audio-Technica AT95E cartridge, and test it out. Will it work? Will your host get angry and throw it against the wall? (my money is on yes). Will it be worth pointing and laughing at your host's continued stupidity? Tune in and find out!

Apologies for the commercials, I got copyright claimed, guess I didn't get obscure enough with the tunes. Oh well, I'm ok with throwing a few bucks at independent artists whenever I can, and Drag The River certainly is worth checking out, IMHO.

I am fixing up a Pioneer pl-10 right now. The pl-12 is almost identical.Nice tables. Also. Great choice in music. Jon Snodgras and Drag the River is definitely an awesome choice.
Half way through I realised that this video would not be very helpful since big chunks of what you were doing were missing. I should have read your comments before watching. But on the good side - you're an honest guy!

Didn't see you service the spindle bearing, why? Ouch my man.
Cut out too much detail including replacing the mounting screws, adjusting the counter balance, etc. Good video on how to open the new cartridge box

Well, like the thumbnail says "Worst. Repair. Video. Ever." Not gonna disagree :) Seriously though, thanks for the feedback, you're right, I did overedit this one, skimmed over things that are important, and cut way too much out trying to shorten the length of it, as I thought it was getting too long.
Is it supposed to make that grinding noise when turnin?

The belt will make noise when transitioning from 33 to 45 rpm and vice versa as there is a guide that moves it to different areas on the motor spindle. Once the belt is in place the noise stops. Of course this unit has been sitting for a long time, so I'm sure some lubricant might help too.
Help please! I just bought this turntable on Craigslist for $325. I get it home after transporting in my car and several different records skip while playing. What could have caused this issue? How can I remedy the issue?

Could be a couple things. Check to make sure the counter-weight and anti skate is set correctly. I don't show it in this video but there are a bunch of videos on youtube that show how to set it. What size belt drive ?

I just went on eBay and searched for PL12D belt and got a lot of hits. The seller I bought from on eBay was lawzukas413. No complaints from me, seems fairly priced, and was shipped in a timely manner. eBay link: www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-turntable-Drive-belt-for-models-PL-12-PL-12D-PL-12D-II-PL-112D-PL-112-/320959946625 If you look elsewhere it appears the length of the belt is either 23.2 in or 23.6 in depending on where you look.

Here's some constructive advice. Your video would be better if you had better lighting. Just improve one thing at a time and you will get better and better.
