Seriously. It's like every note is packed with some kind of meaning. I'm sure it's just her amazing voice, but it sounds like "Bobby McGee" is sitting right in front of her and she needs to get this off her mind. I know she didn't write it; that'd be Janis. But she definitely did the song justice.

What most people don't know is that Kris Kristofferson wrote and sang this song at a slower pace, before Janice, while honoring the original, took this song into the stratosphere!💞

I come back to this video every so often and each time it is sweeter and more energized. Pink has the extreme vocal range needed to honor Janis. NO I am not an expert. I just know when a song and the vocals reach inside me.......if I need to explain it, then you just don't get it. Many people know what I'm talking about. Thanks Pink- and she is from around the way, another reason to love her

you know I grew up listening to Janis Joplin and never thought I would hear someone replicate nor get even close to sounding like that raspy blues singer I grew up loving and listening to all my youth. I can"t believe it"s been 20 years. She's still underrated. Her singing so freaking amazing!

Still mind blown! This is what music was before digital piracy killed soul and spirit. Our artist reflect where we are today. As a 60 something man. I celebrate the youth. I can’t define the generations (that’s a wonderful thing ), we have back to back generations of some of the most caring and vocal youth. I have not heard anyone say it and I think they are in denial, but our youth cares about the America and all her people, like our parents. The greatest generation of Americans (to date).

Pink is such a amazing artist...her singing this is a proud tribute to Janice Joplin

I remember when I worked in radio, I met her at tower city in Cleveland. She is very tiny, but you wouldn't know it by her voice! I cry just about every time that I hear this song, because my mom used to sing it to me when I was a little kid. Those memories get even more valuable when the person passes, and the emotions run even deeper. Excellent rendition.

One of the best singers of this era........Great talent, great voice and beautiful woman.

I just don't get how someone who's laughing away having a good time can give such a raw, gritty, emotional sounding vocal performance, while basically just dicking around.

She was most likely laughing at the guitar player for messing up. Don’t blame the guy, though. He was probably so entranced with Pink’s performance that he lost himself in the whole thing (happened to me a million times as a keyboard accompanist, believe me). Sometimes a vocalist just kills it, and you suddenly forget where you are and what your job requirement is, for a brief moment in time.

Honestly 1 of my favorites to hear Pink sing!!!

Pink is amazing singing Janis, she'll be so proud. Even the laugh was perfectly timed. She's sang that in the shower soooooo many times, you can just tell.

"Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose - I'll trade all my tomorrows for one single yesterday..." I usually am not into Pink, but here she does an incredible, incredible Janis - in her own voice. I love it!

I grew up to this song in the early 70's as well as many other great songs I will never forget!. It was an awesome time to grow up, I wouldn't give it up for thew world. One thing I have to say is that I wish my Mom could sing this song to me when I was younger , especially how Pink sings it.. she fucking rocks and I don't think there is anybody who could ever put that much heart & soul into it . She is an inspiration that holds this music so deep to her heart. I can't say enough good about her or any Mom that could sing this song to their children at night. May God Bless You All!

@@shawndouglass2939 Chris Kristofferson and his producer a guy last name Ford co wrote the song and Kristofferson performed it first. Kristofferson had a affair with Janis J but it was some time after that she first sang the song. There is a KZread video out there where Kristofferson is interviewed and explains the whole thing

Well it kinda looks like it was the fist time they were jamming this song together, because she is really looking at him like, ok were changing chords here, ok next verse, ok softer, repeat etc... As an ex singer, i know that this is how i was acting with a guitarist to be sure that we both follow each other, especially if we never played the song together before. But since they are both professionals, they did an amazing job!

I'm a classic rock, hard rock and metal fan so certainly not a Pink fan but damn she nailed this to the point I could feel it all the way to my soul. Some music is just nice ear candy but this was soul touching filled with energy and was simply sublime. Everyone mentioned how she would make Janis proud have to wonder if Kris Krisrofferson has heard this version and his take on it as he was the original writer.

I always loved Pinks music but damn she sang the hell out of this. She has done Janis Joplin proud. I could listen to her sing all day long.

Man, I never liked Pink till I found this video. Modern day singers have seldom appealed to me. I have always thought what a bunch of no talents we have today, with all their sound editing, enhancing technics, their wind blowers, lasers, and smoke and fire on stage and all sorts of showcasing antics. Got to the stage where I thought geez can anyone just sit there or stand there and sing with none of the above. Then.......I saw this, and I was totally blown away I was left speechless. Thats a hard song to sing as well and Pink just nailed it to a tee, she was brilliant. Honestly sometimes I think many of the songs sung today don't do some of our artists justice. All I know is it took this song Bobby McGee sung and recorded decades ago, for me to see this wonderful artists talent, and Pink has it in spades. Thank you, Pink you are incredible.
