Pilot Metropolitan fine nib ink sketch of barn sketching with Jim

A 10 minute studio ink sketch from a photograph shown in real time.
I enjoy doing small ink drawings and wanted to share with you. These kinds of sketches can be done quickly when you have a moment in your day, and can actually be a relaxing break from routine. All you need is some paper and one drawing implement ( pencil, ballpoint, marker, fountain pen, crayon or whatever) a subject and you're good to go.
Hope some of my babbling makes sense, I wanted to say that anyway you go about drawing; pen, pencil , pencil then pen, paint then...., is fine, whatever works for you because it's your art.
Thank you for joining me, hope to see you again.

Hello! I don't often leave comments on videos, but I felt the need to share one with you. I have really shaky hands, and it's driven me away from drawing and any kind of art for years, because I didn't think I could make anything good with shaky lines. Seeing imperfect lines create such a beautiful piece of art has really inspired me and I think I might try to get into drawing soon. So thank you! I hope you find a peaceful moment when you need it

Really appreciate you leaving a comment, thank you. I would love to see the drawings you are going to make. You have the passion to create inside, I’m so glad my video has given you a spark to let it out. Keep in touch.

You are not alone. I have loved painting and drawing for years. I had a minor tremor developed in my hands in my early teens. It comes and goes. I’ve learned to own ‘my tremor’ and in doing so, I allow it to be part of my art. I hope you do try and and continue drawing. Hats off to Jim for his wonderful and inspirational videos!

I enjoyed your video and appreciate how you talk through what you are doing, and also the transparency of how sometimes you draw something several times before you like it. This is a new hobby for me and I love ink and watercolors and hope to apply it to nature. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to watching your other videos.

Thanks John, appreciate the comment. I want to do some flora and fauna sketches as well, I have ideas but if you have any I’d love to hear them. Not sure if you’ve looked at my other channel but I have videos of my camping. When I read your channel info., I thought you may be interested. I look forward to your upcoming videos, are there any in the works?

@@SketchingwithJim-cv7nk I haven't made videos in a while, though I had meant to. Computer took forever to edit and I stopped. I do love camping ,and nature journaling is something I want to add to that experience. I'll definitely check out your other channel!
