It's a real shame that most motorcyclists won't get to experience a revvy little stroker like this. They're only about 55/60 hp but the grin factor is 150hp all day long. So much fun!

This bike was the one that made me a guy in love with two wheels, here in Brazil it is known as the black widow! Many people died in accidents with this motorcycle in the 90's, oh the nickname, sensational motorcycle!

Driving them is better. At idle and off throttle the sound is out standing. But 4 strokes with big cams are too. Up in the revs 4t strokes multicylinders scream better.

A 1 stroke does. Delicate power delivery is for cornering not straight roads.

I had a Yamaha RD 350 in South Africa in 1984 . That was the best bike ever . Seriously 👍

This is a bike that give 4-strokers a run for their money !

Pretty fast for a 350. I had an older air cooled RD about 40 years ago and it was a basket case even back then. Put some new carbs, new pistons, new tires on it and a pair of expansion chambers and had a lot of fun for a couple of years. It was pretty finicky about things like elevation and low rev around town riding. Got tired of it. This water cooled one kind of makes me want one again.

Same. I had an air cooled 350 in 1978, with mods, it would top out at 160k's. Loved the sound and the power-band ... but it needed frequent work.

Bro outstanding work,that power valve at 9.50/10.000is insane,she held the bends well as well ,sounds ☺,very nice bike sir indeed 😎

I had a RD 400 f great bike my nephew ruined it. I should have never let him near it.

Ya gotta love a ‘Valve’ incredible bang for buck and the like of them will never be ween again. So glad I managed to grab myself an F2 before prices got too crazy.

I always wanted a Yam 350 power valve when I was younger. Such a great bike.

A lot of people have no clue how to ride these, the red line is merely a suggestion, stay at it or above it and brake late, throw it into the turn and apply power early coming out of it. They will get left behind on the straights but they are amazing at reeling in large bikes in the twisties.

I had a 3 ypvs……….compared to a modern sports bike they are dog shite with no brakes,handling or power

Bin damals auch mal die RD 350Ypvs als auch die TZR250 von einem Freund gefahren. Gab diese beiden Moppeds dann aber schnell wieder zurück, denn damit hätte ich mich umgebracht. Tja, über 30 Jahre her und ich fahre weiter BMW und lebe noch ohne größere Blessuren.

Brings back memories from 40 years ago. Growing up I owned an 81 RD350, two 82 RD350s, and 85 RZ350 and 85 RZ500. Miss those days.

As a lobg time lover of yam stinkwheels, owned 3 350LC's and a TDR250, I can tell you, that motor is sweet as a nut, so crisp a clean through out the rev range. Deffo a lucky bugger to use one as your daily driver.

I sold my FJ 1200 to pay off my mortgage in 2006. I miss it every summer.

I can't believe that back in the day when I had the opportunity to buy new - I chose a Honda Super Dream over this! To be fair, the SD was the only shit Honda I had, but the RD's were the real street-villains of their time!

Nice clean bike, engine sound real strong. I used to have one 30 years ago, it was my first motorcycle. I wish i still had it. The frame and brakes were not not good imo, but the engine was great. Real wide powerband for a 2 stroke. After that i owned a honda ns400r and an aprilia rs250. I still love the 2 stroke racers. Unfortunately they've become real expensive.

I love the fact it has 73,000 on the clock and still runs beautifully I had a GT380 with 43,000 on the std pistons if you look after them they will go on forever

I miss 2strokes had a apprilla rs 250 would stink of two stroke getting off it but loved it.

Took my 350 two stroke out yesterday. Was able to put the shopping in the sidecar. my Jawa 350TS redlines at 5750RPM but the factory expansion boxes sound lovely.

It blows my mind how this motorcycle keeps being called an rd350, while here in the states it was only imported a couple of years and only available in two colors schemes, one for each year, known only as the RZ 350 with the Yamaha power valve system. I know because I owned several and raced them.

Ich hatte damals leider nicht die Kohle dafür..🤷‍♂️und heute sind diese Kräder erst recht unbezahlbar geworden..🤔 Ich Dir damals Suzuki GT 250 und diverse Yamaha RD 250/350 Luft-und zum Schluss Wassergekühlt..😏 Das wäre tolle und Problemlose Motorräder!🤗 Ich wünsche Dir stets eine gute, Bruchfreie Fahrt 😉und viele Bikergrüsse .. Sweet RD350《☆》Watching the Tach is quite impressive even with the clutch slip👍🔥🔊I had to convert 190kph into 118mph bcoz it seemed much faster..I imagine its even faster with better clutch springs🖖😎☮

This is how my tuned Pannonia P21 pulled. Mine even more explosive. My 4 cyl. 750 Kawasaki was slow ín comparison. A true rocket.

My top faired and belly panned RZ350 would just clip 195kph- but you had to get through the 170kph death wobble that I was later told was cased by that fairing configuration.
