Pilots Eye View of World’s Most Dangerous Landing - Paro Airport, Bhutan!! | Airbus 319
Paro airport is considered as one of the most challenging airport in the world for the commercial jetliners to land.
The airport is located at an altitude of 7364 feet above mean sea level with runway elevation of 7362 feet and 7310 feet respectively for runway 15 and runway 33.
The runway length is 7431 feet ( 2265 meters) and width is about 30 meters which just covers the minimum runway width required by ICAO. ( one factor why Paro is considered one of the most challenging runway to land for the pilots)
Note: All Airbus aircraft are developed based on 45 m wide runways because it reflects the most frequently used runways by Airbus aircraft.
All flight and simulator certification tests linked to directional control on ground are performed on 45 m wide runways.

Amazing! I didn't see the runway until just before they landed!
Very nice approach. Margin for error is much smaller than any normal straight in type approach but nothing there seemed “dangerous”. The captain’s performance was something to watch. I hate to give the public the impression that anything we do is dangerous, when we train so hard to make a flight as safe as possible. What you see here is a well trained skillful crew flying like professionals during a difficult approach, well done guys.

I think, what's considered "dangerous" is not the approach itself or the execution of it, but the environment of the airport degrading your options in case there is an error and increasing the seriousness of any error that might occur.

Look out the right when they are at 200 feet. The side of mountain is just off the wing. This is a high altitude, short runway airport and you understand the technical ability. They are flying a big slow to respond airplane.

That’s what I was thinking. The computer obviously felt that the pilot was mentally challenged for landing there. Lol.

I saw that the co-pilot worked the instrument panel in coordination with the pilot, AND when his job was done he rested his hands upon his knees out of the way. I would trust this crew to the ends of the Earth!

Far out is that from the other end of the runway. This very short final preceded by a banking turn and before that flying right next to a hill!

no, there's no guided landing in Paro. Only cloud break approach which doesn't even lead you to runway, just to generality of airport. They usually fly to VOR at around 18000ft which leads pilots to airport and assess if airport is visible. Pilots 100% handfly for the rest of approach. Then continue to descend until 10000ft into valley, before making a U-turn while descend to 9000-8000ft until they are in line with the river. Following it till visual with yellow roofed temple then making the famous turn into Runway 15. No ILS, no Localizer just pure visual into the runway
Definitely my next MSFS challenge w/Pacx. Probably use the shorter 737-600.
I have done this many times in FSX and using the PMDG 737 800. I don't think I have got it right yet. Oh, I can get rubber on the runway, but it would not be pleasant for the passengers or the airframe. Very difficult landing

Same here. I made a few wrong guesses. You can usually see the run way markings by 400 ft. I watched it again just to note where at what point I could see the runway.
usually i land Yak-52 in this manner, didnt know it is possible in commercial operation for airbus with passengers omg amazing)

I dont have words explain the skill of this capt(pilot).i think A319 is piece of toy to him. I dont think any pilot from european block will fly this approch.this guy can fly anywhere in the world.

Flying into Paro is basically the Top Gun: Maverick mission.
Hats off to them how they fly this approach again and again where there are no guidence to the runway . Impossible almost in the night
