Pine Snake Field Work: Installing a Trap Array

Фильм және анимация

Here is but a small glimpse at the work that goes into a field herpetological survey. In this short video, Biologist Bryan Hudson & Field Technician Daniel Duff install a trap array at a North Georgia study site, hoping to detect the Northern Pine Snake (Pituophis melanoleucus). The traps are then checked on a daily basis for as long as they are in operation.

I have a question do u put any kind of scent in the trap? to make the snakes attracted to it?

No scenting. Snakes will naturally follow along objects in their environment, in this case the drift fence that leads into the trap.
