this property was bought by David Gilmore I think his name is of Pink Floyd in 1980..it was built in 1580 supposedly and he had a recording studio in there that Tom Jones..Rod Stewart ...and many others recorded in including Pink Floyds 1987 album.Then in 1987 he sold it for 12 million to a record producer who did the video ..video killed the radio star...and the guy also managed the group Frankie goes to Hollywood.Then in 2007 he was out with his 14 yr old son shooting a pellet gun..well when he shot it it ricochet and hit his mother in the neck..She was rushed to the hospital with a pellet in her artery..she was put in a medical induced coma where she died in 2014 7 yrs after being shot.The property was abandoned by the son and husband right after it happened in 2007 and had been empty ever since.Thats why stuff is still in the place they just never went back because of what happenef

@ agent black There's no electricity, or heating so it's not even possible to live there without fixing just those two things, and that alone will cost a few milion, not to mention the cost to renovate the entire mansion. And it looks old and has alot of wood work in it, so that must smell like a stinking old and damp church, and not to mention the risk of a fire with all that old and dry wood, so al together it's not worth saving it. Hell, even taking out al the dirt like fungus, mold, and dustmites would cost a fortune, because that's a job for alot of men in disposable white suits and masks. So i gues that torn the whole place down and built something smaller but better and new is waaaay cheaper than fix this dust bin.

No matter what has happened, it is such a shame that nobody lives there, or sells the property, or donates it to The Historical Society, or something. These mansions are just too beautiful, and expensive to rot away, and get vandalized by crazies. There are too many homeless people as well, who wish they had a beautiful place to live.

@@susanstewart4184 By the time they were making mansion money, they were all married with children. I know quite a bit about PF and I never heard of them owning a mansion together. If you watch the DVD I mentioned, this looks like that. David owned a mansion and sold it quite a while ago, he gave the money to the homeless, but it looked different on the outside.

That's crazy! How the hell is that place wide open & hasn't been looted?!???!

This is such a beautiful home. Even if it's not abanonded why would someone neglect a beautiful home like this. Honestly, as much as I am against breaking and entering this house was definitely sitting there and for a long time. I am very glad someone saw it's beauty and has purchased it. Hopefully they can respect the home more than the previous owners.

Your video would be more interesting if you didn't film the floor so much. There isn't anything interesting about dirty carpet. Hold your camera at eye level so we see what you see and don't pan the area so quickly. Every time it looked like we were going to see something interesting, you passed it by never to return.

Could have been an interesting house.......but instead it was an interesting video of carpets, dirty floors, & dizzying camera sweeps! Talk louder - give interesting commentary of the surroundings. Stop swinging the camera around so fast - slowly sweep the whole room, then focus on a few unique features of the room - furniture, paintings, anything but the floor. And, PLEASE, don’t use that old, worn out creepy music. Soft background music that doesn’t interfere with your comments would make it better. Thanks for trying. Please, accept these comments as an opportunity to improve. I’m not trying to be mean or ugly, just offering my suggestions. Keep on exploring!

The explorer doesn't care that he has a 20% thumbs down ratio. Even worse than that, he belittles his viewers. This is not only poor reasoning, it's the kind of thing that wipes businesses out every day. How many subscribers does he have? 707? In 10 months? So not only does he belittle viewers, he doesn't have the sense to see that 70 new viewers a month is abysmal performance for a YT channel. Dude, leave your pride at the front door and listen to the comments. We love vids like these, and you visit cool places. Just take a few hints along the way and make things better for everyone. Dearest Explorer: If you are going to take your time doing this type of film work, you FIRST need to take some videography lessons from an expert. You move to quickly with the camera and the effect is largely lost for the viewer. You need to add verbal explanations to enable the viewer to know more about the buildings. In this video since you can be heard off camera whispering, I take it to mean you are trespassing and do not wish to be heard/caught.

Try exploring the building first to get your thrill over with. Then by all means go back or continue back so your viewers can experience the pleasure. We saw very little except carpet and floor!

The Explorer Returns - I agree with some of the other comments. Slow down and turn your volume up if you are going to whisper. It would have really been interesting to see the name and the year of the magazine, plus what the page was opened to. Maybe you will go back? It's a shame when these types of places go derelict, when they are not used except for a tax right off.

This would be a good video had you held it still and not followed the floor so much, and shown more of the architecture.

Why all the whispering? I presume that Pink Floyd members weren't actually in the house!

Gorgeous home! Loved the bathrooms, woodwork, lighting, and furniture, great detail work and murals.

I keep expecting someone to wander out of a bedroom and say "Oiy! What are you lot doing here?"

Nice floor shots, i now know what the carpet looked like throughout the place. You already know from the comments that u panned too fast, some rooms u went back into several times; i was hoping to get a better look @ some stuff u missed but, u totally glossed over them time and again. This mansion for the most part looks quite well for being abandoned. Cool video though 👍 thanks for sharing!

I agree with the others on the sound and especially the camera work but your other stuff looks interesting, so it's worth a look. Hopefully things have improved since then. :)

Where's all the dust and dirt from a place that's been abandoned? Definitely not abandoned.

If it really IS Pink Floyd's house, they should be ashamed to let such a lovely house decay and allow it to be open to vandalism or worse - destruction. It looks as if it should be protected. Honestly, couldn't they just pay a couple out of their billions to live in it and maintain it??

Amanda Pittar ok there’s just so many things wrong with this comment 1.What do you mean by Pink Floyd’s House it was a BAND not person 2.It was owned by gilmour a Pink Floyd member and it was abandoned cause something happens here but I forgot. 3.Decaying was bad yes but it was abandoned cause (if I’m wrong correct me) the band broke up. 4.The worst thing THERE NOT BILLIONAIRS!There million airs not billions only the 1% has billions (not all) but this is just plain stupid

Oh nonsense! If they can afford to leave it empty they/ he have more money than sense. Millionaires stay millionaires by making good fiscal decisions - like selling off surplus/ unused properties and putting the money into something more profitable. If it is Estate property , the Trustees are criminally negligent. If the person who owns it has forgotten it, they must be a billionaire- and all the members of Pink Floyd possibly are together, because only a billionaire would forget they own a large house for such a length of time. *Billionaire * millionaire * they're or they are, and I am not sure o the definition of a billionaire - millionaires a ten a penny nowadays, especially USA$ ones. I will come back to you. Always good to banter.

amanda,, are you brainless? estate was built long before the band pink floyd even existed,, david gilmour used to own it, he sold it so he is in no way responsible for anything , the owner after him may have sold it, and so on and so on,, it may have sat empty briefly, now it is owned by someone else, its really simple

Oh dear. I did preface this with "if it really IS....", which should really cover your comment. I realise that the house was probably built in the early part of the 20thC - it seems to have some Arts & Crafts elements. Pink Floyd members were mostly born later, let alone formed. I prefaced my comment precisely because I based my then following comments on the premise that a member of Pink Floyd owned the house. I was trusting that the videographer had done their homework, and actually knew who owned the house. I call it a house, and not a mansion, because it is really a large house. It is not an estate, because we did not see extensive grounds or lands attached ( barns, stables, outhouses etc..). I was, mostly, lamenting people with more money than sense who allow beautiful and often architecturally important houses to fall into disrepair through sheer neglect. That house has been empty for several years, not " briefly" It is not a lack of money, but ignorance. By the way Jim, it's Amanda with a capital, as well as all the others you missed. Also, how do you know the alternative history??

I really wanted to see what was up that crazy staircase, I know you guys were nervous so not a bad job considering. I agree that you should focus on some of the smaller details too such as the magazine, etc. but I imagine you didn’t have much time. Above all, thank you for your respect while filming this awesome place.

@Madison Wadsworth $1500?? A Black Magic 4K is only $1200 and anyone can shoot good 4K on a $500-$1000 budget. There's also nothing wrong with using a GoPro, if you know what you're doing. I don't need to be a cop to know shitty driving when I see it, so I don't need to be a content producer to know bad footage when I see it. There's also no real description of the video and it's not "Pink Floyd's Abandoned Mansion", it's simply an abandoned mansion that was once owned by David Gilmour.

I would have loved to seen where that staircase at 9:20 went. would have loved to have seen most of the house. But was totally in love with the blue bathroom

I agree with above criticisms. Sound crappy and couldn't see the rooms clearly because you were whirling the camera around so fast. Would love to explore this house again with someone who knows how to film shooting.

A beautiful mansion with sad story ? But please don' t abandon this expensive property ..You can give it to orphans, homeless people, disable people, hospitals, etc....Thank you for sharing the amazing video. Good works, guys!

It’s still used for the recording studio in the old outbuilding which he wasn’t allowed in, Gilmore regretted buying it. It can be seen from the M25 Surrey and was once an old dairy farm

Omg this was thee worse footage ever! The camera was always aimed at the floor and when there was things to see the camera spun past them so fast u didn’t see wtf it even was. I was literally getting dizzy. Idk if they didn’t show the stuff bc they did t want anyone to see what they were going to take or what. But u would think they would have cased the joint and took whatever out first then film it. And then the mumbling between the two people was so annoying. The volume was all the way up and u couldn’t hear a word they said. But if they dropped something or banged something that came thru loud as hell. Yeah this was ridiculous. Don’t quit ur day job!

The best ones are from JPVideos. He narrates the entire thing and includes a lot of info on it. And the guy, Mike, that's with him, has his own website, A good day for decay. They are the best, IMO.

So at 1:33 it looks like you both are hiding from someone. And then when you make it in there are Samsung tv boxes there. and cleaning supplies lay out on the floor as if in use in the one room. Abandoned... I don't think this word means what you think it means sir.

If this mansion has been abandoned, it’s a terrible waste, of such a fine home.

It used to belong to Pink Floyds Dave Gilmore but then was bought by Music Producer Trevor Horn, Horns wife was accidently shot there in an air gun accident which left her paralysed. She died a few years later in 2014. As far as I know the house has been left empty since then

Although this was David Gilmour’s house at one time, it was later owned by someone else who later abandoned it.

That picture in the dining area, leaned on the fireplace; i have that same print in my livingroom! Cool, it's a Renoir and it's called "Luncheon of the boating Party". Only mine is quite bigger LOL.

I would have enjoyed this if it weren't for the lousy videography and the fact that I couldn't hear what you were saying. Maybe a do over is in order, it looks like a cool place but I can't hang in until the end, the camera is moving too quickly.

Yeah. The original is in The Phillips Collection, in Washington D.C.

Absolutely beautiful I love the black and turquoise bathroom it's beautiful the whole house is full of tasteful decor.

I’m just now stumbling upon this. It’s funny this is titled “Pink Floyd’s” mansion lol. It was David Gilmour’s mansion and besides he sold it in the 90s to Trevor Horn of The Buggles. I would’ve assumed the title “The Buggles abandoned mansion” lol. But if I remember correctly Trevor’s wife was shot in that mansion and that’s why it was abandoned? I could have that wrong but when I saw the house I was like dude that’s not Pink Floyd’s mansion lol. Gilmour owned it to record in the 80s then sold it but I was thinking everyone would know The Buggles story more. Very awesome find and getting in must have been a nightmare it seems. Anyway I’ll stop my useless rambles lol. Great video! 😊
