First thing I learned to bake was shortbread cookies with pecans. I was four, nearing five, and it was my favorite cookie. Mom used cooking to teach fractions. We would double, triple, or half recipes. it thought us how to measure, and how to work with fractions. And, it taught us that precision isn’t really that necessary. The food will taste good even if you’re off a little.
