Love your videos! the only advice I would give is allow them to dry out between waterings. Pings rot really easily. But if your setup is working then don't listen to me :)

Pings and nepenthes are my love. I honestly have mine sitting out on the step. You will enjoy them. They can also be propagated by leaf cuttings, so you quickly get more

Pings are my favorite carnivorous plants I have over 300 carnivorous plants and 50-60 different types of pinguicula and I just can't get enough i need them all....I love mounting them on lava/pumice rocks and sit it in water 24/7 with aquatic utricularia or aquatic plants in the water i never have to worry about them just watch and enjoy 🥰

you should repot your carnivorous plants every year to change out the old sphagnum, because it starts to decompose and break down into nutrients

They are adorable! And I agree, moss works so well for pings. Mine have been in moss for years & they love it. I have a layer of perlite at the bottom and it sits in a water reservoir. Can’t wait to see these thrive in your care! 💜

Good choice. Suggest the lower light until they get established and well rooted into the spag. I have had a common variety that I picked up at a local nursery years ago that is thriving in a south facing greenhouse getting full sun. They have spread and now fill a 30 cm bowl shaped pot that I periodically fill with rain water. Just make sure they don't dry out there.

Try leaf propagating the pings! I started with 5, now I'm pretty sure I have 50 😅

Pinguicula like maxsea, if you do want to use some fertilizer. I keep all my pings in pumice, sand, and turface. I have experimented with fluval for some pullings and they don't seem to hate it. Love the color on your cyclosecta. It's gorgeous 😍

I ordered a ping too bc I have like 5 regular green ones and they catch fungus gnats like crazy. I also ordered a sundew. So excited. Hope they ship well.

I would love to! I found this adorable ping planters online but the shipping to me was $100 😭 so sad, but it’s nice to know they are out there!

Oh I wish you were closer. I'd give you some of my babies. I love these little guys. I got two from Crystal Star Nurseries (15 mins from our home) and now have over a dozen because they had so many babies.

Oh I love my pings! I have pulled off a few leaves and propogated them so now I have quite a few.. Mine are all from crystal star nursery.. i was told fish flakes are good for them if theres no gnats.. i bought a round glass dish from homesense. Its about 4" high and perfect for my 4 pings.. the babies are in a terrarium from ikea with some hoys props.. doing their jobs nicely 👏👏👏

You need the Pinguicula emarginata! It has the cutest flowers

Hey fern! I was wondering if you could make a series where you discuss the specific needs of common genus's of plants. For example: "needs of common pothos" would be a video. Or "needs of hoyas" or "needs of pings" or talk about several in one video. Just an idea. I have a wide variety of plants and dont know how you keep such different needs sorted and tended to for your plants! Love from Oklahoma! ❤️

these are sooo cutee and the setup is everything! I love it 🥰💜 I have so many fungus gnats right now I have to see if I can find a pinguicula in one of my local shops. But I aaalways tend to dry spaghnum moss completely out because I forget how much watering it needs compared to normal soil so I am a bit worried🥲 Are the pingis expensive? I have no idea

The recommendations I see are for distilled water, RO water or rain water. I use mostly rainwater for all my carnivorous plant.

Pinguicula weser is actually named after a german river thats running through my hometown 😊 so the first "e" is long and its a soft "s"

Man I can't believe I actually got it right girl I love you philodendron is my favorite genuine too. An yes the ring of fire is the same as the boggie I have both myself an I also have the golden crocodile witch looks like the verigation on the ring of fire too. An I guess my favorite right now is my boogie is mibd it sits next to my TV an I don't mind that it blocks it either but I really do love my Fatboy also love the fat stems I actually have 3 of them 🌱🌿🍃

Ima be getting a Lilac lollipop! I’m so excited! Ima be pouting it in 1part sphagnum moss and 1 part perlite. Mainly because that’s what I have so that’s what they are getting. 😂💚

So happy your pings are a fair size. I purchased 2 from Brads Greenhouse 2 years ago and they were ridiculously small. I was not happy with my purchase.

If it was over winter they may have been in their succulent phase, where they grow much smaller non-sticky leaves?

No. They were so small that in estimation, they should have been left to grow on before selling.

Peat moss, sphagnum moss Ideally some inorganic drainage as well

Nice video… best book on carnivores is The Savage Garden by Peter D’ Amato, who founded California Carnivores…there are now 2 editions, I have both and use them a lot, 🌱

Good video, very interested in getting a c.plant due to the change of the trash pick ups, we get a lot of flies now in the kitchen. the amount of anxiety i had with you just randomly handling the box cutter like that before opening the box sure didn't help.
