Flew Aer Lingus from Dublin to NY and I must say I was very impressed with that airline. Might be my new favorite between Lingus and British airways.
I lived and worked in Nice for very many years from the mid-90s and flew very frequently in/out of NCE. In those pre-911 days it was easy to get an invite to the flight deck, from where the views during arrivals/departures were always spectacular. I actually lived high up on Mont Boron - the headland above Nice port - and so had a grandstand view for the various comings & goings to NCE. My all-time favourites were the circle-to-land approaches to run 22, because I felt I could almost touch the plane as it turned from base to finals right in front of me. But the most spectacular experience was one time when 2 BA Concordes brought fans down for the Monaco GP. Those amazingly speedy birds couldn't turn within the radius of the Baie des Anges, so they turned final over Cap Ferrat, and zoomed literally right overhead my apartment on final approach. Very memorable and happy days.

Thats very cool indeed. Always a nice approach and on a rare occasion from the other side as we experienced on the Norwegian 787
Great video! My wife & I LOVE LOVE LOVE flying Aer Lingus!
Those engines sound wonderful

Very enjoyable video. 14:50 It is pleasing that the flight crew use the command, "clear take off"" without the 'to.' The 'to's' and the 'for's' can give rise to confusion.
Both pilots plane it's sound and flight is wonderful 👌👌👌👌👌👌You have done great job
Brilliant Airlingus Crew
Impressive, this crew is capable and thorough.
Very Nice Video
It’s amazing what you don’t miss until it’s (potentially) gone. I’ve flown in and out of Nice for a fair while now with British Airways, now the future is highly uncertain and I may never get to do it again because of this whole Coronavirus situation and the after effects.
Cool, competent crew.
رحله سعيده و حمد لله على السلامه وكل التحيه والتقدير والاحترام لكم

That's a whole lot of right banking out of Nice to get to Dublin!! How did they do it...via Turkey...Rome? Strange!

When taking of from this runway you have to bank right over the Med in order to gain enough altitude. Otherwise you'd fly straight into the mountains.
A fantastic video. Flying sounds like a complicated business, with all the readings and numbers. Was the FO flying the plane? She seemed to be giving orders (requests) to the Captain. I always admire Aer Lingus for their professionalism and courtesy. Thanks for the video.

Yes, intersection departure not the best consideration with tailwind and terrain ahead, first officer. Captain was on it 👌🏻

Some airlines use the Junior First Officer position and give them 2 stripes until they move to Senior First Officer and 3 stripes but JFO is full qualified to land./taleoff etc... Some airlines also use the 2 stripes for a cruise pilot.... Thank you and glad you enjoyed the video

The Flight in the beginning was the Pilots did speak plus the Captain and First Officer and scenes were great from plane but toward the end they I hope you Injoyed the Flight never mention that so the score is 5

Given the excess performance of an A320 Runway, with more than 2,500 m of 04R left and a turn at 400' will an intersection make much of a difference? If yes, what will it give?

From what I heard on the video either location was fine but as the tower didn't instruct them they just decided to take the full runway...

Cache Canada you ask the airline nicely and do as you’re told by the captain
Why does the F/O only have two stripes?
@celticlofts
Жыл бұрын
Because she hasn't reached 1500 hours flying time yet. It's an Aer lingus protocol. When she reaches that milestone she'll get her third stipe. She can still do everything a three stripe F/O can do she just needs more hours.
How many splendid flight crews will be left 'twiddling fingers' indefinitely instead of controls until virus settled ?. The economic costs will be staggering .
When I was young my mates told me it was cunnilingus and not air lingus.

I get that its in France and they speak french on radios sometimes. I don't like the whole awareness thing for non french speaking pilots. I'm a pilot and get a feel for traffic from the radio.

It's a standard procedure on most European airlines. The FO has to build up a certain number of flying hours (1500 in the Aer Lingus company) and only then can they receive their 3rd stripe and the rank of SFO. There's no difference between those stripes, but 4 stripes are reserved for captains
😁👌👍👏

12:26 "Pax"??? "Auto-pressurizing" I've seen another video where the FO replies "pressurizing" but I can't understand what the word being called out is. What is Pax?

@EmpyreanLightASMR

@@LaborchefDrKlenk-gb8rv I thought it might be an acronym (P.A.X. or something). Ok... so what are "packs"?
@LaborchefDrKlenk-gb8rv
2 жыл бұрын
@@EmpyreanLightASMR Pax is the abbreviation for passenger. Pack however stands for pneumatic air cycle kit and it's basically the air conditioning system which pressurizes the cabin. Depending on outside conditions, weight, runway length etc. they are turned off or on APU for more engine power. You would switch them on once climb thrust is set shortly after takeoff. Some airlines have the check in the flow when setting climb thrust or even in the after takeoff checklist. But the Airbus will remind you if you forgot it.
